“Obella, isn’t it time for us to go?”
Suddenly, the size of Phel’s shield shrinks to cover only her body. Noticing something unusual, she hurriedly spoke to Obella.
Obella’s gaze shifted to the rooftop. Anise’s power was cut off, and their only long-range support was gone.
“Were there other enemies besides those two just now? What should we do? It doesn’t seem like Terisier has appeared yet; should we retreat?”
Phel asked urgently, and Obella replied.
“Phel, you go check the rooftop alone.”
“What about you? The one in the middle can’t be attacked by you and might call more reinforcements. Plus… Zerdan hasn’t appeared yet.”
Phel’s gaze moved to Khan, who was standing leisurely.
Certainly, with Khan’s abilities, he could call for more reinforcements. In that case, Phel couldn’t leave the situation. However, they couldn’t just leave Phel alone.
As Obella didn’t repeat his words, Phel sighed. After glancing at the enemy team, she quickly ran off.
Khan stopped the organization members who tried to follow Phel.
“It’s fine. You don’t need to follow.”
“But……”
“There’s nothing to gain by going.”
A black shadow appeared in front of Khan. When Obella looked at the shadow, a handsome man with black hair emerged from it.
A handsome man who resembled Obella but had a different aura.
Zerdan, who appeared with a sharp gaze, was facing Obella.
Obella’s eyes turned fierce at Zerdan’s appearance.
“Shouldn’t you show a bit more joy at meeting your brother?”
At Zerdan’s brazen attitude, a streak of light shot out from Obella’s fingertips. The light, moving at such a high speed towards Zerdan, was difficult to follow with the eyes.
But Zerdan, showing no intention of evading, stood still.
As the light was about to reach him, a shadow appeared in front of him, and two puppets revealed themselves.
Ignoring the puppets that took the lightning strike from Obella instead of him, Zerdan spoke.
“That’s too much. I was just greeting you, and you’re already attacking?”
“Were you the one who told them to attack?”
“Are you talking about the two from Bella’s group? They did attack the strange man with the bandages, but disappeared while attacking the Opera Queen. Quite a skill, receiving cooperation from Lazis as well.”
He heard that Lazis acted according to Moa Ablon’s demands, but he wondered if there might be a connection with Obella as well.
Realizing that there was no change in Obella’s expression, Zerdan understood it wasn’t the case. It seemed to be an event prepared by Moa Ablon without Obella’s knowledge.
He didn’t expect Lazis’s help; she’s quite an impressive woman.
“There should have been one more person, right?”
He thought he would ask about the man who attacked, but he seemed more concerned about the other one. Unlike the man, there didn’t seem to be a formal relationship, so why the concern?
He knows Obella values his own people, but what does this mean?
Zerdan felt an odd sensation.
What is this feeling? It’s unsettling for no reason.
“She was still alive before coming down, but with significant bleeding, I don’t know if she’ll hold on until that companion returns.”
“That woman didn’t directly harm you, but you attacked an innocent person?”
“Bella, it seems you’re misunderstanding something… That young lady gathered our location information and then informed us that the Opera Queen was cooperating with you. She knew full well what we were going to do.”
At Zerdan’s gesture, Khan nodded. Soon, a black shadow appeared in front of Obella. Obella hurriedly became alert, but the person revealing was familiar, causing his eyes to widen.
“It’s a gift. We promised to return it if you came looking for us.”
The woman lying on the ground was Diswen. She appeared to be unconscious, lying weakly with her eyes closed.
Obella quickly checked if she was breathing and confirmed that she was exhaling weakly.
“Don’t worry, she’s not dead.”
“Did you think this would make what you did any less wrong?”
Zerdan laughed at Obella’s words. There was neither affirmation nor denial, just continuing to speak to Obella.
“Bella, my dear brother. The goal is achieved, so what will you do now? Will you protect your unconscious companion while fighting alone? Or will you escape with the companions above?”
“Zerdan…”
Obella called out Zerdan’s name with a voice suppressed by anger. But Zerdan seemed not to care much.
Behind him, Khan used his abilities to summon a larger number of people than before.
Despite the anger, it was time to make a calm decision. Obella was worried not only about Diswen but also about the condition of his companions above.
Seeing that Obella no longer moved, Zerdan waved his hand to Khan with a look of knowing it would turn out this way.
Indicating a retreat, Khan nodded and made all the puppets he summoned disappear.
“What about the ones above?”
“Leave them. Instead, take care of the puppets inside. We were planning to move to a new location anyway, so we’ll just move up the timeline a bit.”
“…Wouldn’t it be better to deal with Obella here?”
“Obella won’t be a threat to us unless he’s willing to sacrifice his companions. Even capturing just one hostage would make him crumble easily. It’s both his strength and his weakness, so it’s a pity.”
Zerdan looked at Obella. At his feet, Khan’s shadow was appearing.
“But it’s fortunate, Bella. What we’ve lost this time isn’t a companion but just a spy.”
“…Even if she was a spy, she gave us real information. The fact that you threatened her life means she did something to provoke you, which suggests she didn’t act like a real spy.”
“So what?”
“I’ll make sure Moa Ablon doesn’t die. And I intend to welcome her as our true companion.”
Obella, holding Diswen, stood up and glared at Zerdan. The shadow had climbed up to Zerdan’s shoulders.
“And there’s still something I haven’t given yet.”
Obella smiled.
The image of Moa Ablon asking for his body came to mind.
Zerdan, who had been smiling, wiped the expression off his face and furrowed his brow.
