Returning to Infancy with my Nemesis - Chapter 111
After graduation, their lives continued to be closely intertwined.
Although they got married right after graduation, they didn’t have a grand wedding ceremony. They simply invited close relatives and friends to have a meal together and then went on their honeymoon to enjoy some time alone.
Mu Zichen and Fu Jiacao sent them a generous red envelope, sharing in their joy.
In recent years, Mu Zichen had become busier with filming, while Fu Jiacao was preparing to pursue further studies, either a master’s or a PhD, to continue advancing in her career. They were both working hard towards their respective goals, which only strengthened their relationship.
Fu Shizhao came back from work late every day, reducing his time at the office, while Tang Mian either painted at home or secretly sneaked into Fu Shizhao’s office to draw. Occasionally, they would lock the door and enjoy some intimate moments together.
Days passed by in this manner, until one day, Tang Mian’s brother and sister-in-law suddenly decided to go abroad for their anniversary, entrusting their two young children to Tang Mian and Fu Shizhao’s care.
The reason was simple—both kids adored their two uncles and were very attached to them since childhood. Moreover, their kindergarten was conveniently close to Tang Mian and Fu Shizhao’s villa.
The girl was named Tang Li, and the boy was named Tang Shuang. They were both cute and cheerful, very likable.
At first, both Tang Mian and Fu Shizhao welcomed their arrival. After all, they came with a nanny who took care of them, so they didn’t have to do much themselves. However, as time passed, Fu Shizhao began to lose sleep at night, silently calculating how to reclaim Tang Mian’s “exclusive love” from the two children.
Every morning, the two kids would each give Tang Mian a kiss on the cheek, and of course, Tang Mian would return the favor. But after that, they would compete to kiss Tang Mian’s cheeks first, sometimes Tang Li would go first, and sometimes Tang Shuang. Fu Shizhao was always the last.
Even during meals, they insisted on sitting on Tang Mian’s side, leaving Fu Shizhao to sit opposite them. Tang Mian would always peel boiled eggs for them and occasionally even feed them himself to appease them.
This used to be his privilege.
Every night when they came back from work, they would stick to Tang Mian, teaching them how to draw until it was time to sleep. This meant that Fu Shizhao couldn’t even recharge by leaning on Tang Mian after coming home from work.
If they were disturbed by the cats and dogs, they could always keep them outside the room or in their cages. However, they had no way of dealing with the two children.
Fu Shizhao ended up working overtime for several days in a row.
When he returned home from work, the two little ones were finally asleep. However, they would often wake up in the middle of the night, go to the bathroom, and then knock on their bedroom door before cuddling with Tang Mian and squeezing into the bed between him and Fu Shizhao, preventing Fu Shizhao from cuddling with Tang Mian for a long time.
On weekends, when they were off, the two kids would each hold a cat while Tang Mian held the dog, and they would all play a coloring game together.
Fu Shizhao deliberately sulked and went to the study with his laptop to bury himself in work, almost trying to exhaust himself intentionally to evoke Tang Mian’s concern.
Unfortunately, his regular workouts and good physical condition made it difficult for him to tire himself out easily.
The two children weren’t biased either; they liked both uncles equally. However, Uncle Cat’s drawings were exceptionally impressive. The parent-child assignments he helped them with in class amazed the other kids, making them quite popular. As a result, Uncle Cat’s image became somewhat idolized in their minds.
People are naturally drawn to strength, and children are no exception. They also wanted to become as talented as Uncle Cat!
Fu Shizhao was left sulking alone, feeling completely helpless against these two little rascals.
One day, while Fu Shizhao was once again sulking alone, working overtime in the office, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
“Come in,” Fu Shizhao said in a cold tone, setting down the documents and rubbing his temples with his eyes closed.
During this period, everyone in the company knew that he wasn’t in a good mood, so they wouldn’t disturb him unless it was absolutely necessary.
It wasn’t a good sign that someone was bothering him late at night.
His eyes felt sour from reading the documents, and he was reluctant to open them again.
Unexpectedly, the person who entered his office that night was someone who shouldn’t have been there.
Tang Mian placed what he was holding on the desk and said, “I brought you some supper.”
“Aren’t you supposed to be at home with them?” Fu Shizhao was surprised.
The two children finished kindergarten early in the afternoon, and the nanny would pick them up from school.
Most of the time, Tang Mian would go with the nanny to pick them up, as all the kids in their class admired Uncle Cat, and they all hoped that Tang Mian would be the one to pick them up. Naturally, Tang Mian spoiled them.
After dinner, Tang Mian would draw while accompanying them. Once they finished their kindergarten assignments, they would pester Tang Mian to teach them how to draw.
At the same time, the two children went to bed early every night, but it wasn’t quite bedtime yet.
