Beast, Blue Blood - Chapter 29
Chapter 29
“Wait.”
Ha-yeon dismissed him with a single word and focused on driving. After a long while, to the point where an SUV following behind could be seen, he turned the bike’s head back and started riding in the original direction. Accelerating to maximum speed.
“What are you trying to do?”
Hisha asked loudly, but Ha-yeon cut him off firmly.
“Stay quiet. Don’t inter
The rear ends of the jammed cars quickly closed in again. It seemed like they were about to collide.
At that moment, as if nudging the bike, Ha-yeon tightened the bike with her legs while lifting the front with arm strength and recoil.
“…!”
Thud!
The bike flew to an unbelievable height and landed horizontally on a concrete median, starting to slide like skiing.
Clang clang clang!
Drivers sitting in the jammed cars below seemed to watch the sliding bike with eyes wide open.
However, according to the laws of physics, there was still a distance until the end of the jam, and the speed began to slow down. Nevertheless, Ha-yeon calmly turned the bike and landed it on the hood of a car.
Thud!
The windshield shattered, and screams came from inside the car. Hisha wanted to apologize, but the bike was already sliding down under the car, slipping through the spaces between cars. Finally, as the congestion cleared, the bike began to gain speed.
Seeing Ha-yeon speeding like a fish in water, Hisha knew as someone with similar physical abilities that this was not an impossible feat, but couldn’t help but speak.
“What on earth are you doing out there?”
Ha-yeon shrugged one shoulder slightly, saying nothing, and continued driving the bike.
At that moment, a familiar car’s rearview caught their eye.
“That car!”
Hisha pointed to a car in the four-lane.
“Get closer!”
Ha-yeon sent one car coming from the adjacent lane and smoothly crossed three lanes in a row. As she approached Eugene’s car, Hisha stood up on the saddle. The cars passed noisily beside them.
Then a shout came from the helmet speaker.
[Master! Sit down! Don’t stand on that!]
Though still caught up in the congestion, it seemed like they were watching them through a drone flying overhead. Hisha glanced down at Ha-yeon briefly.
“I guess you think I’m still nine years old.”
“Watching you, even a nine-year-old would be embarrassed! Run!”
Following her words, Hisha ran. At the same time, Ha-yeon slowed down the bike and slipped back out of sight.
Thud.
Hisha landed on Eugene’s car and grabbed the ceiling, tearing it off like a tin can.
Crash!
The ceiling made a terrifying noise as it was torn away.
“Eu…!”
In the moment he tried to look through the gap and shout, a muzzle inside was aimed in this direction and fired. Hisha barely dodged the bullet by tilting his head. Then, pressing the button on the side of his helmet, he showed his face and shouted.
“Don’t shoot! It’s me, I’m coming out!”
With a gun in hand, Eugene sitting in the seat widened her eyes.
“Hisha? How did you get out…”
As if already on a phone call, an urgent voice burst from the vehicle’s speaker.
[Director, Hisha Ivanov has escaped!]
Eugene narrowed her eyes. Hisha reached out to her and shouted.
“Let’s save the details for later. We need to get out quickly. It’s going to explode. Hurry!”
Without further questioning, perhaps due to various experiences from a young age, Eugene immediately reached out to him.
Hisha gripped Eugene’s arm and lifted her in one swift motion. Then, he removed his helmet, put it on her head, and embraced her. At that moment, there was silence, but his heightened senses detected an unfamiliar smell.
The smell of explosives.
Hisha jumped back with all his might. At the same time, the car exploded.
Bang.
Suspended in the air, Hisha was thrown backward by the explosion’s force and slammed into the front windshield of the trailing car.
Crack.
The front of the car was smashed in a spiderweb pattern. But fearing that he might be thrown forward when the car stopped, Hisha ignored the pain in his screaming back and kicked off with the recoil from his legs, flying into the air.
In that fleeting moment of suspension, the trailing cars slammed on their brakes, quickly coming to a halt, creating a space where he could land.
Thud! Screech!
Due to the acceleration, he was pushed back for quite some time before finally stopping.
Strangely, there seemed to be a moment of stillness. Then Hisha landed on the ground.
“Are you okay, Eugene?”
Eugene looked at him with a pale face. Her eyes, as if shocked, were tearful.
“Eugene…”
Trying to comfort her by covering her cheek, she immediately pushed him away, bent over, and began to vomit. Hisha widened his eyes.
“Eugene, are you okay?”
Hisha didn’t know what to do, but Eugene wasn’t in a state to answer.
After a while, Eugene took a deep breath and straightened up. Having spun at an angle she had never experienced in her life, her insides were completely overturned. Nothing came out, but she still felt queasy.
