The Villainess Captured The Grand Duke - Chapter 0
There is a saying, “Turning misfortune into a blessing,” meaning that not everything in life ends in disaster. Could there be a more perfect word for this moment?
Scheuer felt a wave of emotion in the somewhat rustic reception room. How many people in this world get to see a character from a novel come to life right before their eyes?
“From the South, no less. What brings Lady Netri all the way to the North?”
His cool gaze took her in. Seeing her reflection in his blue eyes, she felt a lump in her throat, and her lips quivered slightly. In contrast, his face showed no trace of emotion. The bleak northern landscape visible beyond the window only added to the chill of his expression.
Of course, such a background was no different from a flower garden to Scheuer.
Tightly embracing the chicken that poked its head out of her robe, she opened her mouth, filled with excitement.
“Are you really, really Duke Raygrain Blenga?”
She couldn’t believe that the very image she had always imagined was now unfolding right in front of her eyes. The character she had only seen in writing had become a reality.
As Scheuer’s mouth gaped wider, a deep voice responded,
“Yes.”
Though she had suddenly barged in, he responded to the uninvited guest without looking surprised or flustered.
His face was as neat as if it were painted, and even his seated posture was upright.
Scheuer, with trembling hands, took the chicken out from under her robe and asked,
“Do you like eggs by any chance?”
“Since when did roosters lay eggs?”
“Then, do you like chicken dishes?”
“……”
“Oh, don’t worry. A merchant who gave me a ride in his carriage gave it to me as a gift on the way here.”
Despite Scheuer’s questions, he remained silent. In the brief stillness, only the faint sound of the chicken’s cluck could be heard.
Even in this situation, her beloved idol remained indifferent. It wasn’t a matter of patience; he didn’t seem to be disturbed at all. His face, as frozen as the northern winter, seemed strangely inhuman. Yet, perhaps due to Raygrain’s handsome features, even his coldness appeared perfect to Scheuer.
As she set down the chicken, she rubbed her hands together.
“Your Grace, can I just hold your hand once?”
“What are you trying to do now?”
“Or at least an autograph, or even your seal, would be great. I’ll keep it as a memento.”
Raygrain remained as still as a statue. Instead, his sharp gaze scrutinized her entire body. She winked playfully, but his face didn’t show the slightest hint of movement. He simply observed her as if he were studying her.
Feeling embarrassed, Scheuer twisted her body slightly and said,
“When did our Duke become so beautiful? My only wish would be to hug you once.”
“Remove her.”
Clank.
The knights waiting behind her seized her. As the startled Scheuer flailed her arms, the chicken, which had been wandering around the rug, fluttered into the air.
“Wait, wait! Just a moment! Okay, okay. I’ll get straight to the point!”
Desperately, Scheuer took a ring from her robe and held it out to him.
“Duke, please marry me!”
At her words, Raygrain’s eyelids twitched.
