The Breakup Between You and Me - Side Story 12. Epilogue 5
Epilogue 5
“…Why?”
His brow furrowed. His hands tightened on his thighs, as if he was gently encouraging me to think things through.
“No, wait. Wait.”
I ignored his comment about my bras becoming larger, although now that I think about it, they probably be. In addition, he lightly touched them, which stung.
It was one of the oddest things I’d ever witnessed. All I wanted to do was eat kimchi stew, but my period was over.
“Sooyin…. Me, really.”
As his shoulders drooped, as if he couldn’t bear it any longer, I almost laughed. I wasn’t sure, so I waited to see what he would do.
“You know I’m really patient, so I tried to do what you wanted…….”
“…did?”
“Ha ha. You’re crazy, man. How can you stand to watch this?”
I stroke my p*ssy backwards. Her back shuddered as my clit scraped against my palm. As he watched her secretions drip from her v*g*nal opening, his mouth moistened.
His throat trembled uncontrollably. His jet-black eyes glowed with agitation. He gradually extended her legs wider apart. His lips parted at the same time.
“I’m sorry, Sooyin, I’m so sorry!” he mumbled as his lips contacted her v*g*na.
“I think I’m pregnant.”
He became immobile, and as he gently raised his upper body, his face seemed on the verge of tears.
“…What? Did I hear you wrong?”
“I can’t be sure, but I think I’m pregnant.”
“…What about a test? Have you taken one?”
He was cautious, having experienced disappointment many times before when hoping for a positive pregnancy test. However, this time felt different.
“I’m trying to do it now, but he’s grabbing my leg and won’t let go….”
“Oh, me, sorry.”
As he stuttered, her heart sank. How badly did he want to have a child? He loved children so much. Even amid this uncertainty, she hugged him tightly, afraid of disappointing him.
“Even if the test says no……”
“I won’t be disappointed. You wouldn’t be either.”
“Yeah,” she replied, sensing his fingertips trembling slightly. He helped her into her underwear and pants, leading her to the bathroom.
“Shall I join you?” he offered.
I shook my head as I watched him worry like a child at the water’s edge. Stepping into the bathroom and closing the door, my whole body shook. I managed to hold it together in front of him, not wanting to reveal my trembling state, but now that I was alone, my hands and feet trembled.
Running a dry hand down my flushed face, I examined myself in the mirror. My skin appeared rough, and bags lingered under my eyes. Despite sleeping and eating well lately, there was no excuse for the fatigue evident in my reflection.
My n*pples tingled as I ran my hands over my br*asts. They appear to be slightly larger. In the mirror, the woman’s eyes glittered.
The other day, my mom mentioned that she called me because she had a nice dream, but she refrained from asking about the details, not wanting to potentially disappoint me.
Now that I’ve connected the dots, excitement courses through me. However, this isn’t the first time I’ve been through something like this, so I take a deep breath.
I need to calm my nerves. I reach for a pregnancy test from my dresser drawer.
“…Please.”
Please.
Not in front of him, but I can’t help it. I genuinely hope I’m pregnant. My shoulders stiffen with nervousness, having taken the test dozens of times and faced disappointment.
After a moment, my hand trembles as I check the test.
“…This is ridiculous.”
I’d always seen just one line on the tester, never two. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief, but the second line wouldn’t disappear. Staggering to the door, I opened it, and there he stood, right in front of me. He seemed as nervous as I was, but there was no hint of anticipation on his face.
“……What’s wrong?” he asked.
“…….”
“Why are you crying?” he inquired, pulling me into a tight hug, assuming my tears were from disappointment.
“It’s okay, Sooyin, it’s okay.”
Hurting more than I am, I pushed him away.
“This is weird, this is weird.” I handed him the tester. He took it, rubbing his eyes.
“This?!” he exclaimed.
“Are there two lines in your eyes too? Isn’t my eyes weird?”
“Sooyin!”
I couldn’t breathe as he hugged me with his whole body. Realizing I had embraced him too tightly, he gently grabbed my shoulders and pulled away. I examined him to see if he was hurt.
“Are you crying?” I asked.
“No. I’m not crying,” he insisted.
“You’re not crying?” I questioned. Despite his denial, tears were rolling down his cheeks. Eventually, we hugged and cried together for a while.
“Thank you. Thank you so much.”
His arms are so comforting. I sob, and he wipes away my tears.
“You’ve been through a lot,” he says, and my tears slowly stop as I realize he knows what I’ve been through.
“You’ve been through a lot, too,” I acknowledge, and he strokes my flat stomach with a trembling hand. I place my hand over the back of his.
