- Chapter 4 - The Hunters (1) - Part 2
“You probably already know my name, but I’ll say it again. I’m Obella.”
“I’m Moa Ablon.”
“Alright, Moa Ablon. Lazis told me that you need my help. This place is safe from Zerdan thanks to our comrade’s abilities, so you can stay here for the time being. You’ve been through a lot, so rest today, and we can discuss the situation in detail tomorrow.”
“…Thank you. About Diswen…”
“There’s no need to feel guilty. It’s not your fault.”
He guided me to the room where Diswen had stayed and told me I could stay there for the time being.
The room was clean. Unlike Zerdan, the taciturn Obella didn’t bother with any pleasantries and left without another word.
Seeing where he went, it seemed he lived in the same mansion. I remembered the door he went through and then entered my room.
Looking around, I opened the wardrobe and found both outdoor and indoor clothes.
The indoor clothes were flashy and quite revealing, matching her stylish and bold taste.
I picked out a relatively plain indoor outfit but then remembered something. Come to think of it, this game could be completed by targeting just one character, right?
Zerdan and Lazis weren’t easy targets.
But what about that man? As the main male lead, his difficulty level shouldn’t be too high.
Thinking this, I smiled.
I put the plain indoor clothes back and picked up a dress instead. It was a pink silk indoor dress.
The fabric felt nice and thin, and when I put my hand inside the skirt, it was slightly see-through. Perfect.
I quickly undressed and slipped into the dress. The fabric clung to my figure in a flattering way.
I smiled at my reflection in the mirror.
This is for the ending. Physical closeness leads to emotional closeness.
Satisfying my desires was just a bonus.
I didn’t hesitate.
Humming lightly, I walked to the room Obella had gone to. I didn’t know how many people were in the house, but it seemed like only Obella and I were in this hallway. There were no other signs of life.
I knocked. There was no “Who is it?” from inside, just a brief sound of movement before the door opened.
Obella, who seemed to be in the middle of changing, looked down at me with his expressionless face.
His shirt was unbuttoned three buttons down, revealing his well-toned body.
Zerdan looked great in a black shirt, but this man in a white shirt was just as breathtaking.
What did these brothers eat to grow up so well?
“…What is it?”
Obella asked. His voice was neutral, but I could sense his irritation.
We hadn’t talked much yet, but he was a righteous character who wanted to stop Zerdan’s reckless killing.
If Zerdan saw relationships with women lightly, his brother’s character setting was likely the opposite.
Blatantly seducing him like Zerdan would probably backfire or make him suspicious. I made myself look as small and scared as possible, lowering my eyes.
“I’m sorry… I was just scared to be alone… What if Zerdan comes back…?”
“If that’s the case, I can call another woman for you.”
As he made a move to leave, I quickly grabbed his sleeve. I could feel his gaze on me, and I looked up at him with an innocent expression.
Good thing I didn’t go for a tough girl look.
“Just for a moment… If I could stay with you for a bit, I’ll go back… Please.”
Holding onto his sleeve with both hands, as if earnestly pleading, I pressed my chest together. Only then did Obella take a look at my outfit.
“…Do as you wish.”
“Thank you, Bella.”
As I followed him into the room, his normally stoic face showed a hint of displeasure at my use of his nickname. He didn’t like being called Bella, did he?
But I ignored it and looked around the room.
“It’s neat. Do you stay here with your comrades, Bella?”
“Only a few who have nowhere else to go live here.”
He answered diligently enough, but he seemed bothered as he sat down at the small table and chairs beside the bed, sighing.
I must be annoying him since he couldn’t wash up or change clothes.
I sat down across from him. The short dress exposed half of my thighs, but he didn’t give me a second glance. He just crossed his legs and looked away.
“I see. Bella, you’re a kind person, giving what you have to others. Thanks to you, I feel safe. I was really scared… not knowing when I might be killed.”
How can I make him pay attention to me, this man, this character?
I haven’t played many dating sim games, but most guys are drawn to girls who trigger their protective instincts.
Though he’s not my type…
“I was really… scared.”
I clasped my hands together, looking as if I might cry at any moment. Slowly separating my clasped hands subtly so it wouldn’t look awkward.
Finally, Obella looked at me. I carefully reached out and placed my hand on his, resting on the table. He didn’t pull away.
“Please protect me… I feel like I can trust you. You can protect me from Zerdan…”
“You’re a quick one to gather information, aren’t you?”
“…What?”
He placed his other hand over mine, not strong but with noticeable pressure. His gaze was piercing.
“How do you know Zerdan’s name? He wouldn’t have given that information willingly.”
He was suspicious of me.
Now that I think about it, when Zerdan was talking with his group, he did mention that few knew his name.
I tried to maintain a frightened demeanor.
“I overheard their conversation… That’s all I know…”
“People usually ask if you have family at home, not if you live with colleagues.”
I made a mistake.
I had assumed the leader would be either foolish or average, thinking of Diswen, but he turned out to be more intelligent than expected.
Well, he is Zerdan’s brother, after all.
But there was no sense of menace, just wariness.
Ah, how sad.
Tears welled up in my eyes, and I sniffled audibly.
“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to lie… I heard it from Zerdan… When he captured me, I stayed in his room, and he was kind to me… But I realized his intentions were for my body, so I tried to avoid upsetting him as much as possible… That’s how I learned things.”
Tears dripped onto the table.
Ah, how fragile I must look. Though in truth, I was saddened by the thought that I might not have a passionate night with him.
“Please believe me, Bella… You’re the only one I can trust right now…”
Right now, the important thing was to dispel his suspicion. If I were thrown out, I’d have nowhere to go and no way to escape Zerdan’s threat. I had to cling on as much as possible until I found another option.
Fortunately, Obella seemed unable to continue questioning a crying woman. He frowned, but eventually released my hand. I quickly wiped my tears, murmuring apologies.
“I understand.”
His words were brief, but it was clear he no longer suspected me.
I held back a smile, apologized once more, and slowly stood up to return to my room. Luckily, he didn’t stop me, and I made it back to my room safely.
‘I need to be more careful.’
Only after returning to my room did I breathe a sigh of relief. My lustful desires had led me to make a mistake I normally wouldn’t have made.
Unfortunately, I’d need to be cautious for a while. I had hoped to progress quickly.
I lightly clicked my tongue and decided to rest for the day.
