The Breakup Between You and Me - Side Story 15. Epilogue 8
Epilogue 8
“Sooyin…….”
Her whole body was covered in sweat, not just her face.
“Ugh!”
The contractions resumed. She tries to breathe deeply, as instructed by the nurse, but the pain does not seem to go away. The agony was becoming so excruciating that she felt like passing out.
But the nurse warned her that if she’s in pain, it’ll be more difficult for her, so she does what she’s been taught. She had no idea it would hurt this much until she had the painless shot. And the epidural tasted delicious.
Fortunately, her water burst just as the epidural was starting to work, and she was nearing the end of her labor.
“Just a little more!” exclaimed the skilled nurse, as she pushed down with all her strength.
“S*ck! S*ck!”
“Don’t push on your face, push down, Mom, you’re almost there.”
When she said she was almost there, she tried another push, but she gasped for air.
“Ha, ha.”
He didn’t even admit it was difficult. She desired that someone smack her on the head and knock her out. For a little while, she felt as if she had to bear the suffering alone. It was unjust. She despised him so much.
She despised herself for bearing him in her womb and then having to give birth to an excruciatingly painful child. She nearly admired the world’s mothers.
It’s a hurt that doesn’t even make you cry.
“Hold your breath!”
“Push!”
“Sob!”
She pushed until her entire body shook, but the baby did not come out this time. But, strangely, she seemed to learn how to push as time passed.
“You’re doing great, Mom. Just think of your baby and try to push one more time, okay?”
As she lay on the bed, her entire body weak, the nurses and doctors told her to keep strong. Her eyes are closed and she can hardly breathe.
“Hmph.”
She strained to open her eyes as the sound of her cries drowned them out.
“…Sooyin.”
“Si-hyuk.”
Her speech was muffled, so she made mouth movements, but he must have understood. Because it was a family delivery room, she’d forgotten he’d been there the entire time.
Hands were wiping sweat from her brow and smoothing her hair back. She could see him well after forcing her foggy eyes to concentrate.
He was in tears. She cried when they split up, and she cried again when they reconciled, but nothing compared to this.
“…Ew. Don’t cry.”
“I’m sorry; I should have been the one hurting,” he smirked. In a flash of contractions, he was gone.
“The last one! It’s out! The real last one!”
She gathered all of her last strength and pushed hard.
“Ugh! Breathe!”
“It’s out! It’s out!” she was her pain fading.
Her tears kept falling down her face. He was crying even harder than she was, a combination of first-time labor pains, relief that the baby was out, and sadness.
“Thank you. Thank you, Sooyin, thank you,” he says as the delivery room fills with the baby’s and his cries. He could hardly understand the word “daughter.”
“Parents, don’t cry, we have to cut the umbilical cord.”
“…No. “I’m not crying,” he says, embarrassed.
Is it possible for a husband to cry more than a mother? She motions with her arms in the air for him to stop crying, but he is too preoccupied with wiping her tears away. He put on the disposable scrubs and gloves given to her by the nurse.
“Why are your hands like this?”
The nurse says something as he fumbles with the gloves.
“That’s right, it’s because I’m so happy.” He’s the CEO of a large corporation, and his hands are shaking and he’s crying. You wouldn’t believe what you saw if you knew Han Si-hyuk.
He approached after removing his gloves and cutting the umbilical cord.
She was brought over by the nurse and tenderly put on her chest.
“… Se-Yeon.” She had already named her. He’d called her dozens of times, hundreds of times, but why did it make his heart swell? She was so precious.
“She’s beautiful.”
“Yes. She’s so beautiful,” she said as he caressed his brow.
Su-yeon was taken away by the nurse. “Where are Mom and Dad?”
“They’re outside.”
How delighted must they be that their only daughter has given birth to a child for whom they have worked so hard? They must be as content as she is. She grimaced at the thought of her having such a difficult time giving birth to her.
“Don’t cry.”
“you cried, too.”
“I’ve never felt as incompetent as I do today, and I didn’t do anything to help you get better.”
She shivers at the thought. She takes his hand in hers and rubs his cheek.
“Instead, I love me so much.”
“…Su-yeon, I love you!”
His voice may be heard echoing throughout the labor and delivery room. The nurse next to him bursts out laughing. She raised her hand to conceal her hot face.
“You two have a good relationship.”
“…Always better.”
When she caught sight of his audacious response, she asked,
“Why?”
“You have to go see my mom and dad.”
“Okay, I’ll be right back,” he says as he walks out of the delivery room, his legs stumbling.
She gave birth to the child, but she believes he did. She felt inwardly proud that she had performed better than she had anticipated. She’d heard that labor can persist for hours if the baby is born prematurely, but it was over in less than seven hours.
She’s a good girl. She is excited to meet her again. After a while, she was transported to a hospital room to rest, and Su-yeon was brought in. Mom and Dad were crying. Miho initiated a video call. She touched Su-yeon, who was born with many people’s blessings. She was terrified to touch her since she was so important to her.
“She looks like Si-hyuk.”
“No, he looks like you.”
“What do you mean, she looks like me?”
Her mother ordered her to stop when she said they looked the same, and she made eye contact with him and laughed out loud.
“But how can I hold her?”
“I don’t think I can, what if I drop her?”
“I’ll try.”
He picked her up as if he’d made a momentous decision. Sooyin groaned in pain, her face reddened with humiliation. Her pupils dilate in fear.
“Cry. Cry!”
She instructs him to lower her, and he does, she becomes bright crimson and cries as the hospital room flies away.
“What’s wrong, Su-yeon? Why are you crying?”
Her mom pulls her out of the way since she’s sweating terribly. Then she hugs her so warmly.
