Returning to Infancy with my Nemesis - Chapter 98
Every year when the new students start school, each college holds a welcome party, and Tang Mian persuaded Fu Shizhao to sign up.
After all, Fu Shizhao sang so well and was good at many instruments.
Although they were not in the same major, the welcome parties for the two majors were not at the same time, so Tang Mian boldly followed Fu Shizhao into the auditorium.
Although it had only been over a month since the beginning of the semester, almost all the students from both majors already knew about the relationship between Fu Shizhao and Tang Mian.
Everyone had long been used to Tang Mian’s presence, and even reserved a seat next to Fu Shizhao for a student who couldn’t make it to the evening party due to some things happening at night, leaving it for Tang Mian as a “family seat.”
Fu Shizhao sang a new song that night, a song in a language from country B. Tang Mian had never heard him sing this song before.
Over the years, Tang Mian had mastered quite a bit of the B country’s language and could roughly understand the lyrics. But he wasn’t entirely sure…
Tang Mian’s gaze met the person on stage.
Fu Shizhao on stage still carried the youthful innocence and ease of when he had just come of age. Although the spotlight was on him, his eyes were only on one person in the audience.
Finally, the song ended.
Fu Shizhao walked down from the stage with his guitar on his back, and he came straight to sit next to Tang Mian.
“That song, you wrote it?” Tang Mian whispered to him.
Fu Shizhao nodded with a smile, leaned closer to his ear, and admitted openly: “It’s for you, a love song.”
Then he added, “I hope you were listening carefully this time.”
Tang Mian almost instantly understood the meaning behind his words.
In a previous life, during high school, Fu Shizhao had sung a love song to him at a school event, but he had kept his head down, looking at his phone the whole time, not really listening.
Tang Mian felt like he could make it up a bit: “Even though I was looking at my phone with my head down, I was still listening attentively with my ears, otherwise I wouldn’t remember that song.”
Fu Shizhao leaned against his shoulder, coquettishly whispering: “It doesn’t matter, I still want you to compensate me.”
Tang Mian gently rubbed his fluffy head and intertwined their fingers, too lazy to bargain anymore.
But since they were still in a public place, Tang Mian didn’t feel comfortable asking directly what kind of “compensation” he wanted. They continued watching a few more performances until they started feeling drowsy, then they made an excuse to leave early.
It was already 8 o’clock in the evening, the sky was completely dark, and it was still hot despite the transition from summer to autumn. There weren’t many people on the campus roads, but you could still see a few scattered passersby.
Fu Shizhao still had his guitar on his back, holding Tang Mian’s hand, saying, “I heard there’s a romantic spot on campus for evening dates, let’s go check it out.”
Tang Mian nodded and followed him.
Although it was called a romantic spot for evening dates, it was actually just a quiet large lake, surrounded by a circle of willow trees. The willow branches hung down, although they looked withered up close from being exposed to the sun, they still looked beautiful from afar.
The lake shore was neatly arranged with benches and street lamps, with the lamplight blending with the moonlight, creating a hazy atmosphere, truly deserving of the title of a romantic spot for evening dates.
Most of the benches were already occupied, but after circling the lake, they finally found an empty one and sat down. With the willow trees providing cover, the distance between each bench was just right not to disturb each other.
Suddenly, Fu Shizhao took something out of his guitar case and sprayed a lot onto his and Tang Mian’s legs.
It was mosquito repellent.
The mosquitoes in the summer and autumn were indeed quite annoying.
Their dormitory was on the third floor, not too high, and there were quite a few mosquitoes in the dormitory. On the first day, Tang Mian had put up a mosquito net, but he still had quite a few red spots on his legs and ankles.
Smelling the scent of the mosquito repellent in the air, Tang Mian’s eyes narrowed slightly, “You’ve prepared so well.”
Fu Shizhao nodded, openly admitting, “Yeah, I’ve planned tonight’s date for a long time.”
A love song followed by a date, just right.
Tang Mian quickly kissed him on the face as encouragement.
As they were searching for a spot around the lake just now, they saw one person in a couple quickly plant a kiss on the other person’s face. Such quiet places indeed suited gentle and lingering kisses.
University truly was a romantic haven.
As soon as that kiss ended, Fu Shizhao leaned in again and planted a kiss on his lips, the motion gentle and not lasting too long. In a place like their campus, they couldn’t do anything too excessive, so they could only hug, kiss, and enjoy some small moments.
“What kind of compensation do you want?” Tang Mian lowered his head and played with his fingers.
Due to years of piano practice, Fu Shizhao’s fingers had developed some calluses.
Even though they were glued together every day, they never felt tired of each other.
After some thought, Fu Shizhao smirked and leaned closer, saying, “Official announcement?”
Tang Mian blinked, meeting his gaze.
Not many people knew about their relationship. After all, they only officially got together after the college entrance exams, and most people in high school thought they were childhood friends who grew up together, without thinking much about it.
Originally, they planned to confess after being discovered naturally.
But Tang Mian didn’t expect Fu Shizhao to be so impatient…
But Tang Mian could probably guess why he was so impatient—last night, when they were video chatting with their families, his mother had a suggestive smile on her face, asking if they had met anyone they liked at university and hinting that they could try dating.
She even mentioned that a friend’s child was also at their school and they could meet. The eager puppy couldn’t wait to assert his dominance.
“Sure, ” Tang Mian said, “but I might get harassed for a while during this time.”
Their families would definitely bombard them with phone calls and messages in turns.
“Don’t worry,” Fu Shizhao kissed the corner of his lips again, “they probably won’t come chasing us to the school. That’s true.”
“What do you want to do?” Tang Mian asked.
Fu Shizhao thought for a moment and said, “Hold hands, take a photo, and post it on Moments.” Science students indeed lacked a bit of romantic sensibility in this regard.
But Tang Mian didn’t answer. Suddenly, he lowered his head and rummaged through Fu Shizhao’s guitar case, pulling out a marker.
It was a marker that Tang Mian had put in there before and had forgotten to take out.
Tang Mian then drew a small cat on the palm of his left hand and took Fu Shizhao’s right hand, facing it up, and drew a small dog on it.
Both the cat and the dog had half a heart above their heads, and when their hands were clasped together, it formed a complete heart.
With a “click,” a photo was taken and framed, not just capturing their palm-to-palm gesture but also a bit of the wrist with a red string tied around it.
Then, Tang Mian lowered his head to edit his Moments.
?The little cat and the little dog will always be happy together.?
Fu Shizhao watched all of this, glanced at the little dog on his palm, and laughed, “I’m done for. I never want to wash this off for the rest of my life… if worse comes to worst, let’s turn it into a tattoo.”
Looking at the posted Moments, Tang Mian raised his eyes and glanced at him, laughing ruthlessly, “Isn’t this childish? If Chairman Fu gets a cute little dog tattooed on his hand, how will he negotiate multi-billion-dollar projects in the future?”
“Don’t worry about them being jealous,” Fu Shizhao leaned in and kissed Tang Mian’s lips. Tang Mian smiled and kissed him back. The vibrating phone went ignored.
On the other side, the Tang and Fu families gathered at Grandma Fu’s house overnight, drinking family tea late into the night.
