Cang Lan Dao - Chapter 38.3
Chapter 38.3
She must find a new way between them —
So, she did not belong to Xie Heng or Li Guiyu’s side, nor did she belong to Xiang Sizi’s. She must find a new way between them. Between her thoughts, she rubbed the bead strings of the Thousand Machines and turned to look at the back of the mountain.
Tonight, Xiang Sizi was going to set an ambush on Xie Heng, and she had set the location at the back of the mountain. However, she was sure that Xiang Sizi wouldn’t dare to act. Xie Heng was staring at him; if he wanted to kill Xie Heng, he must hit him with a single blow; otherwise, once he failed, Xie Heng would find his whereabouts and uproot him. The Feng Yu Pavilion didn’t have much of a chance anymore. This time was just a test from Xiang Sizi, so she was not very worried about Xie Heng’s life. She was only concerned about how she lured Xie Heng over there alone without being obvious and arousing Xie Heng’s suspicion.
Luo Wanqing thought and told Zhu Que, “I’m going to relieve myself.”
Zhu Que froze at her words, then said with some embarrassment, “Why are you talking to me about this?”
Luo Wanqing ignored him and walked towards the back mountain where she had agreed upon. When she swept the surrounding area, she realized there wasn’t a single sound. She clapped her hands, and then she heard a rustling sound. She raised her eyes to meet a pair of cold eyes. He was crouching on a tree, holding a crossbow, staring at Luo Wanqing.
Luo Wanqing scanned the circle. After learning the approximate range of the encirclement, she waved her hand for him to hide and said, “I’ll bring him up later.” Then, she turned to leave.
When she descended the hill and stood at the door, Li Guiyu and Xie Heng had just finished talking. Li Guiyu pushed the door and walked out. Xie Heng was sitting on a chair, propping his forehead with his hand, seemingly thinking about something. Li Guiyu turned her eyes to look at Luo Wanqing, who was standing with Zhu Que. He walked in front of her and looked at her with his eyes downcast, his hand rubbing his sword, seemingly restraining something.
Luo Wanqing keenly perceived the intent of the killing and silently touched the Thousand Machines. Inside the room, Xie Heng propped up his forehead and softly said, “Third Highness, she is now still my Inspection Department’s agent.”
Li Guiyu’s movements lurched. Luo Wanqing immediately knew the meaning of this.
‘Now.’ In other words, they had reached an agreement, and soon she wouldn’t be. What did they agree on? Why did Xie Heng suddenly change his mind?
Li Guiyu heard this and seemed to have thought of something, laughing softly before saying, “Master Xie, remember what we agreed on. I’ll pick up the person ten days later. These days, she’ll be bothering the Inspection Department.”
Xie Heng did not make a sound. Li Guiyu turned back to look at Luo Wanqing, revealing a friendly smile as if she were a roadside girl, and said gently, “Qingqing, is this your real name?”
“Thank you for taking care of me, Your Highness,” Luo Wanqing raised her eyes icily, “Liu Xiniang.”
“Liu Xiniang,” Li Guiyu chewed on this name and nodded, “It’s also a good name.”
Li Guiyu turned around while smiling and walked towards the bottom of the mountain. When he stepped out of the crowd, his smile faded, revealing his killing intent.
Noted, he now knows the name of the liar who took up his lady’s face.
Luo Wanqing watched as Li Guiyu traveled down the mountain, waiting for him to walk away before she turned her head to look at Xie Heng, who was sitting and brooding in the room.
Qing Ya was in the middle of a discussion with Xie Heng. Luo Wanqing thought about it and walked in as well. When Xie Heng heard her enter, he raised his eyes to look at her and saw Luo Wanqing waiting at the side, so he knew she had something to say. He waved his hand, Qing Ya bowed and then retreated.
Xie Heng looked at the teacup and asked, “Is there anything?”
“Young Master, I found something in the back of the mountain,” Luo Wanqing told the reason she had long thought of, “I may need you to go over and take a look.”
Xie Heng heard this and turned his eyes to look at her. His clear, moist eyes seemed like a mirror, making everything unconcealable.
Luo Wanqing lowered her head and dared not to speak. After a long time, Xie Heng said, “What’s so unusual?”
Why don’t you let other people go?
Luo Wanqing heard the meaning and whispered, “I suspect it’s someone from the Feng Yu Pavilion. If it’s them, you might find something if you go there alone.”
“You want me to be the bait.” Xie Heng calmly stated her intention.
Luo Wanqing responded, “Young Master has been tracking the Feng Yu Pavilion for a long time. You should try an extraordinary method.”
Xie Heng did not respond immediately and seemed to be thinking about something. After a moment, he laughed softly, stood up, and walked outside, saying lightly, “Fine.” His wide sleeve brushed her face and gentlemanly murmured, “At your request.”
