Chu Wenfeng nodded, took out a bottle of pills from his sleeve, and handed it to Chu Guiyi.

Curious, Xie Shuci asked, “What’s a Spirit Gathering Pill?”

“This is Great King, a red snow wolf that looks like a puppy. Do you want to pet him?” Xie Shuci patted the dog’s head and picked him up.

The puppy fussed happily in Xie Shuci’s hands, trying to snuggle into his lap and even attempting to lick him. Remembering the dog’s mouth was just covered in blood, Xie Shuci recoiled in mild disgust, but Great King, eager and relentless, tried to climb onto his shoulder.

“This little guy…”

Just as Great King’s front paws reached Xie Shuci’s shoulder, ready to claim his spot, a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, pulling him off Xie Shuci.

Wiggling his bottom, Great King was just getting worked up when a big hand suddenly pressed on his forehead. He froze, looking up to see the human watching him with an amused expression.

That scared Great King out of his tantrum!

Finding this human terrifying, he didn’t want to stay in his arms any longer. Thinking quickly, he transformed into a two or three-year-old toddler, clambered into Xie Shuci’s lap, and clung tightly to his neck, looking anxiously at the nearby human.

The little child clung to Xie Shuci’s neck so tightly that a bit more force would have strangled him.
