The Queen of Villains - Chapter 7 part 1
All preparations for the imperial palace party were completed. Even their outfits were specially tailored by a famous designer named ‘Thierry Loesto’. During the party season, his price’s skyrocketed, making it difficult to hire him. However, it was possible because Thierry Loetso’s shop was located in the 3rd district of the capital that was managed by Killian.
“Madam, wait a minute.”
Cézanne, the maid, lifted her skirt and took out the dagger she had hidden by her thigh. Without hesitation, she swiftly threw the dagger, splitting a mosquito in half and embedding it into the wall.
“Amazing!”
Emily stood up involuntarily and applauded.
“It’s a big problem if a mosquito bites your carefully done makeup.”
Cézanne replied nonchalantly, as if it was no big deal.
“Yes, that’s right.”
Now Starr’s servants no longer hid their skills from Emily. Emily was trying hard to adapt to them. Recognizing that she was in a tense state, Johann approached her first and hugged her.
“Emily, you’re a princess who we must protect. So, you have to get used to it.”
As she later found out, Johann was also the son of a mafia member, and he was a genius who was particularly interested in various poisons and poisonous plants. The Starr family found Johann’s developed toxins quite useful.
“Yes, please take good care of me.”
Emily earnestly asked even young Johann. The more people there were to protect her, the better.
“It’s time, Madam.”
Alvin knocked on the door from outside.
“Emily, have a good time.”
Johann bid his final farewell and handed her a fan and a mysterious vial. As Emily looked at the vial, she smiled with relief.
“Thank you, I’ll see you when I return.”
Wearing her new dress, Emily came out of the room with a trembling heart and descended the stairs. Killian was already waiting for her, ready to escort her.
Today, she wore a blue dress that stretched naturally along the body line. It was a sophisticated and elegant dress that harmonized well with Emily’s tall and graceful figure.
Instead of a simple dress, the dress showcased Emily’s beauty with 27 emerald drops and a diamond necklace, intricately crafted using the ajoure technique, adorning her neck. [T/n: I looked it up and found some info on the ajoure technique because I had no idea what it was. According to Wikipedia, it is “an openwork metalworking technique similar to filigree, which leaves open spaces in the worked metal”. I attached a picture of an example at the bottom of the chapter.]
Killian also wore a blue-toned outfit that complemented hers, embroidered with golden threads. The fitted suit accentuated his broad shoulders and straight posture.
It was the first time he wore such a bright-colored attire in his life, but his face and physique flawlessly carried it off.
Killian and Emily spent the first few seconds silently taking each other in. The only person nervous here was the coachman, whose mission was to arrive on time. As they regained their composure upon hearing a cough from beside them, the two awkwardly got into the carriage together. It wasn’t the first time they had ridden in a carriage alone, but for some reason, it was difficult to make eye contact today.
