Wrapped In Golden Branch - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Why aren’t you wearing any clothes?
The following day, the cool breeze of early autumn came through the window. Pei Yizhi had not slept all night, but he was not sleepy at all. He stared at the brocade curtain on top of the bed and emptied his mind before suppressing his crazy desire. A sweet and soft moan came to his ears, and the girl who was initially lying flat suddenly turned over. Perhaps it was a little cold, and she wanted to find a heat source, so she fell into the man’s hot arms in a daze.
Pei Yizhi was slightly stunned, and his whole body froze. He looked down at her dazzlingly white skin, smooth and delicate, like white jade. The girl’s faint, sweet fragrance filled his nose, causing his eyes to darken instantly. Suddenly, the g*nitals that had suffered all night without venting became stiff and swollen like an iron pestle.
When a hard object like a dagger pressed against her lower abdomen, the girl frowned slightly in a half-awake state. Once she opened her eyes, she saw the well-defined, solid muscles, and the masculine breath came to her face. The erotic scene of the man licking her between her legs last night was vivid in her mind, and Li Kangning blushed instantly. It was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop, so embarra$sing.
“You, why are you not wearing clothes…” she couldn’t help but whisper.
After saying that, she hurriedly looked down. Her bright red pajamas with dark dragon and phoenix patterns were intact, but the lapels were tied with a strange knot.
Li Kangning couldn’t rem*mber what happened after taking a bath last night.
Pei Yizi’s ears were red, “Princess, please forgive me. My pajamas got w*t last night.”
“Okay, don’t say it!” Li Kangning was so embarrassed that she quickly interrupted him. She had already recalled how his nightgown got wet. It was her —
Li Kangning’s heartbeat quickened as she glanced at the man’s thin lips with sharp edges. After a short pause, she called someone to help wash and change clothes. Ordinary brides had to pay respects to their parents-in-law and elders the following day. But Li Kangning was the Emperor’s daughter, so even if she got married, her parents-in-law and elders had to pay respects to her. To avoid such embarrassment, all princesses have tried to avoid meeting the elders of their husbands’ families. The rule of brides paying respects to their husbands naturally disappeared.
Li Kangning sat in front of the dressing table, and after a long pause, she said, “Prepare the carriage. I want to go back to the palace.”
“But you can only go back on the third day after your wedding,” Pei Lan said, looking embarrassed.
Zhi Lan, on the other side, retorted, “Princess is paying respects to the Emperor and the Empress, not to return home for three days.”
Zhi Lan didn’t like the current Prince Consort and wished the Princess would live in the palace for a long time.
Li Kangning’s eyes fell on Zhi Lan, thinking. Although Zhi Lan was less prudent than Pei Lan, she had served her for over ten years. Since she had that prophetic dream in the palace a few months ago, she had been paying attention to whether Zhi Lan was unusual. She even privately ordered the people of the Northern Office to investigate Zhi Lan’s background again carefully. But no matter how much they investigated, they never found any problems with her.
Pei Yizhi finished washing and changing clothes by himself. When he learned that the Princess would enter the palace, his breathing stagnated slightly, and his heart skipped a beat. He immediately followed in one step.
“What are you doing here?” Li Kangning looked at him suspiciously.
“I am escorting you to the palace.” Pei Yizhi looked serious.
Li Kangning pursed her lips, “There are guards following, so you don’t have to escort me. Didn’t you take up a position in the guard? Go and do your own thing.”
Pei Yizhi was awarded the t*tle of second-rank General of Cavalry, which was a military official. However, he had to take up another actual position to stay in the capital. Not long ago, the Emperor also appointed him as the vice commander of the Capital Guard, a fourth-rank officer, to assist the commander in managing the Capital Guard.
“Your Majesty has granted me a seven-day wedding leave.” Pei Yizhi added, “I feel uneasy if I don’t escort you personally.”
Last night, the Princess was hurt, and he couldn’t help but worry that she would return to the palace the day after her wedding and would no longer want him. Li Kangning found this funny, so she allowed him. It took only two-quarters of an hour for the carriage to get from the Princess’s mansion to the palace, and it stopped in front of the Luhua Palace, where the Empress lived. The Princess could enter without waiting for the order, but the Prince Consort was not.
Li Kangning entered directly into the palace, and Pei Yizhi stood motionless outside it. He was tall and robust, standing there like a small mountain. He clenched his fists and hid his dark eyes in the shadows, which were dim and difficult to see.
When Empress Kang learned that her daughter was coming to the palace, she sat on the couch and waited early. Concerned, she asked, “How is it, Ningning? Did you and your husband succeed last night?”
Li Kangning didn’t expect her mother to ask about this as soon as she came, and her face turned red immediately. She shook her head first, then nodded.
“What do you mean?” Empress Kang looked confused.
Li Kangning stammered, “It hurts a little; it didn’t go that far, but my husband…served me.” She was ashamed to say that word. It was too embarrassing.
Empress Kang immediately understood. She smiled and said, “Okay, you are only eighteen anyway. It won’t be too late in two years.”
If it truly worked, she would be worried that her daughter would get pregnant too early.
Empress Kang leaned close to her daughter’s ear again and whispered something in a low voice. Li Kangning’s already rosy cheeks became even redder, and her eyes were full of shock.
Seeing her daughter’s thin skin, Empress Kang smiled with curved eyebrows. She quickly changed the subject again. “You wanted to change your Prince Consort, and the one you chose was from the Huai’an Marquis’s Mansion, so dealing with Pei Yujin had to be postponed. Now that the dust has settled, your father said it’s time to deal with Pei Yujin.”
