The Queen of Villains - Chapter 19

 Killian headed to the basement as soon as he received a casino flier at the entrance of Gallery Molinu.

“Welcome, Mr. Killian.”

The manager in charge of the casino recognized him and bowed in greeting.

“Is Emily Starr on the guest list?”

Gallery Molinu was known for being supported by the Starr family as it was located in Fortua’s 3rd District.

Normally, they wouldn’t casually show the guest list, but Killian was different. The manager immediately searched for the name “Emily Starr.”

“I’m sorry, but there is no one named Emily Starr.”

“I must have misunderstood.”

Killian sighed with relief and turned to leave, but the manager spoke again.

“However, there is someone with the name Emily Sinope…”

“What?”

As Killian furrowed his brow, the manager flinched as if he had done something wrong.

“She was seated at which table?”

Although he knew where the guests were seated and playing games, Emily stood out because of her appearance, so he remembered.

Trembling, the manager pointed to a table on the left side.

“She was playing with the group seated there until a moment ago.”

Without hesitation, Killian headed towards the table indicated by the casino manager.

The manager watched Killian’s back emitting an angry aura with an anxious look in his eyes.

At that table, an ugly-looking man who seemed in a good mood and Marlene who seemed in a shitty mood were sitting together.

“Looks like we’re the only ones left together .”

“If it weren’t for Roger Goldwyn , I would have left this place long ago.”

Frustrated, Marlene took a straight sip of whiskey. She was a much stronger drinker than Emily had known.

“Miss Huppert.”

Startled by someone calling her name, Marlene turned around and stood up from her seat.

“How did Marquis Starr…?”

Upon hearing the name Marquis Starr, the man sitting across from her also stood up, bewildered. He knew about the notorious reputation of Marquis Starr.

“Where is my wife right now?”

“She said she went to the restroom… but now that I think about it, it’s been quite a while since she left.”

Killian had a keen intuition. Marlene’s words gave him an ominous feeling.

Meanwhile, the face of the man who had been listening to their conversation turned pale.

“Huh, so you’re saying the woman who played the game with us earlier is the Marquis’s wife?”

Marlene warned him with a cold, stern face.

“If you blabber about us anywhere, you’re dead.”

However, it seemed like the warning didn’t reach the ears of the pale-faced man.

“Oh, this is a big problem! I need to tell Lamis right away…”

“Just a moment. Lamis, you say?”

As Killian’s momentum turned fiercely, Marlene also sensed something was amiss.

“Who is Lamis? Is he a dangerous person?”

Unfortunately , but Killian didn’t have time to explain to Marlene who Lamis was.

“Tell me right now. Did that bastard Lamis take my wife somewhere?”

The man swallowed hard as he spoke.

“Yes, yes. As soon as your wife went to the restroom, he followed her.”

“He said he had something to do! Are you saying he followed Emily?”

Marlene pressed her forehead and slumped onto the chair.

Lamis, the troublemaker of the Giuliano family, I should never be together with that dangerous item for even a minute.

In response to Killian’s urgent gaze, the casino manager quickly rushed over.

“If you go outside, there will be members of the Starr organization. Quietly search for Mrs. Starr inside.”

“Yes, understood.”

“And make sure this story doesn’t leak to the outside.”

Saying that, Killian looked back at the man who was sitting at the table with him. The man understood the meaning of his gaze and immediately raised his hand, saying,

“Don’t worry, I won’t say anything! If my mouth is about to say anything, I’d rather sew it shut.”

Killian looked at him with contempt, lying flat on the ground, and immediately started searching the casino to find Emily.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long to find Emily. It was because someone who heard a suspicious scream appeared.

“I heard a scream, so I was about to go call someone.”

“Where is it?”

“It’s over there, toward the emergency staircase at the end of the corridor.”

Following the direction given by the maid, Killian soon witnessed a scene that made his eyes widen.

It was a scene where Lamis was roughly dragging Emily, who he himself had never even held hands with before, away.

“You better let go of that hand right now.”