Looking at Hisha, she had a bewildered expression.
Seeing such inhuman physical abilities, she suddenly realized that Hisha wasn’t really human. What seemed like a vague and trivial concept was now a palpable reality.
“Eugene, could it be…”
Before Hisha could finish his sentence, a car stopped beside them, and the door opened. Suddenly, Ha-yeon shouted after abandoning the bike and getting into the car.
“Hurry up and get in before they get to station!”
Without a word, Hisha lifted Eugene into the car and made her get in. In the wave of emotions, Eugene got into the car. The car started as the door closed.
A silence fell inside the car. Eugene glanced around the quiet interior, and then her gaze stopped at Ha-yeon, who sat across from her with a rather uncomfortable expression.
“Are you…”
Finally, as if Hisha had just remembered, he tried to introduce Ha-yeon.
“Oh, let me introduce you. This is my cousin…”
“Ha-yeon Yachthund.”
Interrupting him, Eugene spoke.
“She’s Alex Yachthund’s daughter.”
Alex Yachthund. The leader of the Ivanov Clan, Ivan Ivanov’s first client (the person who received the blood) and a founding member of the MCTC, was a prominent figure who was the first of the Luax to rise to the rank of General.
According to rumors, he saw the rise of the new century ten times, and it was rumored that there were not enough armored divisions to face him as a master of swordsmanship.
Such a figure, whose mere existence seemed to glow with brilliance, had married and secretly birthed a child, and this cheeky young lady in front of Eugene was the one.
Eugene looked straight at Ha-yeon.
“And another mixed race of the Ivanov family.”
Hisha knew her as a cousin from a different family.
Suddenly, Ha-yeon looked frightened and said.
“Damn it, I was scared. Look at those eyes. I feel like I’ve already had my marrow pulled.”
Rather, Hisha looked at her as if he was amazed.
“Hey, you should close your mouth… And Eugene wouldn’t do such terrible things…”
But Eugene smiled and said.
“Do you want to donate?”
Hisha knew that Eugene was wearing a mask trying to dominate others with fear when dealing with others, but before he could say anything, Ha-yeon spoke in a tone that was no different from cursing.
“Get out.”
Eugene turned to Hisha.
“My cousin has a rough mouth.”
“Maybe it’s twisted right now, so I understand.”
When Hisha laughed helplessly, Eugene smiled.
“It seems like you should teach her how to respect adults.”
It felt like “a real adult has appeared,” but Ha-yeon snickered.
“What about adults…”
“For God’s sake, be quiet. Please.”
Hisha said, pulling the mask Ha-yeon had on her chin. Ha-yeon looked at him as if she were about to tear him apart, but for now, she shut her mouth. At that moment, Eugene looked out the car window and asked.
“Where are we going?”
“Home.”
It didn’t mean the Fuger-Dulloch mansion.
She thought she would say something, but Eugene didn’t say anything. Ha-yeon sneered sarcastically.
“It doesn’t seem like she’s crazy about getting out.”
“Because our house looks more dangerous than that house.”
It meant that planting a bomb was going to kill her. And if anyone were to profit from Eugene’s disappearance, it would undoubtedly be associated with the Fuger-Dulloch. Going back to the house or office was dangerous, not only for her but also for the servants or company employees.
Ha-yeon laughed sarcastically.
“It seems like you have a complicated family history.”
Eugene shrugged nonchalantly.
“There is no separate court assassin.”
* * *
The car entered the airstrip. A helicopter was waiting at the helipad.
Before getting off, Hisha spoke to Eugene.
“We can only go home by helicopter.”
Due to security reasons, all ground routes were completely blocked.
“Got it.”
Eugene replied casually and got out of the car. Hisha looked at Eugene’s departing figure with eyes that seemed to say ‘impressive.’ Ha-yeon, who got out of the car, either looked at him like he was crazy or didn’t.
After boarding the helicopter, not long after, a lush green ridge covered with dense forest appeared. At first glance, nothing could be seen, but as the helicopter gradually descended, a mansion nestled among natural rock formations like boulders emerged. The mansion seemed to be composed of several wings.
The helicopter landed at the helipad marked with an ‘H’. The door opened, and Hisha got off first. Then he turned around and reached out his hand.
“Grab it.”
“No hands, no feet?”
Ha-yeon retorted sharply, then swiftly jumped down. Although Hisha seemed to be saying ‘there it is’ with his eyes, he steadfastly kept his hand extended. Eugene silently took his hand and got off.
The helipad led to a low flight of stairs to the second floor of the house, and they were just about to head that way.
“Hisha!”
Someone shouted from above.
