Episode 69
Seeing the Emperor so furious, it must be related to the terrorist group! Michael was sweating, realizing that a national emergency was unfolding.
“Your Majesty!”
Meanwhile, the Emperor paced around the office, taking off his disguise ring.
Michael was struggling with how to deliver this information. After about twenty minutes, Dylan arrived, and Michael stood behind him, feeling uneasy.
“Speak, Your Majesty. We are ready to listen,” Dylan said.
“Dylan, are you ready to listen too?”
“Yes.”
“Something big happened, Dylan. Ishael, no, she found out my true identity.”
Michael was dumbfounded. How could she have found out to this extent?
“What’s the problem? She could’ve figured it out.”
At that moment, the Emperor glared at Michael, who shuddered, feeling goosebumps on his arm.
“Really, even the previous emperors would be shocked by such a major topic.”
Michael mumbled, and the Emperor nervously continued, “Anyway, it’s a big problem. She’s really perceptive.”
Dylan asked without a hint of confusion, “What do you mean by your true identity, Your Majesty?”
Then the Emperor realized that he had never told Dylan that he was “Ford”!
He almost blurted out his whole backstory in panic.
“I misspoke. I, um… I meant to say…”
“Yes?”
“Ishael Odette is very perceptive. She claimed to know all the secrets of the people around her.”
Michael calmly added, “Well, she might be a fake, you know? Among those who claim to be perceptive, there may not be truly perceptive individuals.”
“Michael, Ishael was genuine. There is evidence.”
Dylan took a sharp breath. He had a hunch that something was clicking into place.
“So, it means Ishael might have noticed that I am the cursed Grand Duke Castilla, the vampire.”
Overwhelmed by the shocking truth, Dylan reluctantly accepted the Emperor’s shaky reasoning.
The Emperor said with a hint of injustice, “Why would you be a vampire?”
“Rumors say so.”
“Still, I don’t think anyone would think that. You’re kind.”
Dylan pondered the Emperor’s words.
‘Maybe she treats me kindly even knowing that I am the cursed Duke.’
A subtle hope sprouted in his heart.
Dylan wiped his face with a towel and bowed shortly to the Emperor.
“I understand, Your Majesty. Did you summon me to reveal this information?”
The Emperor stammered, “Y-yes…”
“Then, I will return to the palace and investigate the situation.”
“Yes.”
The Emperor wiped the sweat off his forehead and mumbled, “The rumors about Grand Duke Castilla are scary, but it’s better to admit it with your own mouth now.”
“It’s regretful to keep deceiving.”
However, would Ishael understand? Lost in these thoughts, Dylan found himself walking faster than usual on his way home. He arrived home quicker than usual, but it seemed Ishael had already beaten him to it.
“Dylan, I have something very important to tell you today!”
As soon as he heard Ishael’s words, Dylan felt like he was receiving a death sentence, exaggeratedly so. “Could it be…?”
He hadn’t even properly defended himself as the cursed Grand Duke Castilla yet. What if she had figured out who he really was? Would she accept him calmly, or would she see him as a monstrous deceiver?
“I am a monster, but I never wanted to deceive anyone.”
Limited by Ishael’s presence, the monster with filthy desires instantly felt humbled. As her radiant smile grew brighter, his heart pounded and leapt.

Seeing Dylan’s trembling gaze, I tilted my head curiously. What happened today? Why does he look so upset?
“Dylan, I wanted to talk about something important… Are you busy?”
Dylan spoke in a slightly hesitant tone, “No, I’m not busy. If it’s something important… could you tell me after I finish cooking and calm my mind?”
I cocked my head again. “You can do that if you want.”
Why is he so serious? Well, discussing the program for the third week of our honeymoon might indeed be a bit of a dilemma. It’s making me cringe so much.
Anyway, I roughly planned out our itinerary. After Dylan finished cooking, we sat facing each other.
“Dylan!”
“Yes, please speak.”
“I think it’s about time we start planning our trip.”
I was already getting tired of planning the travel itinerary, but his eyes lit up.
“Oh, you mean the travel plan,” he said.
“Yes, of course! What else would it be?”
“Ah, nothing.”
As an Odette, I acquired the legal right to the territory. However, my first visit was unofficial, so I set a simple schedule for about seven days.
“We’ll take a carriage there. During the journey, I’ll write a travel journal. Then, we’ll explore Odette territory and check out the mansion.”
“Yes.”
“Now, this is the important part.”
I said with a gleam in my eyes, “We’re going to visit Grand Duke Castilla’s domain!”
His expression trembled. “Grand Duke Castilla’s domain? Why there…?”
“I want to meet Grand Duke Castilla!”
Whoosh. A gust of wind blew between Dylan and me.
It was a very cold wind.

Dylan was greatly perplexed. Did Ishael know his true identity and was speaking knowingly, or was she unaware?
“So…,” he asked carefully, “aren’t you afraid of approaching Grand Duke Castilla?”
“What is there to be afraid of?”
“Weren’t you afraid of the curse that was placed on him?”
“No! I’m going to lift the curse!”
Dylan, who was the one under that very curse, flinched.
Ishael claimed she would lift his curse?
“How?”
She said calmly, “I am a purification mage. I specialize in curses and black magic!”
Dylan stared at Ishael with a firm gaze. The curse he was under had lasted for centuries, and it could be dangerous, no matter how skilled she was in purification.
He wondered about the reason behind Ishael’s actions. “Is there a reason you’re specifically trying to lift Grand Duke Castilla’s curse?”
If the reason wasn’t valid, he planned to object immediately. But if the reason was that she had figured out he was Grand Duke Castilla…
His heart thumped loudly.
Ishael grinned wickedly, forming a circle with her thumb and index finger. “It’s money!”
Dylan was startled. With that one word, he realized that Ishael still didn’t know his true identity.
She brought both hands to her mouth. “Odette territory is on the brink of collapse. But there’s no force to protect it!”
“There might be a territorial conflict.”
“Yes! I’m planning to grovel to Grand Duke Castilla, the most powerful Duke nearby!”
She smiled even wider. “Haha! I must look like a total opportunist. But this reason must never be revealed.”
“….”
“I’ll tell Grand Duke Castilla something else.”
“How… will you tell him?”
He wondered if he should reveal his identity as Grand Duke Castilla right now, but Ishael was quicker.
“I came here with a pure heart to lift his curse!”
In Dylan’s eyes, she looked genuinely innocent. He quickly forgot what she had said about ambition three seconds ago and nodded earnestly.
“You really seem pure.”
“Hmm, do I? But you know, I heard rumors about the cannibal Duke, saying he’s ruthless and drastically different inside and out.”
“….”
“I wonder if that’s true… I hope everything will be okay. I should listen more to these rumors from now on.”
…Dylan decided to first properly handle these rumors. All the rumors in the capital had already been resolved.
He had no idea what rumors circulated inside the crumbling Grand Duke Castilla territory.
He slowly spoke up, “I’ve also made a decision.”
“Yes? What decision?”
“As we begin our journey…”
“Yes?”
“I’ll tell you everything I’ve been hiding.”
After he quickly cleared up all the rumors surrounding him.