“They say we have a baby here.”
“It’s amazing.”
“Yeah.”
The child, who wouldn’t appear under the test tube, walked right in when I gave up. It was a miracle. I moved over and lay down on the bed, continuing to rub my stomach in wonder.
“Are you okay?”
“…Are you telling the truth?”
“Yes.”
“Sooyin, I’m happy, so I’m happy.”
He was all about me. When I reached out and cupped his cheek, he closed his eyes.
“Kiss me.”
I wondered what a child who looks like both of us would be like. Even if they resemble me, I think they’d be beautiful. He leaned in closer, folding the corners of his eyes. Our lips met. I’m sure he was asking for a kiss, but he pulled his lower lip out to the side.
My lips parted involuntarily as his tongue slipped into my mouth, as familiar as habit.
“Hey, when are you going to eat?” he interrupted.
A pause.
“I’m starving!” Miho shouted from outside, her eyes widening with hunger.
“Is that really…….” I burst out laughing.
“I’m hungry too. I want kimchi stew.”
“…….”
“Miho made it for me.”
“I’m holding out for the kimchi stew,” he declared.
I quickly tied my disheveled hair back into a bun, feeling sorry for my puffy eyes. I only opened the door when Miho knocked on it. She stood there with her arms crossed in disbelief.
“You haven’t eaten in a while, and now you’re coming out?”
“Did you make kimchi stew?”
“I thought you wanted some.”
“Of course.”
She was my friend, and the enticing aroma of kimchi stew filled the air. My mouth watered.
“What are you doing that you don’t want to come out?”
“Knocking on the door in front of a newlywed couple’s room, where did you learn your manners?” he scolded, and Miho lost it.
“Wow, for someone who cares about manners, you walked into my house with no shoes on and grabbed me by the scruff of the neck in front of a sick child?”
“Is that really….” He glared at me and then held his tongue, perhaps wanting to keep the conversation positive. His tight-lipped mouth dropped open as I slipped my arm through his.
I turned to go to the kitchen, but he stopped me.
“Why?”
“…No.”
I resumed walking, but after only a few steps, I stopped in my tracks.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, and my stomach churned at the strange odor.
“I grilled your favorite mackerel, but it’s running late, so I’m not sure I’ll give it to you.”
Miho strutted ahead. “Why aren’t you coming?” I asked, starving, and then stopped myself when I saw Miho grumbling about how aesthetically pleasing it was.
“Ugh!” I ran to the bathroom, covering my mouth as if I were going to vomit.
“Sooyin…!”
I could feel him running after me. I grabbed the toilet seat and gagged, but nothing came out. I opened the door, and two men stood there, their faces white with disgust.
“Are you okay?”
“Are you pregnant?”
I felt weak from a few moments of nausea, falling into his arms as he patted me on the back. I turned my head slightly to look at Miho. Her eyes were moist, as if she were half out of her mind.
“Miho, I’m pregnant.”
“…… Really?”
“Yes. You’re going to have a nephew.”
I snorted. Miho always whined, but I had heard from Mr. Jiu that she was actually praying for me every night.
“Oh, really? Ah…. What can I do? Congratulations to both of you.”
“Thank you.”
“I’m supposed to be partying. Oh, don’t freak out. Just get some rest; I’ll bring some kimchi stew to your room, and you can lie down.”
I moved when she told me to rest, claiming the mackerel had given her morning sickness. Despite her insistence that she didn’t mind, she forced me to lie down on the bed, and I lay there like a doll, staring at the ceiling.
“I need to talk to my mom and dad.”
“Let’s go tomorrow. We’ll go tell them in person.”
“Yeah. Let’s do it.”
My parents weren’t upset either, as they understood how much they had suffered. How happy would they be? When I think about it, I realize I wasn’t the only one waiting for this moment. Everyone had prayed and prayed because the arrival was so precious and valuable.
I still couldn’t believe it when she said, “Baby, you are so precious, thank you for coming to us.” It felt like I was dreaming. I didn’t want to sleep because it seemed too good to be true. I pinched my cheek a few times, each time confirming that I wasn’t dreaming.
“You’re going to rip my mouth off.” There was someone who liked it even more than I did, and that was Han Si-hyuk.
“You like it that much?”
“Earlier, I couldn’t believe it because I was freaking out, but after I calmed down….”
“…….”
“I’m going crazy with love.”
He covered his face with his hands in embarrassment, his ears burning bright red.
“Me too. Me too,Si-hyuk.”
“Let’s raise him well.”
“Yeah.”
Miho’s snores grew closer as she brought in the kimchi stew.
