Cang Lan Dao - Chapter 2.2
Chapter 2.2
While other people couldn’t understand it, he knew it. Luo Wanqing’s words would only carry little weight if Jiang Shaoyan were a commoner. One could even say that there was no logic. However, Jiang Shaoyan was a prince. Dongdu has received this news, and all Jiangnan high-level officials have known. The statement ‘Jiang Shaoyan can not see Luo Wanqing,’ how can they report it? Jiang Shaoyan and Zheng Biyue had met and would be married later. If Luo Wanqing died here today because she couldn’t see Jiang Shaoyan, in the future, this matter would become a stain on the political career of Jiang and Zheng’s Family.
After all, the Luo family had saved him. This point was conclusive. Even the Emperor already knew about it. Uncle Zhang thought a bit. He couldn’t decide this matter and hurriedly said, “Miss, don’t worry. I’ll find Young Master to ask if there’s any other way to let him come in to see you.”
When he said these words, Luo Wanqing’s heart sank. She knew that she had gambled right with the information from the dream. “I’ll only give half an hour.”
Luo Wanqing slightly raised her head, and blood flowed down as soon as her neck pressed against the blade of the knife. Uncle Zhang’s face changed slightly. Then, he heard Luo Wanqing whisper to warn him. “Half an hour. If he doesn’t come, I will defile him with my life!”
Uncle Zhang’s complexion shook. He looked up incredulously, not understanding how the gentle Luo Wanqing suddenly became aggressive. Looking at the woman before him with a few points of madness in her certainty, he gulped. After a long time, he nodded in panic: “Yes, I’ll go and invite the Young Master.”
Saying this, Uncle Zhang greeted the jailer next to him and hurriedly turned around to leave.
As soon as Uncle Zhang left, Luo Wanqing relaxed. Yao Zelan rushed forward. She grabbed Luo Wanqing’s hand and said anxiously, “What are you doing? Even if you’re upset with him, you can’t joke with your own life!”
Hearing these words, Luo Wanqing gave a start. She looked up at her mother with guilt and worry in her eyes. Remembering how she fell into her arms in her dream, her lips trembling. After a long time, she spoke hoarsely, “I’m sorry, mother, but I must see him.”
She had to see him.
Whether it was true or not, she had to see him.
She has to ask whether it’s false.
If it’s true — If it’s true —
A trace of ruthlessness flashed in Luo Wanqing’s eyes. She gripped the dagger in her hand and gritted her teeth in hatred – she would kill him with her bare hands!
Yao Zelan listened to her words but did not notice the hundred twists and turns of her emotions, only sighed: “You child ……” She seemed to want to scold her but then thought of her daughter’s feelings for Jiang Shaoyan. She thought she must be sad, so she did not dare to rub salt in her wounds and said: “No matter what, you can not do stupid things, do you understand?”
Luo Wanqing did not answer and pursed her lips. Yao Zelan still wanted to say something, but she saw Uncle Zhang walk in hurriedly.
“Miss,” Uncle Zhang happily said, “This way, please.”
Hearing this, Yao Zelan froze, somewhat in disbelief. “So fast?”
After saying this, Yao Zelan suddenly reacted and furiously shouted. “Jiang Shaoyan is here?!”
“Madam ……” Uncle Zhang smiled sarcastically, seemingly pondering how to explain to the furious Yao Zelan. However, Luo Wanqing was very calm. She raised her hand and pressed Yao Zelan, faintly saying, “Mother, don’t be angry. “
With that, she turned her head to look at the jailer and calmly said, “Open the door.”
The jailer glanced at Uncle Zhang, who nodded toward the other party. The jailer pondered a bit, seemingly thinking of the officer’s order, and finally opened the cell door for Luo Wanqing.
Luo Wanqing closed the dagger, turned her head to look at Yao Zelan, and appeased her with a sentence, “Mother, don’t worry. I’ll return after I ask,” Then, she followed Uncle Zhang with the dagger.
The jailer seemed to have received the news some time ago and didn’t care about them. Uncle Zhang guides her, explaining as he walks, “Young Master has just arrived as well. I said he couldn’t come, but I didn’t know that Young Master finished dealing with his affairs and rushed here to see you. You mustn’t let him down and misunderstand him ……”
Luo Wanqing did not put these words into her ears. Ultimately, it was a lie. She may believe it back then, but now she will not.
Everywhere is broken — no, it’s superficial.
But, the her in the dream believed these superficial words.
“Miss, we’re here.”
Uncle Zhang stopped ahead. Luo Wanqing paused, raised her eyes, and saw a small room with an open door. A person was sitting in the room, and one could see the corner of the other person’s exposed clothing.
“Young Master is already waiting for you inside. This old slave won’t go in, please.”
Luo Wanqing didn’t say anything. She gripped the dagger tightly and took a deep breath before moving forward. Entering the room, she felt the chilly wind carrying a cold scent, spreading it across the tip of her nose.
She raised her eyes. Behind the long table, a young man sat on the tutor’s chair. He wore a blue brocade robe with a jade crown securing his hair. His eyebrows lowered, looking at the teapot held in his scholarly hand. Tea poured down from the pot, stirring up white mist in the air.
“Miss.”
The sound of the water was loud and clear. He raised his head slowly. A pair of gentle, calm eyes reflected her shadow. He called her softly from afar, “You’re here.”
