Illimitable Until Death - Chapter 0
“What kind of person is considered normal?”
This question can be both humorous and philosophical.
The reason it can be humorous is simple: most people wouldn’t randomly ask such a question.
If someone suddenly asked this question out of the blue, our first reaction would likely be to laugh.
After all, a normal person wouldn’t just suddenly think to ask this question.
However, the philosophical reason behind it is just as simple.
From an objective perspective, this question can become a deep and thought-provoking debate topic.
However, most people wouldn’t consider this question as a subject until high school or beyond.
Nonetheless, this question was asked by Fang Li on the first day of his first grade in elementary school.
Fang Li was only eight years old that year.
As you can imagine, when this question was posed by an eight-year-old child in front of a group of ignorant classmates and a teacher, the situation became awkward and perplexing.
Just based on this incident, Fang Li would already be considered abnormal.
Such a question should never have come out of an eight-year-old child’s mouth.
However, no matter how you look at it, Fang Li is a normal person.
When his peers play and mess around, Fang Li plays and messes around too.
When his peers get into trouble, Fang Li gets into trouble too.
When his peers are innocent and naive, Fang Li is innocent and naive too.
In other words, Fang Li is not precocious or abnormal. Both physically and mentally, he is just a normal kid.
It’s just that on the first day of his first grade in elementary school, Fang Li couldn’t help but ask such a question because he knew there was one thing that made him different from everyone else.
He was naive and unaware, but he knew he was unique.
……
That year, Fang Li was only seven years old.
Before the age of seven, Fang Li had grown up as an ordinary child.
However, at that time, because Fang Li’s parents were busy working all day long to support the family, the person who often accompanied Fang Li was his grandfather.
Fang Li’s grandfather loved him very much.
When Fang Li wanted to play, his grandfather would play with him.
When Fang Li was scolded by his parents, his grandfather would come out to defend him.
When Fang Li bumped or injured himself, his grandfather would comfort him in his pain.
Whenever Fang Li showed an interest in a particular toy, his grandfather would buy it just to make Fang Li happy.
As a result, Fang Li also loved his grandfather very much.
Even when he grew up, Fang Li could naturally tell anyone around him that his favorite person was his grandfather.
But what would be your reaction when such a person disappears from your world?
Fang Li had never considered this question before.
But at the age of seven, he was forced to think about it.
“Woo…woo woo woo…”
Crying sounds echoed through the space.
Some were incredibly suppressed, while others were unrestrained, but everyone could feel the sadness and sorrow inside.
Underneath the crying, the entire vast space was filled with a mournful atmosphere.
Unaware children were rendered speechless, one after another bursting into tears.
Fang Li found himself in such an environment, with one hand held by his mother and his gaze fixed ahead of him.
There was a black and white photo on display there.
The person in the photo was Fang Li’s grandfather.
Looking at that photo, Fang Li really missed his grandfather.
He knew that the people around him also missed his grandfather, which was why they were crying at this time.
But Fang Li couldn’t shed a single tear, even though his parents and everyone around him were crying.
So Fang Li asked.
“Mom, why is everyone crying?”
At that moment, Fang Li’s tearful mother answered him.
“…Because Grandpa will never come back.”
Fang Li knew this fact.
He knew that his grandfather would never come back.
But why did everyone have to cry like this?
“Mom, why do we have to cry like this?” Fang Li asked.
At this question, his mother’s expression was both surprised and puzzled as she replied.
“Because when someone we love is gone forever, normal people feel sad and sorrowful, so they cry.”
Hearing this answer, Fang Li didn’t say anything more.
However, he had a question in his heart.
“Do normal people have to cry at this time?”
It was because of this question that Fang Li raised the same question to his teacher when he was eight years old.
As he grew up, Fang Li realized that it was indeed a matter of course.
When a loved one passes away, it is natural for a normal person to cry.
Feeling sad and hurt is what makes us human.
From a psychological perspective, when a person’s subjective world and objective world adhere to the principle of unity, it is considered normal.
The mind reflects the objective reality, so any normal psychological activity and behavior must be consistent with the objective environment, even if only in form and content.
When a person’s mental or psychological state loses unity with the external environment, they inevitably become misunderstood and considered abnormal.
Therefore, based on this theory, Fang Li realized that he was not a normal person.
On that day, Fang Li did not cry.
While others were sad and grieving, Fang Li’s heart remained calm.
While others were taking things for granted, Fang Li was filled with doubts.
While others were shedding tears, Fang Li was simply Surprised.
Being so out of place, even to the point of seeming cold and callous, how could he not be considered abnormal?
After all, the person who passed away had raised him since he was little and they were very close. Moreover, he was his favorite relative.
When such a person passes away and is never to be seen again, especially since he was just a child, isn’t it natural to feel sad and heartbroken?
But from beginning to end, he never felt the slightest bit of sadness or grief, nor even the slightest impulse to shed a tear.
At that time, the adults did not pay much attention to this, thinking that he did not understand the meaning of death or that he was a bit mature for his age, and therefore not influenced by other children to cry.
Only Fang Li knew, in his confused state, that he was different from those around him.
That was Fang Li’s only thought at the time.
As Fang Li grew older, he understood why he felt that way.
It was not just because Fang Li became more aware, but because he experienced several similar situations where he could not cry or feel sad.
Then, Fang Li understood.
No matter how important or close someone is to him, once they die, he will never shed a tear, nor will he feel sad or heartbroken.
This is not because Fang Li was not mature enough or too cold-hearted.
It is just a flaw.
A personality defect that he had since he was seven years old.
“I cannot develop feelings for someone’s death.”
So…
“I cannot develop feelings for my own death either.”
This fact was confirmed when Fang Li turned 18 years old.
……
“Bam–!”
That was an extremely loud impact sound.
At the moment the impact sound sounded, Fang Li felt a dizzying sensation, and when his vision returned, the first thing he saw was only a piece of sky.
However, this sky gradually turned red, and little by little, it was replaced by black.
The appearance of red was due to Fang Li’s iris bleeding.
The appearance of black was due to Fang Li’s consciousness starting to fade away.
In that moment, Fang Li felt as if his body was no longer his own; he couldn’t move, and he couldn’t even feel anything.
The only sensation Fang Li had was — heat.
It was hot.
Very hot.
His whole body was feverish.
People around him began to gather and appeared in Fang Li’s blurry vision.
He couldn’t hear what they were saying, but he could sense the panic and fear around him.
Meanwhile, it felt like something important was flowing out of his body, making the ground beneath him wet.
Fang Li struggled to turn his head and saw the nearby asphalt road, which was gradually turning red.
Stained by the blood flowing out of Fang Li’s body.
Then, Fang Li finally understood.
What was flowing out of him was not just blood, but also life.
At the same time, Fang Li finally understood what had happened.
It was a car accident, an unexpected accident that happens more than one hundred thousand times a year in this country.
Fang Li was just one of the casualties of this year’s one hundred thousand car accidents.
“I see now…”
Fang Li accepted his fate in an instant.
There was no reluctance, no resentment, not even fear or resistance.
After all, Fang Li couldn’t have any emotions about “death.”
This was something he had realized since he was seven years old.
Now, it was just being confirmed.
If there was one feeling Fang Li had about his impending death, it was only one:
“Where will people go after they die?”
With this thought in mind, Fang Li closed his eyes.
Just as Fang Li completely lost consciousness, a cold voice poured into his mind:
“Number 11273 enters the main god Dimension.”
