Episode 61
I reached out my hand towards him. The pure white light flowing from my hand touched Dylan’s arm. A pinkish light enveloped Dylan’s hand. At that moment, a gentle breeze blew, and the black stain on his hand slowly began to turn white.
He slightly parted his lips as if staring at an unreachable nostalgia and then closed them. I whispered affectionately to him, “I wasn’t a healing mage.”
“Then…”
“It’s purification.”
Purification magic was a higher category of healing magic. It had the ability to dispel curses and cleanse all impurities in the world. It was an ability that could handle divine beings and summon them, often referred to as the blessing of the gods. It was the exact opposite of dark magic.
The ability that had been cut off from the lineage since the death of the Archmage Ilina Sared was now in my hands.
“So, everything will be fine.”
Dylan gazed at the flickering lights dancing on the back of his hand and murmured in a hoarse voice, “Ishael, you are saving me…”
The term “saving” sounded grandiose. Unfortunately, only about half of the young black spot on his body had disappeared. It was not yet powerful enough to eliminate the dark magic that had permeated him.
At that moment, the magic theory I had learned at Melic Academy came to mind.
“The power of purification magic users can be greatly enhanced through physical contact.”
I looked at his arm and spoke with a moist voice, “Dylan.”
“Yes.”
“I’m not doing this out of ill intentions.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m conducting an experiment.”
I bowed my head and then gently kissed the back of his hand.
My lips touched the rough back of his hand, which was icy cold from the scars, before recoiling. With tiny kisses, like a bird pecking, Dylan stiffened.
I called out to the petrified back of his hand, and the black stain began to gradually disappear.
“It’s being purified. See!”
I lifted my body and looked at Dylan again.
He fell silent, as if trying to hold something back, and his jaw trembled.
I looked down again and mumbled softly, “Still, there are some stains left.”
“I need to conduct more experiments.”
With his ears turning bright red, he roughly pulled me into an embrace.
In surprise, I opened my eyes wide, and at that moment, Dylan murmured softly as if exerting his last bit of self-control.
“If you don’t like the experiment, you can push me away.”
And then, in the next moment, he kissed my lips.
My parched lips were playfully nibbled. The moist breath of another person tickled the roof of my mouth. The kiss, where their breaths intertwined, continued endlessly. It was a sensation that felt like the tip of my toes kept falling, to the point of feeling dizzy. I closed my eyes and could not help but be drawn in. After exchanging several breaths to the point of breathlessness, he finally pulled away from my lips.
“Why did you make me know about this?” It was a voice tinged with resentment.
“I don’t think we can go back to before knowing it.”
His cheeks were flushed, and his lips were swollen and messy. I couldn’t face him either, thinking I would feel the same way. Feeling embarrassed, I instinctively lowered my gaze.
By now, all the stains on his arm had disappeared. Trying to control my rising breath, I murmured, “Thanks to the experiment, the dark magic has disappeared.”
He and I had never mixed our breath like this before. So, it’s only natural to feel trembling. It wouldn’t be right if there were any other intentions. That would be impure.
“I don’t think it’s fortunate.” “What?” As if trying to kiss again, the tip of our noses brushed lightly.
“Restraint is impossible.” Our lips met again. At that moment, I noticed the deep desire he held for me. It was intense to the point that I hadn’t noticed it until now.
I slowly closed my eyes. My heart was undoubtedly in turmoil. However, at this moment, I couldn’t refuse Dylan’s kiss. Our plump flesh collided again. Our breaths intertwined fiercely through the gaps in our lips.
When my breath was blocked, and my heart felt like it would burst, his lips slowly separated from mine. He caressed my lips with his hand, wearing a deep expression of doubt.
“After a year, all of this will be impossible….” He tilted his head slowly as if collapsing onto my shoulder and whispered, “To think that one can still remain after experiencing all this.”
Dylan looked half-confused and said once again, “I don’t really understand.”
And I felt the same. I couldn’t grasp exactly what my feelings were toward him. I stared at his red eyes, trying to define my emotions, but the chaos didn’t subside.
It was because the knights of the Royal Guard were rushing towards us from behind.
“Ishael! Sir Dylan!”
“We’ve come to rescue you! Uh, what?”
They looked around at the devastation and widened their eyes. “Did you manage to defeat this monster?”
I whispered, wiping my swollen lips with the back of my hand, deliberately ignoring my trembling heart.
“Of course, we’ve done it all.”
I gestured briefly towards the reinforcements.
“You should go to His Majesty. There will probably be a lot to say.”
At that moment, Dylan grabbed my hand. With a firm grip, unhesitatingly.
“Yes,” he said, emphasizing it again.
“…Let’s go, my lady.”
Emmanuel and Ford were nowhere to be seen. Nobody told him to do that. Yet, despite all that, he began to approach me naturally.

While Michael was reorganizing the interior barrier of the townhouse, Ishael and Dylan entered the townhouse.
The Emperor looked at them with an admiring expression and said, “Welcome!”
“It’s an honor to see Your Majesty again.”
Ishael and Dylan bowed politely, and the Emperor clapped his hands.
“Come, take a seat. Now, what happened in the hunting ground?”
Dylan had a stern expression that didn’t look like that of someone attacked by a magical beast. “The animals were affected by dark magic and turned into magical beasts.”
“We’ll have to confirm what happened.”
Ishael replied succinctly.
“In brief, there weren’t many magical beasts, roughly about ten in number, and we handled them all.”
“How did you handle them?”
“Come to think of it, I awakened in the middle of it.”
They had also witnessed Ishael’s awakening. However, just as the white light spread around her when she awakened, all the images were cut off.
“Yes, we were lucky. Since I awakened the ability to handle dark magic and magical beasts.”
The nobles exchanged glances.
“If it’s the ability to handle magical beasts….”
“What exactly is it?”
They shared glances again.
At that moment, Lady Diana mumbled uncomfortably, “Hmm, I can’t believe you defeated the magical beasts. You didn’t even witness it yourself.”
She was the granddaughter of Duke Saboia, who had recovered with difficulty.
Many nobles looked at Diana and quickly added, “That’s right, Lady Diana’s words are correct.”
“Come to think of it, it does seem like too coincidental. Magical beasts appeared, the images were cut off, and then you awakened to defeat the magical beasts.”
Diana barely managed to keep her composure amid the people’s words.
The Lorelei family was the same. Everyone was tense and sweating, and that’s when it happened.
“Right, it might feel like a coincidence,” Diana pressed me with persistence. “Even the Emperor seems uncomfortable with it!”
I smiled mischievously. Yes, I was waiting for a mention of the Emperor.
“Right. Then, what about this?”
In a gaze mixed with suspicion and curiosity, Ishael whistled softly.
From a distance, a brave, small, and white furball rushed out.
Everyone looked at the furball with suspicion.
“I thought it had a mission, but what’s with bringing in an animal all of a sudden in the presence of His Majesty?” Diana asked, her voice unusually sharp.
Ishael smiled playfully and tilted her head. “From now on, I’ll show you something.” Ishael spoke loudly towards the white puppy.
“Go, Mung Mungi!”
“Go!”
“Go ask!”
When question marks appeared above everyone’s heads, the square-shaped Mung Mungi bravely rushed out.
“Is it going to bite Lord Giljo? With that dog? Ha!”
I chuckled. Mung Mungi’s target wasn’t Giljo.
“What, what is it?”
It was Diana.
Diana was taken aback and quickly stood up.
But Mung Mungi was faster.
“Kmamang! (Grrr!)”
It raised its small, square teeth and bit Diana’s ankle.
