Inlaid With Jade - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Are you admiring me?
Li Heming was indeed fierce. Once the title of the Northern Leader was released, who would not be afraid of him?
However, now he was sitting on a chair, holding Lin Yu’s cold feet and silently rubbing the acupuncture points on her soles to warm her body. He was not fierce at all. If outsiders saw him, they may sigh that he was a henpecked man.
When Lin Yu said that Li Heming was fierce, he did not refute it. He only rubbed one of her feet to activate the blood and qi and then continued to rub the other. She had a slender frame and tiny feet, not even as long as Li Heming’s palm. He held her in his hands and could not break free; he was kneaded and rubbed her.
Li Heming seemed to have medical skills. He bent his knuckles and used them to drill into the acupuncture points on her feet soles, making Lin Yu feel both pain and discomfort. But he was too strong, and she couldn’t help but scream in pain.
“Be gentle…” She shouted. Softening her voice, she called him flatteringly, “Second Brother.”
The fact that she indulged in the snow today was too irresponsible about her body, and it was impossible to calm Li Heming down with just a simple “Second Brother.” After hearing it, he didn’t even blink and said mercilessly, “Bear with it.”
However, he reduced his strength a bit.
Lin Yu moved her legs slightly, and Li Heming thought she would shrink back, but she pushed the foot stuffed in his arms against the warm part of his waist and abdomen.
Li Heming didn’t say anything. He just slightly straightened his waist, let her find a comfortable place and stop moving, and then slightly lowered his body to wrap her feet in his arms. He seemed to have always been like this, not easily forgiving others with his words but always taking care of her. Lin Yu didn’t understand previously, but now she had a little clue.
She was a sentimental and thoughtful girl, so she could naturally sense Li Heming’s indulgence towards her. She tilted her head to look at him, and her gentle eyes swept over his cold and handsome eyebrows before landing on his face for a long time. Then, looking down at his slightly sharp jaw, she suddenly stretched her hand towards his neck. Her fingers, warmed by the fire, went into his collar. Her fingertips slid across the skin of his neck, and she hooked the red string with jade on his neck.
Seeing her casual actions, Li Heming finally talked to her: “What are you doing?”
His tone was neither cold nor warm, but his head obediently tilted slightly to one side so she could hook out the jade on his neck.
Lin Yu took out the warm jade he wore but did not take it off. She only moved closer to him, lowered her head, and turned the jade repeatedly to identify it carefully for a long time. Her head was almost touching his jaw. Li Heming could smell the medicinal and soft fragrance from her body. He lowered his eyes to see the top of her black hair, and the golden hairpin swayed gently, emitting fragrance.
Lin Yu looked at the jade briefly, then suddenly raised her eyes and asked him softly, “Is this the jade I lost when I was a child?”
She didn’t ask where the jade came from or if it was given to him by another girl. She had guessed it in her mind.
Sure enough, Li Heming said “hmm” indifferently. He wasn’t ashamed to pick up her jade and wear it on his body. He was honest as if he didn’t know his behavior was shameful.
Lin Yu held the jade he wore close to his body, exposing the red string wrapped around his neck from his clothes. He looked like a wild wolf being pulled by its collar. Lin Yu looked at him and suddenly called his name. “Li Heming.”
Li Heming lowered his eyes to meet her clear eyes and heard her softly ask him: “Are you… admiring me?”
She did not use “like” but “admiring,” which made Li Heming stare at her for a while. Most of the men around him would hug their wives and say sweet words to them after hearing their wives ask this question, but Li Heming still looked cold and answered with a serious face: “Yes.”
Lin Yu was not as good as him at hiding her thoughts. She could not help but smile. She imitated him and only said, “Oh,” faintly.
Li Heming seemed afraid that she would become spoiled because of this, and said: “But if you still don’t care about yourself and go wild in the snow next time, you will still be punished.”
Lin Yu stuffed the jade into his chest and stretched her hand to smooth his collar: “I am not that weak. If you are that strict, I can’t go out in winter.”
Li Heming immediately frowned when he heard that she would do it again.
Lin Yu saw that he looked like he was going to scold her and hurriedly said: “But since you are worried, I won’t play in the snow.”
Li Heming got her promise, and his expression eased a little.
As they were talking, Zelan brought ginseng ginger tea and a hand warmer. Li Heming stared at Lin Yu, who finished drinking, then pushed the oil paper bag on the table before her: “Chestnut cakes.”
Lin Yu didn’t expect that he would buy this specifically for her and was surprised: “Why did you buy so much?”
“I bought some other things, too.” Although Li Heming said so, these large bags didn’t look like he only bought a few.
Lin Yu opened a bag of chestnut cake, picked up a piece, and slowly took a small bite. The taste was fragrant, soft, and not greasy. She said happily: “It’s still hot.”
As she said that, she picked up another piece and handed it to Li Heming’s mouth. Li Heming didn’t hesitate, lowered his head, and opened his mouth to eat the piece in her hand.
There were at least a dozen cake shops in the capital. Lin Yu asked him, “I didn’t tell you which shop it was. How did you know it was this one? Did Brother tell you?”
Li Heming reached out to wipe off the residue on her lips: “No, I bought it for you before.”
Lin Yu was stunned for a moment: “When?”
Li Heming didn’t want to mention it and said casually: “You were young at that time, so you probably don’t remember it.”
