When a Well-Raised Son Grows Up - Chapter 46
Chapter 46
“Mother?”
A confused Carlisle burst out. Unless something had happened to his ears, Abella had just called out to him.
He felt as if his heart was sinking to the bottom of his stomach.
But there was no excuse for flirting now, not with her already soaking wet cunt and his c*ck stuck in her hole.
Carlisle’s eyes widened as she felt the blood drain from her body.
“Uh, mom, are you awake?”
The voice that had been so excited a moment ago was shaking with nervousness. Carlisle lowered his head to look at Abella, not even thinking about pulling out his c*ck.
However, her eyes were still closed tightly.
Carlisle stared at her face for a long moment. It was as if he was trying to determine if she was asleep or not.
She let out a few more painful m*ans but said nothing more.
‘Was she just… talking in her sleep?’
The room went cold, filled with hot breath. Carlisle remained frozen, his c*ck still in her p*ssy.
Abella’s fine forehead wrinkled and unwrinkled a few times, and it wasn’t until he’d made sure she was asleep for so long that he finally stopped and pulled out of her.
‘Was I too… aggressive?’
‘Or has she developed a tolerance to the herbs and… ’
Carlisle thought and nervously started to clean up after himself. Fortunately, Abella’s breathing had calmed down again. He was relieved to hear the steady, rasping sound.
I’m pretty sure she was just sleeping tonight.’
He wasn’t sure how much longer she would stay asleep. If he continued to explore her body as casually as before, something might happen that he didn’t like.
His heart was still pounding from the surprise earlier. Carlisle finally managed to get between Abella’s legs before he could lie down again.
But that night, he couldn’t sleep.
Perhaps it was the fear of the present, or perhaps it was the fear of the future.
After a long tossing and turning, Carlisle sighed deeply and crawled into Abella’s arms.
He could have kept her by force, and he would have done anything for her right now. But that wasn’t what Carlisle wanted.
He wanted her to smile at him as she was doing now, to say caring and warming words.
‘Do you think it’s possible…?’
Carlisle chewed his lip with bitterness and held Abella’s panties tighter. Then, like a fool, he wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I want to be loved…” he said.
The faint, nearly silent voice slipped out, and Carlisle’s hold on her tightened.
They remained in that position for a bit longer before Carlisle finally found the strength to open his eyes.
The dawn seemed unusually long.
* * *
Throughout the day, Carlisle kept a vigilant eye on Abella, almost as if she were a thief.
Fortunately, the day passed without incident. Abella, as expected, mumbled in her sleep. But Carlisle couldn’t find any relief.
He reflected on the fact that his mother probably wasn’t in a deep sleep that night.
This realization disturbed him. Now, he thought, he could only satisfy his desires by sneaking around Abella at night and engaging in dubious activities.
Worries about what might happen if Abella developed resistance to the Nephra herb haunted Carlisle. He wondered how he would handle such a situation.
Carlisle’s expression turned serious.
He set the spoon down with a frown and let out a deep sigh.
‘Whatever it takes, I realized I have to work on our relationship to achieve my dreams. I can no longer be happy with the way things are.’
“Baby, what’s wrong? Don’t you have an appetite?”
Abella, who had been thinking about how to get him to eat more since she had recognized him as a good eater, blurted out her frustration.
“No, I think I was just a little bit stingy.”
“Stingy? Do you want me to help you and say it’s okay?”
At the mention of being sickl, Abella gasped and moved closer to Carlisle, trying to rub his tummy like a baby.
However, he quickly pushed her away, stating that he didn’t need her to do such things and emphasizing that he was no longer a child.
Carlisle didn’t want Abella to see him that way anymore. He pushed away her hand, which seemed like a motherly gesture from their childhood.
The unexpected reaction made Abella panic. She was used to Carlisle wanting her attention and touch.
Unable to hide her embarrassment, Abella pursed her lips and pulled her hand away, apologizing for her actions.
Seeing her blush, Carlisle regretted his reaction, but the awkward tension between them had already subsided.
He hadn’t meant to do this… Carlisle rolled his eyes at his smugness and scolded himself.
‘What an idiot I’ve been.’
To make up for it, he gently clung to the sagging Abella.
“Uh, mom, I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“Oh, well. I know. There’s no need to apologize; I’m the one who’s sorry.”
With that, Abella let out a small sigh. Just as Carlisle regretted his behavior, Abella took a moment of self-reflection.
‘I remember when Carlisle would suddenly give me a hug or put his arms around me and he would be so nervous…’
‘I was just trying to touch his stomach without thinking about it. What the hell is that supposed to mean? It’s stupid; I wasn’t thinking straight.’
‘If Carlisle had tried to touch my stomach without thinking, I would have freaked out too.’
Abella dropped her head, blaming herself for being so hypocritical. She was too embarrassed to make eye contact with Carlisle.
“Mother, why are you looking at the ground?”
But Abella’s look made Carlisle even more nervous. He felt even more helpless as he watched her avoid his eyes.
“I don’t feel uncomfortable or anything. It’s just that I don’t want to be seen as a child anymore.”
Carlisle tried to pretend to not know.
“I don’t usually pat my grown son on the stomach; that’s for kids.”
“That’s true, but…”
“I’m a grown man.”
Carlisle said, taking Abella’s hand gently.
“I want you to know that I’m not a kid anymore.”
As he said it, Carlisle’s eyes were quite serious and heavy, unlike when he was a child. There was a dirty lust in his heavily shadowed eyes. But Abella didn’t notice.
“Is that really the reason why you did it?”
“Yeah, because you still treat me like a child, and I don’t like that one bit.”
“I see.”
Well, judging by the way you changed her title from Mom to Mother… Abella rubbed her hands together and gave a small nod.
“I’m glad that’s the case, but… I’m still sorry.”
“Why are you so sorry about earlier?”
I realize that I always freak out when you touch my waist or my body, but I didn’t realize that I always do it to you.
Hearing her words, Carlisle raised an eyebrow and thought for a moment. Abella fell silent, finding it difficult to continue. She seemed embarrassed.
“Well, I didn’t think of it that way.”
Carlisle’s eyes narrowed, and a faint smile played on the corner of his mouth.
“Now that I think about it, that sounds a bit unfair.”
“It is, isn’t it? I’m sorry.”
Her pink lashes fluttered busily as she looked embarrassed and unsure of what to do. Finding it adorable, Carlisle slipped his hand through hers.
“And you shouldn’t worry too much about me. I’m not some little kid who can’t do anything without his mom.”
He smiled warmly, playfully rocking their joined hands from side to side. There was something intriguing in his red eyes as he looked down at her.
She swallowed hard and nodded gently. Then, in a low, soothing voice, he calmly said,
“Now it’s my turn, Mother.”
