When the Villains Unite - Chapter 6; Part 1
Bellamy and Damian came to fetch me from the Duke of Euassis’s home.
The Orca brothers were getting more handsome by the day. Bellamy had a certain Ducal air about him as he traveled to and from the palace, performing his official duties. Damian, who had spent months on demon-slaying expeditions at the Emperor’s urging, had become the Empire’s youngest Swordmaster and was now the Crown Prince’s personal knight. His training is far different from his time in the annex, and his body is more toned. They aren’t young boys anymore.
Soon, the years passed and Damian’s coming-of-age ceremony will take place.
In the original, Aria first had relations with them at his coming of age, but that won’t happen anymore. Oddly enough, the Orca brothers didn’t seem to care much about Aria.
“Bellamy! Damian!”
I called them from a distance, and the two of them, who had been talking about something, turned in my direction.
I felt bad that I kept them waiting, so I picked up my speed.
“Sorry, you’ve been waiting for a while… Eh?”
My eyes widened as Damian picked me up like a princess. I freaked out and grabbed his collar. I looked at him confused, and he gave me his trademark, bratty look.
“Yeah… We’ve been waiting for you for a long time. I guess that’s why I’m in a bad mood?”
“Oh… I’m sorry, we ended up taking longer than I thought0”
“What were you talking about with Ashik?” Bellamy interrupted me.
I can’t tell you what we talked about. I can’t tell you that I had a family counseling session with him about you two, like a relationship counselor…
Reaching over and smoothing down my hair, which was disheveled by Damian, he silently waited for my answer.
“Um… It’s a secret…”
“You’re late because you were telling secrets with that asshole?”
I awkwardly smiled at him, not sure why Ashik suddenly became an asshole.
“Someone was waiting for you with sore legs and you were telling secrets to that creepy guy… I feel bad.”
“Oh, okay, what can I do to make you feel better?”
The two men’s faces relaxed; this was the answer they were hoping for. I could tell something was up from the moment they started faking their irritation…
“Are you really going to do what we want?”
“Yes, for today, but not too much.”
“Okay, then we’ll think about it… Yeah, that would be great!”
It had been less than a second since he said he would think about it, then he brightly smiled as if he was done. Sunlight poured in from behind and I felt like he was bathed in a halo.
“Then, let’s sleep together tonight.”
Where did that come from?
Dumbfounded, I glanced at Bellamy, who was at least sane. But, he didn’t seem to have any intention of arguing with Damian. In fact, he seemed to be amused by the idea.
“No way.”
Of course, I liked sleeping with them, but once I realized it was romantic love, the feelings made me uncomfortable. And I’m not very good at hiding it. I mean, who wouldn’t be thrilled to have a handsome man on both sides of them…
Plus, it’s not like I don’t have a sex drive. When I was in college, I was proud enough of being a pervert who picked up and read trashy romance novels, and even as I remained in this novel, I was always interested in sex. It was to the point of secretly reading and burning pornography that the author had placed into this world.
It was impossible for me to lose my libido now, and when I completed my coming-of-age ceremony, I had erotic thoughts like an unbridled foal. There were many times when I wanted to drop everything and embrace them, but their feelings were obviously different from mine.
If I were honest about my feelings…
“Rose, I never thought you would think of us that way…”
“Sis, I don’t think this is a brother-sister thing, to say the least.”
Not only would I have to deal with their cold stares, but my relationship with them would be ruined from then on. I could deal with coldness and awkwardness, but what I fear more than anything is never being able to see them again.
I had met someone I loved unconditionally in this life, and they happened to be my brothers who shared ten years of hardship and adversity. It wasn’t even funny.
“Damian, you’re going to be an adult soon, and you’re still sleeping with your sister… What are you even going to say? Bellamy, you need to discipline him when he comes out with that.”
The sorrow I had for them just a moment ago was gone. They don’t even know my heart for them, yet they treat me like this.
As my mood continued, Damian spoke up.
“I don’t want anyone to come between the three of us. You’re only at the Duchy of Euassis on the weekends…”
He was right. We had spent all those years living as if there were only us three in the world, and it was quite empty when there was a gap between us. I missed Damian terribly during his absence when he went on demon-slaying expeditions at the Emperor’s behest a year ago, but Bellamy’s presence made it bearable.
“It’s weird not having Damian around…”
“… Don’t worry about it too much, Rose.”
“The three of us have always been one… Wherever he’s going, will he come back soon?”
“…”
Instead of answering, Bellamy pulled me into his arms. His arms were so warm that day.
Even I, who had lived another life, felt lonely when they were absent, and they were no different. At least I could smile at Damian’s letters, which often came via a messenger bird.
“So, do you think the three of us should go on a date tonight?”
It was nice to spend time with them, even if it wasn’t sleeping together. Damian nodded like it wasn’t a bad idea.
Bellamy opened the carriage door and Damian helped me in, then took the seat in front of me. After a moment, Bellamy sat down next to me.
“Rose, is there somewhere you want to go?”
“Umm… well?”
I’ve had a lot of desserts at the Duke of Euassis, and I don’t want to move around too much. Our home would be the best, but since it’s a date, I think we should go somewhere special.
Going to the city is fine, but for some reason, I and the Orca brothers were always crowded around when we walk down the street, so I don’t think that’s a good idea. If I had to pick a place that would be meaningful to the three of us, it would be…
“Why don’t we go to the annex since it’s been a while?”
Their faces were puzzled by my words.
Maybe I said the wrong thing, but where else could we go that would be meaningful to the three of us…
I wanted to make them feel like it was just the three of us for the first time in a long time, but I didn’t realize how triggering it could be for them.
“For some reason, I wanted to go to a meaningful place today… and if you don’t want to, we can go somewhere else.”
But they shook their heads as if they had heard that line before.
“No, that’s fine. If you want to go, we’ll go, but why don’t we stay at home for a while?”
“Why?”
“I have some urgent paperwork to take care of. It won’t be long.”
He just said he’d go wherever I wanted, but then suddenly said he had to work. Something was off, but I didn’t press further. There had to be a reason.
When we arrived at the mansion, I was excited, feeling like we were going on a picnic after all these years.
Bellamy and Damian left me to change into more comfortable clothes, then accompanied me upstairs to my office.
Once inside the room, I placed myself in the hands of a maid who changed my dress into a lightweight robe.
Shall we go to the annex and make the stir-fried pasta they told me they liked?
We had been miserable at the time, but somehow the memory seems pleasant now.
I got dressed and went straight to the kitchen and asked the chef to make it. It had been a long time since I cooked, so I couldn’t remember what to do.
By the time it was done, the Orca brothers came down to the first floor. I walked up to them with a picnic basket full of food.