“…Wow! You’re not crying.”
She fixed her gaze on Su-yeon, who appeared to be at ease in her grandmother’s embrace.
“Don’t hold her right now because your wrist won’t get better, let my son-in-law hold her.”
“Yes, mother-in-law.”
“I’ll show you,” she promised.
“hold her once.”
“Yes.”
Sooyin Dad can’t stop complimenting baby Su-yeon on her beauty.
“Dad, is your granddaughter beautiful?”
“Of course. Who gave birth to her?”
“Am I beautiful or is your granddaughter beautiful?”
“…My, my daughter is beautiful.”
He stuttered. She’s always been his first choice, but she doesn’t think Su-yeon would be sad if she became his first choice.
“I’m going to lie down.”
“Okay, get some rest.”
After handing Su-Yeon to her mom, he walked over and helped her sit up in bed. Even though she could do it herself, he would never let her do it alone. She closes her eyes and he strokes her hair. The corner of her mouth twitches up, knowing he’s going to do this until she falls asleep.
“Si-Hyuk.”
“Huh?”
“Do you think Su-yeon is beautiful or me?”
“Of course, Cha Sooyin is beautiful.”
“…Pass.”
He stroked his lips with his fingertips, unable to conceal the quivering corners of his mouth. It was such a beautiful day, the birth of her child he so desperately desired, and he still murmured his love to her.
“Good night, Sooyin.”
“Yes.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Her mother cried, but her father hauled her out. She knows they departed so she might sleep peacefully. It was the day she discovered that, while Su-yeon was born with a lot of love, she was also a lot adored.
Her body felt exhausted. She fell asleep as she felt his warm touch on her.
* * *
Three years later, she was seated amid her home’s glass garden, reading a book.
She heard little footsteps nearby and looked up to see Su-yeon approaching her.
“Mom!” she exclaimed, her face beaming. Su-yeon is having a great time surprise folks right now. She dashes over and extends her hand. She scoops her up and places her on her lap. She had something to say.
“Mom, I’ll take care of all my siblings!”
“…Huh?”
“Just buy me one. Huh? Huh?”
She can’t stop her. She peered into her eyes with anticipation and delicately bit her cheek.
“You’re going to Grandma’s today, did you pack all your toys?”
“Yes! I packed them all!”
She was wise enough to look after her things.
“It’s time for Grandma to come over. Let’s go.”
“Yes!”
She enjoys sleeping over at her grandmother’s house once a month. Of course, Mom and Dad are much more enamored.
“Listen to Grandma and Grandpa.”
“Okay Mommy”
She’s so adorable carrying her toy bag around like she’s a nag. Should she tell her not to go? Su-yeon ran to her grandmother’s car and got in without looking back, and she narrowed her eyes.
Su-yeon and her grandmother are best friends who talk on the phone frequently. Is it that good? She waved until the car was out of sight, but Su-yeon didn’t return her gaze.
When he returned home from work, he confronted her, saying, “I thought you wanted Su-Yeon to give her a sister?”
He was the only person she could think of who would say that.
“…You’re so pretty.”
The way he drew his tie down was seductive. As he unfastened one of the buttons, she swallowed dryly.
“You’ve gotta make it,” she grumbled.
“You have to look up to the sky to see the stars, right?”
He was right. He found himself with little free time after becoming a parent. He couldn’t enjoy a clear view of the sky since Su-yeon was sleeping in between because he was so preoccupied with the expansion of his business… The specifics elude me.
“Well, she chose to spend the night with her grandma and grandpa today,” he says, laughing lazily as she looks at him.
He laughs languidly when she looks at him. “It’s been a while since I’ve been able to relax.”
Previously, she had to do it as quickly and as quietly as she could. Her monthly visits to her parents’ house never coincided with his.
“Turn off your cell phone. I’ve gotten in trouble with Miho before…….”
“No, no, no. What if something happens to Su-yeon?”
“…Come here.”
He unbuttoned his shirt, showing his well-toned body. She touched his chest with her hand. His lungs heaved. His face was flushed with joy, and it tickled beneath.
He s*cked her br*ast into his mouth after quickly removing her T-shirt and bra.
“Go to your room… Go to your room.”
As he crawls on top of her on the couch, she shakes her head in amazement. His hand enters her pants. The sound of her phone ringing paused both him and herself.
“Phone! It could be my mom.”
“…You think I’m busy.”
He unbuttoned her pants and slid his hand inside them. His hand encircled and pressed against her p*ssy, causing her back to bend.
He yanked his pants and underwear down halfway, exposing his p*nis. The sight of it pointing skyward made her mouth water.
“Ding-dong- Ding-dong”
– “Someone’s here, the phone keeps ringing.”
“Haa…….”
“Get out of the way.”
She looked down at her phone on the table and saw that it was Miho. She looked at him and pressed the call button. Impatiently, he rubbed his glans.
-“Hello?”
-“Please open the door! I’m here!”
-“What?”
-“I know you’re home; I’ve talked to your mother! Open it! “
It must be Miho who keeps ding-donging. His face crumpled like a crumpled piece of paper. He snatched the phone away and hit the end button.
-“Miho, you bastard, I’m sending you back to the States!”
She laughed as she remembered being interrupted by Miho previously, and how enraged he appeared to be about to chew her up.
“Ignore Miho and hurry up.”
“…Really?”
“Yes,” she said quietly.
“What a chance, stop,” and he smiled broadly and pushed his p*nis in.
She loved the sensation of being one, of being connected.
“Han Si-hyuk, I love you.”
She was relieved to have someone by her side, her guy, for the rest of her life.
“…I love you too,” she says, confident that they will always be happy.
