Precautions of a Snakepit - Chapter 99 (R-19)
Won glanced at Top Dog. He was smiling as usual, but she knew how he really felt.
‘He’s pissed.’
Apparently, their last three weeks together weren’t for nothing. She could easily read his mood.
He’s clearly offended by her question about their relationship status.
He was right in principle. It would have been easy to assume that they were dating, even if they didn’t say anything. However, she didn’t expect him to have such a solid mindset.
It’s not just a preconceived notion based on his looks. It was a combination of everything from how he acted in the ward, to now. In fact, her view would have been seen as common sense.
Who would have guessed that someone with such a debauched view of s*x would actually have a very sane, and even somewhat conservative mindset when it comes to relationships? She thought he was the kind of guy who would have a s*x partner for every day of the week.
“I was thinking about what we’re going to do for our 100-day anniversary, but you didn’t even realize we were in a relationship?”
His scrutiny was baffling, but Won was focused on something else.
‘At his age, he’s seriously thinking about our hundredth day together?’
Swallowing a sigh, she opened her mouth.
“Ask me why I’m here.”
“Why did you come?”
“I wanted to see you.”
Despite his anger, he did as he was told. When she answered, he gave her a dumbfounded look. Won bluntly continued.
“I was going to text you to see where you were, but I didn’t want to wait. I went out to get my car, anyway.”
Just then, his thigh jerked and the box on his leg moved. Reflexively turning at the noise, Won found him clutching the box in a panic.
“Oh, it stood up,” he stammered.
She hoped she misunderstood. No matter how much she thought about it, the object in her mind… there was no stimulus for it to stand. She couldn’t think of any other plausible reason for the box to move on his leg, though.
“Sweetheart, do you think you could lend me a hand for a moment.”
“Don’t even think about it. I have to safely drive.”
“Then, I’ll put the cake in the back seat for a while and play solo…”
“If you’re going to do that in my car, get out now.”
She didn’t really mean it, but she didn’t regret it. Instead, Top Dog continued to flirt with her to make sure she wasn’t completely angry.
“They have a great creme brulee here, so I called to see if I could get one while I was there. They said they had some left, so I ran over and got one.”
“What about the woman you were with?”
“When I told her I was going to buy it, she said that it was good. She would buy one for her kids, too.”
Now that Won thought about it, the woman had a box of cakes in her hand when she said goodbye.
“Oh, and before you get the wrong idea, we’re only seeing each other for work. We just stopped by the bakery, and I assure you we were in and out in less than 10 minutes.”
Won didn’t even ask, but Top Dog explained. Won knew. She arrived in front of the hotel not long after she had gotten the text that their location had changed. There would be no time to do anything between.
“Where’s your car?”
“I left it at work and walked. The chauffers would park it in a weird place and I would need to walk in circles to get to the hotel. It was faster to walk.”
If he said he left it in the hotel parking lot, Won would be glad to turn the car around.
“Then…”
Won stopped short of asking.
“Then?”
She shook her head at the puzzled man.
“No, let’s go home.”
She didn’t think her car was the place to talk.
***
Dinner was crab soup. When Top Dog noticed Won was just scooping up the broth because she couldn’t be bothered to open the crabs, he came over with gloves and removed all the meat for her.
For dessert, they had the creme brulee from the hotel bakery. It was the first time she realized that the sweet and sour apricot jam went well with rich chocolate.
After feeding her to the brim, he revealed the desire he had been holding back. It was as if he’d been tending to her carefully for this moment.
“Ah, hah, hmph….”
“Ah, just hang in there for today.”
Resolute, he made his move, wrapping his arm around her stomach and squeezing her hard enough to lose her mind. Her eyes flashed as the thick, hard pillar of flesh p*netrated her.
She was content with the feeling below her. The soaked fl*sh poked her in her most sensitive places, and the squelching sounds made her skin crawl. Her thighs incessantly trembled, and uncontrolled moans escaped her mouth.
