The Villainess Captured The Grand Duke - Chapter 45
Chapter 45
“Wow, I locked eyes with the Grand Duke right from the morning.”
She smiled happily as soon as she woke up.
“Such a trivial thing.”
“I’m feeling lucky today. Somehow, it feels like it’s going to be a good day.”
Raygrain got up from the bed, listening to her words.
Scheuer also tried to get up but realized belatedly that she had fallen asleep in his clothes. She looked at the crumpled clothes and sighed.
She attempted to straighten her messy bun with her hands, but the wrinkles remained.
Even though the maids would fix it, it was uncertain whether the complex attire could be perfectly restored.
As Scheuer took off the clothes in a somewhat indifferent manner and handed them to the attendant, Raygrain asked,
“I thought you’d resist. You took them off willingly.”
“Of course. You’re the one wearing what I used to wear.”
Scheuer replied, brushing off the now empty sleeve.
“I even put on perfume yesterday.”
“Flowers are not enough; now it’s perfume.”
Still, recalling the last banquet, those flowers seemed to have some effect. Although it was just a one-sided attraction to the opposite sex, it seemed to have been quite popular among men.
After finishing his preparations for the martial training ground, Raygrain spoke to her.
“In the north, the scent might attract demons. Be cautious.”
“Yes!”
He didn’t explicitly tell her not to use it. Scheuer smiled slightly and prepared to follow him.
However, being later than Raygrain, Scheuer hurried. Watching her, he thought it might not work and left the room first.
“When you’re ready, come out.”
“Let’s go together!”
“I’ll wait.”
When the door closed with a thud, she was already fully prepared.
Scheuer, opening the door and rushing out, found Jess holding a bouquet of flowers. The lively flowers in contrast to Jess made his eyes roll, and he pointed behind Scheuer.
Soon, a dry voice was heard from behind.
“You came out quickly.”
Scheuer smiled broadly, turning around to face him.
When she turned around, Raygrain, wearing light clothing, was looking at her.
He just nodded toward the direction of the martial training ground.
“Let’s go.”
Jess, who had waited for this moment, handed him the bouquet.
Raygrain passed it on to her again.
“Today, you carry the bridal bouquet.”
“Thank you!”
Following closely behind Raygrain’s light steps, Scheuer occasionally ran to keep up with him.
Jess followed behind them. Scheuer asked while following Raygrain with light steps.
“Can you freely use the martial training ground as in the North?”
“With Zelos Bellion, you can.”
Vaguely, she remembered. Zelos was the older brother of Jess, who was currently the overall commander of the Central Knights.
Curious, Scheuer asked,
“Wouldn’t it be better if you were more like Jess, handsome and all?”
Jess, following behind, muttered in a tired voice,
“Why are you asking about our brother?”
“Your voice is more pleasant to listen to than Jess’s. It’s deep, resonant, and calm.”
At the bold response, Jess’s face naturally contorted. Raygrain casually replied after glancing at Jest.
“I don’t know.”
Certainly, Zelos had a southern style, but due to his exhausted appearance, he seemed to be overshadowing his own charm.
Scheuer, feeling sorry, patted his shoulder and comforted him,
“It’s okay, Jess. You’ll look healthier and better if you regain some color.”
“If Your Highness could reduce the number of bouquets, I might get more sleep.”
“Oh… But I can’t make that concession.”
Sighing, Scheuer felt Jess’s face grow even paler. Simultaneously, a strange chill passed down her spine.
Now that she looked around, the scenery she hadn’t noticed due to her focus on Raygrain was revealed. People were moving back and forth in the corridors more than when she first arrived.
It was too early for it to be just attendance for Raygrain’s welcome party.
Scheuer lowered her voice, glancing at Raygrain,
“Your Grace, is there something happening today?”
“I haven’t heard anything.”
Did he mean that he would soon hear about it? The attendants around were grouped in twos and threes, exchanging conversations with a sense of unease.
“Is it true?”
“It’s scary… but could it be true?”
“Surely not.”
In the uncertain atmosphere, they maintained silence as they moved, finally arriving at the martial training ground.
For some reason, Zelos seemed to have a slightly better complexion.
Blenga’s martial training ground was excellent, but the Imperial Palace was the Imperial Palace. It had a place and well-trained knights fitting the name of the Walker Empire.
Estimating the numbers was difficult, and as soon as they entered, a chilling oppression was felt.
‘Well, this was expected. As long as Erina is the second-in-command.’
The air inside the training ground, combined with the uneasiness she felt in the corridor, felt more formidable.
However, despite the intimidating atmosphere, the sounds of bustling were faint. Raygrain strode through the martial training ground without any concern.
Numerous knights respectfully lowered their heads, and Raygrain’s followers moved quietly. Following him, Scheuer felt a strange tranquility in the oppressive air.
She asked in a low voice,
“Is it okay for you to use the martial training ground as you like, unlike in the North?”
“Jess, you say.”
He added with a friendly smile unlike Jess’s.
“Usually, it’s about complaining.”
Scheuer mumbled with a pout.
“That’s fine.”
“Oh, are you not scolding me?”
“I might complain about my superior.”
Originally, even the Emperor was said to receive complaints where there was no one.
“But if Your Grace complains, I’ll get water thrown at me.”
Watching Scheuer reveal her teeth like a growling puppy, Jess chuckled as if showing a face that seemed to say he didn’t really believe that would happen.
Meanwhile, Zelos looked disappointed.
Even in that moment, it felt like the surrounding knights were pretending not to be interested but were paying attention to their conversation.
Scratching the back of his head as if embarrassed, Zelos pointed to a shaded staircase and said,
“Since there are only knights here, the facilities are a bit rudimentary. How about creating a seat for the lady? You know, to call the court lady to sit.”
“Your Grace, where is the best seat?”
“The best seat?”
“Yes!”
With Scheuer’s energetic response, he slowly stroked his chin and said,
“Then, it would be in the center.”

“The festival grounds had no canopy to shield the sky, allowing the sun to shine directly. Although the characteristic morning chill lingered, even that had dissipated in the fervor of the knights. On the outskirts, a bit away from the center, I waited, holding a bouquet of flowers. A young, inexperienced knight, unable to shed the aura of a novice, brought me a chair.”
