The Villainess Captured The Grand Duke - Chapter 78
Chapter 78
Come to think of it, Sevi didn’t choose a date despite sending many letters standing by. Considering the farewell speech today, I should probably urge him before he leaves. Scheuer casually responded to Solle’s question,
“I’ll pick it up soon. I’ve been busy, so it got delayed.”
“Probably… I haven’t seen you lately, and it seems you’re quite busy.”
“Really?”
It seemed like more than just not wanting to come out, but Scheuer held back from saying more. Speaking further might turn Tofad’s face on the opposite side red and blue. Nevertheless, the meal ended happily with Scheuer and Solle having a cozy conversation. There couldn’t have been a more comfortable meal in this atmosphere.
“Naveed, can’t you take a look at the festival streets?”
“I wanted to go too! You seemed so busy, I even stayed up all night crying!”
His face turned red as he followed behind. They planned to stroll around while enjoying the festival. Whether it was a demon attack or an internal problem in the palace, it was a distant matter for most imperial citizens. The lively voices of children, the antics of merchants, and the complete absence of shadows created a relaxing atmosphere.
A small ball rolled towards her. Tock! Naveed swiftly blocked the ball with his sword.
“It’s just a ball.”
“He said to check everything, even if it’s just a ball.”
“Overprotection. Kids should be raised a bit tougher originally.”
Before Scheuer finished speaking, a small voice was heard.
“My ball!”
A child rushed over and picked up the ball that bounced away with hands like ferns. Apologizing, the surprised parents hugged and greeted the child.
“Sorry. I told him, “no playing with balls outside.”
Despite the reassurance, the parents sternly scold the child a few more times.
Observing their beautiful interaction, I remained silent. However, Naveed made a commotion.
“Are you okay? How about I step behind you?”
“Stepping back because of a ball!”
Looking surprised, she scolded Naveed, who just grinned.
“I thought your gaze was a bit intense, so I wondered if you were uncomfortable.”
Only then did Scheuer realize that she had applied quite a bit of force to her face. Awkwardly brushing her forehead with her hand, she quickened her pace, and Naveed hurriedly followed her. In the crowd, she recognized a familiar face. Scheuer grabbed Naveed by the nape of his neck and pushed him against the wall. Without holding her or refusing, Naveed stammered,
“Your Highness! I, I, pledged my life to my lord…”
“Yes, you have to dedicate your life to the Duke. Understood?”
“Yes?”
Scheuer only leaned out her head and glanced back at the square. It was Silcaro. His golden hair was so dazzling that even the robe couldn’t cover it. She belatedly realized that today was his birthday.
“If it’s his birthday, he must be on a date with Erina.”
Originally, Scheuer would have disturbed the date, and Silcaro would have kept Erina waiting for a long time. Now there were no more interferences; he would probably meet Erina early. Having glanced around, Scheuer couldn’t see Erina. Naveed, who noticed him belatedly, exclaimed,
“Oh, I see someone waiting. A date, perhaps?”
“I can’t even meet the Duke.”
Feeling unfairly treated, Scheuer grumbled quietly. Naveed tried to comfort her,
“Don’t worry! His Lordship probably wanted to do that too.”
“That’s right. The Duke works, and some are on a date, making it a bit unfair…”
Behind Scheuer’s voice, a soft voice overlapped.
“Miss Scheuer?”
Instantly, the slow Naveed beamed and greeted,
“Hello!”
Scheuer glared at him with curses in her eyes, but he, oblivious, continued smiling. Scheuer took a deep breath, smiled broadly, and replied,
“It seems you also came to see the festival. What a coincidence to meet in a place like this.”
The person in the robe touched the awkward edge and gently smiled.
“Oh, it seems my robe gives me away. Everyone recognizes me.”
Scheuer found it more remarkable that he thought people wouldn’t recognize him with that appearance.
Scheuer felt like avoiding the situation because she didn’t want to hear unpleasant comments again if Erina appeared. Politely offering greetings, she said,
“Congratulations on your birthday, have a pleasant time.”
Just as she was about to turn away, Silcaro called her,
“Miss Scheuer. Do you have some time?”
“No?”
Naveed tilted his head in surprise and asked,
“Didn’t you say you wanted to take a walk until just now?”
When she suddenly stepped on his foot, a high-pitched voice like ultrasound flowed out. But Silcaro had already heard it.
“Fortunately. You seemed a bit stuffy as if you were in the wind.”
“But, won’t you come later?”
Where the hell was Erina, and what was she doing to not come even though everything was set up? Silcaro was smiling with an expression that revealed nothing.
“It seems a bit boring to wait forever. Shall we be companions, even if briefly?”
“I have another appointment.”
“Until the next appointment, then. Would that be enough?”
Despite her clear expression of dislike, he persistently made the request. Was this the feeling Raygrain experienced when he saw her? It was quite irritating. People who came to the festival were slyly glancing at him, not realizing he was the crown prince. Moreover, they were behaving rudely, blocking the path in front of him.
“It might be better to change locations.”
“Oh, it’s not good manners to let a lady stand.”
This is why those royal guys are no good. Scheuer realized how irritating it was when someone blocked the way on the street. Clearly, people from everywhere would have made way for him, so it was natural. Not wanting to point it out, Scheuer followed him quietly.
Sitting in front of the fountain, he took out a handkerchief and prepared a seat with it. When Naveed took out a special cloth from his chest, he briefly put it back.
“You came all the way to the center, and I’m sorry if I made the Duke too grand.”
“It’s okay. Instead, I would appreciate it if you could send me back quickly.”
“Haha, sorry, but that seems a bit difficult.”
He looked at the festival scenery in front of him.
“Ah, I received the gift you sent. It was said to be very difficult to obtain.”
It seemed that the gift Gorfel gave was delivered to him through Ragrain.
“Just present it in the Duke’s name. Why did you honestly tell him about it…”
Scheuer silently shed tears in her heart at his actions, which were too honest in such a situation.
She smiled casually and said,
“I’m glad you liked it.”
“People were so surprised after receiving it.”
Indeed, it should have been returned to the Duke’s palace.
Scheuer, who was busy looking for a red-haired person among many people, had no peace of mind.
Originally, around this time, Erina should have come out early to wait for Silcaro.
Now that they were getting closer, the intervening herself was quite uneasy.
Before her, a black shadow loomed.
Red robe, black uniform.
“Is this the scheduled dinner with Lady Solle?”
Shuer stood up abruptly.
“Your Highness!”
“Solle will be…”
His sharp eyes were demanding the truth from her.
“Smile Love”
