“Bella, are you trying to seduce me?”
“I’m not denying it.”
“You’re honest. Do you want to be with me again because you enjoyed it last time?”
I pressed my forehead against his.
Our faces were so close.
Obella’s golden eyes gazed at me intently. His lips lightly pressed against mine and then pulled away.
It was just a light peck, not even a kiss, but it caught me off guard, and I widened my eyes. Obella smiled. It was a dangerously charming smile, especially from this close.
“Moa Ablon, I like you, and I want to be with you. Even if we don’t get intimate, just being by your side makes me happy.”
Was he always this affectionate and smiling? And to say such things that one might say to a lover…
The Obella before me seemed like a completely different person from the aloof man I first met. It almost made me wonder if Diswen was secretly brainwashing Obella.
“…I just felt a little fluttered. Bella, do you know you’re handsome? If you keep showing me that smile up close, I might fall for you.”
“Then I should smile more often.”
“It’s unusual. Why the sudden change? Could it be that you have fallen for me?”
When I squinted at him, Obella didn’t deny it. Instead, he leaned in and kissed me again. Unlike before, it was a deep kiss.
At first, I hesitated, but soon wrapped my arms around his neck and intertwined my tongue with his. After a moment, struggling to breathe, I gently bit his lower lip.
As I pulled away, he seemed unsatisfied, his intense gaze still fixed on my lips. The look in his eyes was almost scorching.
“Calm down, Bella. You’re not planning to ravish me here, are you? We don’t know when the others might return. Although, that might add a bit of thrill.”
“…Hah.”
Obella hesitated for a moment, then sighed.
As I said, there was always the possibility that Terisier or Anise might return unexpectedly, and it would be awkward for both of us if things got any more heated.
Obella’s hand, which had wandered to my behind, reluctantly withdrew as he stood up. He was ar*used, with his pants noticeably bulging.
As I looked at it with interest, Obella covered it with his hand.
How cute. Is he trying to hide it?
I considered following him as he left but decided to wait as I heard the voices of returning people. As Obella mentioned, staying in his room didn’t seem like a bad option after all.
“You never get tired of this! Every time we see you, you’re running away!”
The loud voices signaled that Terisier’s group had returned. They must have found the person they were looking for rather quickly.
Terisier, who was the first to enter, looked puzzled to find me alone in the living room. I spoke up first.
“Bella went to his room for something, and Anise went to get some things from home. Mummy Man is accompanying her for safety.”
“…Alright. I’m tired, so I’ll head to my room. Call me if anything comes up.”
He seemed quite exhausted.
Listening to the noisy voice of Phel behind him, it seemed like the fatigue was from his company.
I watched Terisier, who walked to his room wearily, then turned my gaze to Phel as she entered. She was accompanied by a man with a dazed expression and soft, light brown hair, fluffy like cotton candy.
His hair looked so soft that I wanted to touch it. This must be Sidon, the man Obella mentioned. He seems younger than I expected. He looks about my age.
The man, held by the nape of his neck by Phel, looked quite lethargic. Though he stood with his shoulders drooping, he was still noticeably shorter than the rather tall Phel.
If he stood up straight, he might be quite tall. Even with his dazed expression, he looked somewhat cute.
“…Well, I’m not a doctor, you know.”
“But you’re aiming to be a doctor, so you must know more than us! You should understand our situation and abilities better! There are no external injuries, but it feels inappropriate to show him to a general doctor.”
The man protested quietly, but Phel seemed indifferent, continuing to speak and pushing him along.
Reluctantly nudged by Phel, the man headed upstairs, presumably to the room where Diswen was staying.
As he pa$sed through the living room, his gaze briefly lingered on me.
Was it because he saw someone new?
He met my eyes for a moment, but soon looked disinterested, and was pushed up the stairs by Phel.
Curious about Diswen’s condition and the ident*ty of this new person, Sidon, I decided to follow them.
When I opened the door, I found a beautiful person lying motionless with her eyes closed. Diswen, with her black, wavy hair spread out, looked lifeless.
Seeing Sidon, who was reluctantly pushed into the room by Phel, his expression hardened briefly as he checked on the unconscious figure.
“It’s been said that she was attacked by Zerdan’s ability and hasn’t regained consciousness. I don’t know the reason. There don’t seem to be any external injuries, but Sidon, can you take a look?”
It seemed that Phel didn’t see Sidon’s expression change. His face, usually dazed, turned cold as he examined the situation.
He stood in silence for a moment, then nodded. When he looked back at Phel, his face had returned to its usual blank expression.
“I’ll take a look, but I can’t focus with Phel here.”
“Why? Are you nervous because I’m here?”
Phel gave him a sly look and slapped his back a few times, which seemed to genuinely hurt him, judging by the grimace on his face.
When Phel ruffled his fluffy hair, he gave a slightly irritated look and pushed her hand away. He calmly explained to Phel, who was misunderstanding the situation.
“It’s noisy.”
“…Ah, I see. I’ll leave if my presence is a disturbance.”
Despite the bluntness of his words, Phel, seemingly used to such directness, moved away with a slightly sullen expression.
Once she left the room, the space fell silent, and the man sighed.
“Aren’t you going to leave?”
“Can’t I stay quietly? I’m curious.”
Seeing Sidon’s gaze turn towards me, I smiled and spoke.
I was prepared to leave if asked, but after briefly looking at me, he seemed to give silent permission to stay and turned his gaze back to Diswen. He squatted by her side, observing her quietly for a long time.
Are they lovers? Or is it unrequited love?
However, there was no sign of affection in Sidon’s eyes as he looked at Diswen.
It felt like something hard to describe in words. It didn’t seem to be mere camaraderie.
Sidon’s hand touched Diswen’s forehead. After briefly feeling her forehead, he reached out to take her wrist. Was he checking her pulse?
Since he was turned away while holding her wrist, it was hard to determine exactly what he was doing. As I moved to the side, he stood up.
“There’s no significant issue with her body. She just lost consciousness. She should regain her senses today or tomorrow.”
“That’s a relief. The others will be glad to hear that.”
“Well, my work here is done, so I’ll head back.”
“Not going to say goodbye?”
“I dislike noisy things. And I don’t like bothering with unnecessary formalities.”
Indeed, from how he had treated Phel earlier, it seemed like he would have disliked it even more if she had come to see him off.
Nodding silently, I watched as he once again gazed at Diswen without a word.
What is this feeling?
“I heard your name is Sidon. Since we’ve met, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Moa Ablon, and I’ll be staying here from now on.”
“Yeah. I’ll hardly be involved, so we won’t see each other much. I’m just a normal person who helps out occasionally.”
“I’ve heard from others. So, you’re a non-ability user.”
“That’s right. I just help out with treatments now and then. Well then, I’ll be going. Please pass on my regards to the others.”
He seemed uncomfortable even with this brief interaction. Or perhaps it was just a nuisance to him.
I watched him leave with his hands in his pockets and then shifted my gaze back to Diswen. Somehow, she seemed to look a bit better than before.
A non-ability user.
There was something subtly intriguing about him.
