The Queen of Villains - Chapter 13 part 1

There is a difference between writing something and saying it out loud.

‘Did she really not read my letter?’

Lucius studied Emily’s expression. Looking at her innocent eyes, she really didn’t know what he was here for.

If he were to confess, he wanted to do it in a cool way, he didn’t want to say it in a rush.

Lucius decided to aim for the next opportunity.

“It’s nothing, I’ll just send it again later.”

‘Isn’t it a very important thing?’

Emily looked puzzled. Why bother rewriting the letter if he could say it now? However, she couldn’t confront a m*mber of the imperial family’s words head-on.

“Or can I see the letter ‘I’ sent you?” [T/n: In caase there is any confusion. Emily is asking Lucius if she can read the letter that Lucuis received in response to his initial letter, this letter was not actually written by Emily but by someone posing as her]

Lucius shook his head again.

“I didn’t bring it, and it’s nothing special anyway. The content is just an invitation to the mansion.”

The more she thought about it, the stranger it seemed.

Was his letter delivered to the mansion in the first place? If it did, who intercepted it and sent a false reply? Above all, it was difficult to guess the intentions of the culprit.

“I’m sorry for making a fool of myself. I will make sure to find the culprit.”

“I’ll also look into it. Let me know if you find out what happened.”

From Lucius’ perspective, he was grateful to the culprit who created another opportunity for contact, but it was unsettling not knowing their intentions.

“By the way, earlier it seemed like you were personally selecting flowers to decorate the vase.”

Emily’s collection of flowers was still sitting at the edge of the table

“Oh, it’s boring to be home alone , so I started arranging flowers as a hobby.”

Taking care of the garden consumed more stamina than she expected, so she had long since entrusted the authority to the gardener. Instead, she found solace in the simple act of flower arrangement.

“Really? Is your husband very busy?”

“Yes, he seems to have a lot of work.”

Lucius’ expression hardened as he heard about Kilian.

Naturally, while getting to know Emily, he couldn’t help but hear information about Killian as well. A nobleman of mafia origin. Lucius couldn’t bear the fact that such a vulgar person had married Emily using money. It felt as if he had arrived too late and the princess had been snatched away by the villain.

“If you’re bored, you can come and visit the palace.”

It was easy to be treated as a mistress if you entered the imperial palace at the invitation of the crown prince rather than the empress, so Emily nodded vaguely and immediately changed the subject.

And, of course, of all days , Kilian returned home early

Taking Killian’s long  coat and hat, Alvin said seriously.

“Sir, I have something to tell you.”

“What is going on?”

“His Highness the Crown Prince is here now.”

Killian’s face turned cold in an instant.

“Why is he here?””He said he came at the lady’s invitation…”

Killian couldn’t wait any longer for Alvin’s explanation.

“Tell me where he is right away.”

“Yes? Yes! He’s in the greenhouse in the garden…”

Before Alvin finished his sentence, Kilian hurriedly left for the greenhouse. It felt as if a storm had passed in an instant.

“But I was going to say it was an invitation that the Madam hadn’t sent and someone else sent it on her behalf without her knowledge…. but he ran off.”

Alvin, scratching his head, hurried to follow him, feeling anxious that something might happen.