“The nanny is there,” Tang Mian said, continuing to unpack the supper he brought.
Fu Shizhao pursed his lips, about to say something, but then Tang Mian added, “And… I told them that tonight, I’m going to spend time with Uncle Dog, so I won’t be going back tonight.”
Fu Shizhao was completely stunned.
Just then, Tang Mian unwrapped the supper, and its aroma filled the office, making one’s mouth water.
Tang Mian smiled and said, “They told me that Mr. Fu hasn’t been in a good mood lately. I wonder if he had a fight with Mr. Tang?”
Fu Shizhao: “…”
Fu Shizhao: “They’re really good at spreading rumors. How could we possibly have had a fight?”
Although he refuted it like this, Fu Shizhao still couldn’t help but feel guilty, lowering his eyelashes.
It wasn’t because of any conflict with Tang Mian that he was in a bad mood, but the fact that Tang Mian found out about his mood from someone in the company still made him feel… ashamed.
Suddenly, a pair of chopsticks were handed to him.
“Have some food first. I heard you haven’t eaten dinner tonight,” Tang Mian’s voice sounded.
Fu Shizhao obediently took the chopsticks, puzzled. “Who did you hear it from? How did the news spread so quickly?”
Tang Mian blinked and smirked. “Naturally, it’s my informant I’ve placed in your company.”
Fu Shizhao knew he was joking.
Everyone in the company knew about his relationship with Tang Mian. Compared to him, the CEO, many preferred the more easy-going “Mrs. CEO,” Tang Mian. Many people had good relationships with Tang Mian.
Tang Mian being well-informed was also normal, and he didn’t mind.
Since Tang Mian had locked the door when he came in, Fu Shizhao reached out and pulled him into his lap.
“Stay with me while I eat.”
Tang Mian accepted his feeding with a smile.
Although he was a bit slow in emotional matters, he wasn’t so slow when it came to Fu Shizhao. After all, they were together day and night, so Tang Mian could keenly sense Fu Shizhao’s emotional changes.
Fu Shizhao was always prone to jealousy, so it wasn’t surprising that he would be jealous because of the two children.
But there was no way around it. Children were difficult to care for and required a lot of attention, which would inevitably sacrifice the time and space for the two of them to be alone.
So, every parent who earnestly raises and loves their children is truly great.
Since he had already promised to help his brother and sister-in-law take care of the two children, he could only persist and complete this task.
It could only be said… fortunately, he and Fu Shizhao wouldn’t have children.
Their love was selfishly devoted entirely to each other, and there was no way to divide it further.
Tang Mian: “Just endure a bit longer. Brother and sister-in-law will be back from their honeymoon soon.”
Fu Shizhao made a soft sound of acknowledgment, suddenly remembering something and asking, “You’re not going back tonight?”
His office was connected to a rest area, which had a large bed big enough for him and Tang Mian to sleep in, as well as a separate bathroom. Even if they didn’t go home at night, they could easily stay in the company.
They had stayed overnight in the office before, and… well, cough.
Tang Mian nodded solemnly. “I’m compensating the neglected little uncle dog.”
Fu Shizhao smiled and fed him another bite of the midnight snack, while his free hand intertwined with Tang Mian’s fingers.
He really needed to compensate him properly.
He needed to make up for everything that had happened these days.
—
A few days later, when his brother and sister-in-law returned from their honeymoon, they took the two children back home.
Although the two children were reluctant to leave, they still hoped to be with their parents, so they left reluctantly, vowing to come back to their Uncles’ house during the summer vacation.
Fu Shizhao could only politely smile and respond to this.
As Tang Mian breathed a sigh of relief, he looked somewhat troubled as he glanced at “Little Zhao Zhao” sitting at the table, waiting for him to peel the boiled eggs.
Tang Mian walked over and helped him peel the eggs.
Fu Shizhao smirked, imitating the tone of the two children, and said, “Thank you, Uncle Cat.”
Tang Mian: “…”
It was truly a headache.
Then, “Little Zhao Zhao” handed him the spoon, looking at him expectantly, implying something.
Tang Mian had no choice but to pick up the spoon and feed him the porridge, while also putting on the bib that the children had forgotten to take with them.
From childhood to adulthood, Tang Mian had often fed Fu Shizhao. When they were young, Fu Shizhao would intentionally eat slowly, delaying Tang Mian’s time to watch cartoons, so Tang Mian had to feed him to speed things up.
As they grew older, whenever Fu Shizhao got injured or had his arm in a cast and couldn’t eat by himself, Tang Mian had to feed him.
And now… after enduring his jealousy for so long, he finally couldn’t help but reclaim everything.
There was no way around it; it was all his fault.
After getting used to it for so long, they could only continue to indulge each other.
