Returning to Infancy with my Nemesis - Chapter 107
The two kittens at home were very well-behaved. They were a bit rebellious when they were young, but they were all disciplined by Tang Mian and never scratched or bit randomly.
Plus, both of them are country cats, with strong bodies. They have never been sick, so raising them brings a strong sense of happiness.
But one day, when Tang Mian came back, he found marks on the floor, as if the cats had vomited. Tang Mian immediately sent a message to Fu Shizhao and started checking the condition of the two cats one by one.
In the end, Tang Mian focused on the youngest calico cat, Chu Yi.
Cats are very clean animals and spend a lot of time grooming themselves every day. The youngest calico cat, Chu Yi, had obvious traces of vomit around its mouth.
Seeing Tang Mian come back, both kittens stuck to him, but it was evident that Chu Yi’s condition was slightly worse than Chu Shi’s.
Tang Mian quickly put the two kittens into separate carriers and took them to the pet hospital.
While waiting for the examination, Fu Shizhao rushed over and patiently waited with him.
“Their bodies are fine, don’t worry,” Fu Shizhao said, holding his hand.
Tang Mian nodded and murmured softly.
The worst thing about raising small animals is when they get sick, especially when they’re so fragile.
In the past, when raising Cotton Candy, there were some minor issues like seasonal colds or fungal infections, but they were easily treated with some medicine, and there were never any major problems.
With the experience of taking care of Cotton Candy, both of them became even more cautious in taking care of these two kittens. They hadn’t even had a cold before, so it was strange that they suddenly vomited.
Finally, the doctor approached them.
Tang Mian was extremely nervous.
The doctor slowly spoke, “They probably ate something they shouldn’t have at home. Just give them some probiotics and montmorillonite powder, and observe them. There shouldn’t be any major problems.”
Tang Mian: “…”
Tang Mian didn’t know whether to be angry or relieved.
The little cat, who was brought out together with them, curled its tail towards Tang Mian and Fu Shizhao, looking at them with pleading eyes.
“Meow.”

After bringing the naughty kitten that ate random things back home and giving it some medicine, Tang Mian and Fu Shizhao conducted another search at home and found some bone fragments pulled out from the trash can.
Since they started raising cats, they had always used covered trash cans to prevent the cats from digging through them. However, despite their precautions, they still couldn’t prevent it.
The two of them reviewed the surveillance footage from the past few days and fast-forwarded through it to witness the cat’s “public execution”.
To their surprise, it was also related to another cat.
In the surveillance video, the other pure white kitten was sleeping on the foot pedal of the trash can. Perhaps because the trash can had been used for a long time, the lid was pressed open, leaving a sizable gap. The calico kitten then dug in, sniffed around, picked up the bone, and sneaked away to some unknown corner to gnaw on it.
Fortunately, the other cat wasn’t greedy. It didn’t even open its eyes when it saw the calico cat passing by with the bone, or else both of them would have been in trouble.
Tang Mian was feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Despite having plenty of cat food left over every day, they still preferred to dig through the trash can, making it seem like Tang Mian owed them something.
After this incident, the two of them bought a new sealed trash can overnight. After the kitten took medicine for a few days, it finally stopped vomiting, and there were no other adverse reactions. The two of them finally breathed a sigh of relief.
…
However, it wasn’t long before the tension eased that the kitten fell ill again. This time, it wasn’t the real kitten but Tang Mian himself.
During a late spring chill, Tang Mian suddenly craved ice cream. In the middle of the night, he dragged Fu Shizhao out to the street, where they walked around and ate a whole cup of ice cream. Blowing in the cold wind, he caught a fever that night.
Fu Shizhao squinted at the thermometer’s light and glanced at it. “38.1°C.”
With a cooling patch on his forehead, Tang Mian was feverish and dizzy. Uncomfortably, he pressed his face against Fu Shizhao’s palm, transferring his scorching temperature.
He had already taken medicine, but the effect wasn’t immediate. The discomfort during this time was unavoidable.
“Do you want more water?” Fu Shizhao carefully put away the thermometer and leaned in to touch his head.
Tang Mian’s eyelashes trembled slightly as he gave a soft “mmh.”
Fu Shizhao came back with more hot water and fed him some.
With his dry throat finally getting some moisture, Tang Mian struggled to open his eyes and hoarsely said to Fu Shizhao, “Tonight… don’t sleep with me. Be careful not to get infected.”
“I’m not afraid,” Fu Shizhao held one of his hands. “I have a strong constitution and am not easily infected.”
Tang Mian pursed his lips stubbornly and insisted, “Then sleep at the other end of the bed.”
“Okay,” Fu Shizhao knew to go along with the patient’s wishes and didn’t argue with him.
The next morning, Tang Mian felt a bit better, but he still felt weak all over and had difficulty breathing.
He was sleeping in Fu Shizhao’s arms, holding onto him tightly. Fu Shizhao was obviously awake too, as he placed his hand on Tang Mian’s forehead.
Tang Mian blinked and asked, “Why are you sleeping on the same side as me again?”
Fu Shizhao looked helpless and teased, “Someone kept calling my name after falling asleep last night, even the cats outside could hear and scratched at the door. After I held you, you stopped calling out.”
Tang Mian: “…”
Tang Mian buried his face back in Fu Shizhao’s embrace.
How embarrassing.
Seeing this, Fu Shizhao kissed the top of his head and said, “Your fever hasn’t gone down yet, and it’s still high. Rest well at home for the next few days, and take a day off on Monday. We’ll see how you’re doing on Tuesday.”
Tang Mian grunted in agreement and confirmed, “You haven’t been infected, have you? How do you feel this morning?”
With the risk of being infected so close to the patient, it was too risky.
Fu Shizhao smiled helplessly. “No, don’t worry. I’m still fine. Even if we do something intimate, I won’t get infected.”
The second half of his sentence was just nonsense.
Tang Mian lightly bit his chest and said, “Thinking about doing intimate things with a sick person, are you still human?”
“I won’t actually do it. Is it not allowed to even think about it?” Fu Shizhao rubbed his chin against the top of Tang Mian’s head.
Having the energy to argue with him was a good sign of improvement from yesterday, indicating that he was feeling much better.
“Sure, you can think about it, and we can do it too. Do you want to?” Tang Mian deliberately said these words and couldn’t help but move around in his embrace.
His long eyelashes brushed against Fu Shizhao’s chest, making his heart itch.
Tang Mian continued to tease, “I heard that after a fever, the temperature feels really good. Don’t you want to try?”
His rebellious streak emerged, and it couldn’t be suppressed.
Fu Shizhao tightly pressed his lips together. “I do want to, just thinking about it is enough. But when you’re sick, you should rest properly, and don’t… uh…”
Tang Mian deliberately bent his knee.
“Don’t think about doing naughty things,” Fu Shizhao quickly straightened his leg, looking serious.
Some things were fine to just think about. Whether Tang Mian really wanted to or not, he couldn’t go along with it when it came to this matter, especially since he was sick. Health was the most important thing.
“Just do it,” Tang Mian kissed his Adam’s apple.
Fu Shizhao playfully pulled up his pajama collar.
Tang Mian then shifted his attention elsewhere.
…
In no time, Fu Shizhao awkwardly got out of bed.
“I’ll go freshen up and make you some congee. After you finish eating and taking your medicine, get a good sleep.”
Dealing with this person being sick… was much harder than dealing with a sick cat.
Tang Mian curled up under the covers, watching Fu Shizhao’s figure with eyes curved into crescent moons.