As soon as Killian appeared, the atmosphere instantly changed. Lamis also clearly knew Killian and stumbled back, retreating.

“Killian?”

As soon as Emily saw his face, tears of relief burst out.

‘Oh, no. It’s not time to cry.’

Wiping her running nose and tears quickly, Emily firmly pushed Lamis aside and rushed to Roger.

“Wake up.”

Then, she lifted Roger’s body and leaned it against the wall.

Seeing Emily take a firm stance, Killian was relieved and immediately went to Lamis and twisted his wrist with all his strength. He gripped the knife that Lamis had been holding tightly, which caused him to let go with a scream.

“You dared to crawl in here like this, Lamis.”

To explain more about Lamis, he was a middle boss in the Giuliano family.

However, he had no interest in the organization’s affairs and acted recklessly on his own.

In the family, Lamis was practically abandoned and ignored, and there were rumors that his position was not stable.

Nevertheless, he was able to maintain his position as a middle boss solely because he was the boss’s nephew.

“Don’t you know that even in the mafia, you shouldn’t touch a child or a woman?”

Lamis grimaced in pain but laughed at Killian’s words.

“Why should I follow a rule I didn’t make?”

Still, Killian held Lamis’s neck firmly with one hand. His face turned red as if it was about to burst from the immense strength.

“Ugh!”

Lamis struggled and couldn’t breathe properly, but Killian didn’t let go. No matter how hard he tried to break free with both hands, he couldn’t even come close to being a match for Killian.

“Okay, okay! I made a mistake, so stop!”

This was Killian’s territory, but he couldn’t just kill the middle boss of the Giuliano Family without proper justification. When killing an executive-level member of an organization, he must have killed the member or committed adultery with the wife of another member.

Without accurate evidence that Lamis tried to harass Emily, it was the Starr family that was at a disadvantage, and if the committee turned its back, the well-being of the Starr  organization could not be guaranteed. It was obvious how the Giuliano family would get away with it.

Worried, Roger stopped Killian.

“You’ll end up killing him! It’s better to stop now.”

Emily, too, looked at Killian with a worried gaze. Killian reluctantly released his grip, but it was difficult to calm his angry heart. As he opened the handle of his cane, a sawed-off shotgun appeared. 

“W-Why are you bringing that out….”

Aiming the barrel at Lamis’s chin, Killian opened his mouth. 

“If you appear in front of me one more time, I’ll blow your head off.”

Lamis nodded fearfully with terror in his eyes. 

“Leave before I kill you.”

As soon as Killian let him go, Lamis rushed out through the emergency exit without looking back. 

“Mr. Killian, I have no face.”

Roger forcibly moved his body and knelt in front of him. In fact, Roger Goldwyn  was also a regular member of the Starr Family organization. When Killain was running a club for the Starr family, he often needed celebrities. So he had Roger debut as an actor, who had achieved much greater success than expected. Although there were connections within the Starr Family, Roger himself had talent in acting and adapted well to that world.

“Find out how Lamis managed to bring in the knife, and summon Gallery Molinu’s director.”

“Yes, understood.”

Emily slowly stood up from the floor. Killian observed her as he picked up her handbag that was scattered on the floor and handed it to her directly.

“Are you hurt anywhere?”

“No.”

Although her wrist was slightly sore, it seemed better not to say anything. 

Then, not long after, Giovanni and Ivan rushed in. 

“Take him and treat him.”

They seemed accustomed to this kind of situation, as they calmly followed Killian’s orders even when they saw Roger injured.

Seeing Roger being supported and leaving, Emily burst into tears. 

“I’m sorry for causing this.”

“He’s the one who did wrong, not you.”

“Still….”

Killian felt a tightness in his chest at Emily’s completely dispirited appearance. No matter how he thought about it, he regretted letting Lamis go just like that.

“…If you see a man who treats you like this again, you may kill him.”

Emily also looked up at him with a determined face and said.

“Yes, I will properly shoot them next time.”

Killian’s eyes shook at Emily’s unexpected answer.