“Hah, ah…”
“Oh, yeah. I know it’s because I’m f*cking you.”
His thick c*ck slammed into her, crushing her weak spot. At the same time, she felt her head turn white and a gush of juices spill out of her. It didn’t seem to be like usual. There was more and it was watery… She panicked and pushed him away.
“No, ah, wait. I just…”
“It’s okay.”
“No, wait, I…”
“No, I just, ha… felt like I hit a fountain.”
Before she could ask about it, a furious p*netration began. It was a mind-numbing thrill that she has felt before.
From experience, she realized that there would be no conversation. The more excited this man gets, the less he talks. She didn’t have the energy to say anything anyway, even if she tried.
Soon, she was swallowed up by her cl*max, feeling his eyes on her as she averted her gaze in shame. Her entire body tingled from the overwhelming pl*asure and her heart pounded like it was going to jump out of her chest, but his lower half didn’t stop thrusting inside her.
Feeling out of breath, she helplessly clung to him, and he shifted his position like he had been waiting for her, ready for round two.
As usual, they stopped having s*x when she was unable to lift even her own finger.
Won sighed as she watched Top Dog cling to her, pawing at her, exhausted from the physical exertion.
“You seem to have a lot of energy.”
“Was it hard?”
“Are you hard?”
The question made the hairs on Top Doh’s next stand up, forcing him to think about what he had done to her, but Won knew it wouldn’t make a difference. No one with a conscience would have driven her to this point in the first place.
When he couldn’t think of a good excuse, he attempted to soothe her.
“I’m the one who bathes my pretty girl and cleans up after.”
‘That’s your excuse?’
Won pursed her lips as she watched him fiddle with her hair, wrapping it around his fingers.
A conclusion she reached after organizing her thoughts at home alone.
A question she wanted to ask in the car.
She needed to get it out, but she couldn’t find the words.
“Are you…”
He didn’t rush her. Quietly, patiently, waiting for her to speak, like he had a premonition.
Won clenched and unclenched her first.
She wants to know him. She wants to be with him. She can’t know about the distant future, but right now, she felt like she needed him. To be with him, she needed to take the next step.
Looking straight at him, she awkwardly rephrased her question.
“How old are you?”
“Thirty-three.”
He answered straight away and Won wasn’t going to back down.
Once she made up her mind, she had to follow through to the end.
“‘I’m twenty-nine years old…”
“Really? We’re only four years apart. How can we have such a perfect age difference? You and I are a match made in heaven…”
Glaring at Top Dog as he babbled away in excitement, she corrected herself.
“That’s my age on the family register, but my real age is twenty-eight.”
“… The origin of the folklore that people who are four years apart are compatible is because they are in the same zodiac sign, but I don’t actually believe in superstitions. It’s pathetic to believe in superstitions in the 21st century. It seems anachronistic and backward when we’re not even a uniform society.”
His expression completely changed after Won’s correction. She could tell he was desperate to make sense of what he had said.
‘Why don’t you even listen to people to the end instead of jumping to conclusions.’
“Superstitions are total bullshit. You know, the homeless guy in Seoul Station with the same name as the president is supposed to be compatible. Plus, I like the number 5 a lot more than 4. 4 has a bad sound to it, and it reminds me of the dead…”
Won thought she didn’t believe in superstitions, but as she listened, she realized that her apartment was on the fourth floor and she wouldn’t write her name with a red pen.
“Okay, stop.”
The effort for her to rationalize anything he said was futile, so Won decided to just move on.
“What I do is… you’ve probably guessed it, but I get paid to solve my clients’ problems. If I have to, I’ll pose as a patient, check myself into a mental institution, and do things that aren’t legal.”
The list of recent cases is long. From falsifying identities to building and using firearms, and getting bullets through underground channels.
She wasn’t ashamed of what she was doing, but she wasn’t proud of it either. That’s why it was the first time she had ever explained her job to the man in front of her.
She was embarrassed to reveal herself for the first time and was overwhelmed with emotion, so she asked him.
“What do you do?”
