Once Love Begins - Chapter 6. Part 1
Chapter 6. Part 1
She jumped out of bed as soon as she heard him go outside. Her legs went weak, and she almost stumbled a few times, but she managed to stay on her feet.
Her hands shook as she hurriedly pulled on her underwear and clothes. She knew she needed to move quickly, but her weakness made it challenging.
Staggering into the living room, she grabbed her bag and phone, her only thought being that she had to get away before he arrived.
She tied her messy hair into a rough ponytail and opened the front door. While waiting for the lift, she hailed a taxi, which arrived shortly afterward.
Worried about running into him, she stepped inside as soon as the lift doors opened. Glancing at herself in the mirror in the lift, she was horrified.
She saw a very provocative expression on her face. She had never seen a look like that before, and she didn’t know where to direct her gaze. Even though it was her face, it felt unfamiliar.
Fearing that someone might notice her guilty expression, she hung her head like a sinner as she headed outside. A taxi pulled up in front of her house, and she said, “Please take off.”
She got into the taxi and looked around in case she saw him. Fortunately, he was walking in the distance. She ducked as low as she could as the car whizzed past.
She knew the taxi driver was staring at her, but she pretended not to notice. Immediately, she called Hana, concerned that she might be drunk and asleep, but luckily, she answered the phone.
Hana mentioned being hungry and eating ramen. When she asked if she could stay the night at her house, Hana didn’t hesitate and promptly provided her address. As she turned her head to look behind her, he was entering the house.
She sent a text to her husband after he called Hana.
She shut off her phone and put it in her pocket, a cold sweat breaking out on her back. She felt relieved to see that she was out of the neighborhood. Her stiff shoulders relaxed.
She leaned back against the seat and closed her eyes. Every inch of her body where he bit and sucked throbbed. Especially between her legs, where she felt like she was missing something.
She bit her lip, remembering the look on his face as he casually did something so erotic that words couldn’t describe it.
How many times do you have to do something like that before it feels natural? Suddenly, she felt resentful.
Really, should she just go out and f*ck some random guy and play with him and not feel bad about it?
She can’t stop thinking about his face between her legs. She doesn’t want to think about it, but she can’t stop thinking about it.
The more she thinks about what she did earlier, the redder her face and nape become. Heat rises in her body.
Even though it was early in the morning and quite cold, the heater was on, and the car felt claustrophobic.
Her v*g*na tickled unpleasantly, so she opened the window with an irritated touch. A cold breeze blew across her face, but it did nothing to alleviate the strange sensation of overheating.
She fumbled with her phone in her pocket. She knew it wouldn’t ring because it was switched off anyway, but she ran her fingertips across the screen anyway.
Would he have seen the text by now? Would he be confused or angry? It was a little bit of both, and it was exhilarating. She couldn’t help but wonder what his face would look like.
A few minutes later, Hana arrived at the door. She rang the bell and heard a voice that didn’t sound like Hana’s.
She wondered if she had come to the wrong place but breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Hana’s voice.
“I’ve come to the right place, haven’t I?”
“Oh……. Yeah.”
She thought Hana lived alone until now. Her eyes widened as she saw a woman standing next to Hana, smiling kindly.
“Mum, this is Yeon-woo.”
“You must be Yeon-woo. I’ve heard so much about you. Come in.”
“Yes. How are you?”
Hana looks a lot like her mother. They have the same cool personality and the same face shape.
“That’s my room. Let’s go in.”
“Okay.”
She felt sorry for the late hour, but at the same time, she was envious of her mother’s existence. She knew it was unavoidable, but she couldn’t help feeling envious inwardly.
It was not a house of silence, but a house of warmth. She suddenly felt lonely when she saw her mother, who was full of affection, and she couldn’t help but feel longing and loneliness.
“What are you doing at this hour? Why are you not sleeping?”
Hana wondered and smiled awkwardly when one of the girls asked before the door closed. She couldn’t say that she was running away from her husband, who had gone out to buy condoms for s*x.
“Did you both fight? Why? “What did he say when you came home drunk?”
She hadn’t even put her bag down when she started asking her a series of questions.
“You came home drunk, but you look fine.”
“It’s not like that. Do you think we get into fights all the time?”
She glanced at one who asked if she had been in a fight. She sat down on the bed and swung her feet.
“I was worried when you said you wanted to sleep over here tonight at this hour.”
“I came because my husband said he couldn’t come home because of work, and I didn’t want to be alone, but I didn’t realize your parents were here. I wouldn’t have come if I had known. I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine; don’t mind my mom and dad.”
She put her bag down on the dressing table and began taking off her coat when she heard a knock at the door.
Hana got out of bed and opened the door slightly.
‘It must be my father.’
Hana returns to the room, closes the door behind her, and holds something in her hand.
“You got a puppy?”
“Yeah. Her name is Pretty.”
Her eyes widened. She had wanted a puppy since she was a kid, but her grandfather was against it. She was allergic to dog hair.
She draped her coat over a chair and stood in front of Hana. As she stood there, Hana held out a puppy in front of her. The pure white, furry puppy shook its head and wagged its tail rapidly.
“She’s so cute. I can’t believe it. It’s so cute; it’s driving me crazy.”
“I didn’t know you had a puppy.”
“Not long ago, my mom didn’t approve, but now she’s finally letting me.” Hana set her down on the floor.
The little puppy squeaks and touches her paw.
“What am I supposed to do?” Yeon-woo asked.
Hana’s eyes bulge with hearts.
“Can I touch her?”
“Yes, of course.”
She squatted down and stroked the puppy’s head, and the little dog lay down on the floor. She let her rub its belly.
She had forgotten why she had come there; it had long since slipped from her mind. All she could focus on was the adorable puppy.
The next day, after spending time with Hana, she came home during dinner time. It’s not early, and by that time he’s off work, but he’s not home yet.
And it’s okay for her that he is not around the house and no one is home.
Looking at his face, she doesn’t know what to say or how to act. When she switches on her phone in the morning, she sees he has three missed calls.
After a shower, she heads to the kitchen to eat. She’s cooking dinner for herself and eating quickly so that when her husband arrives, she’s in her room.
She took some rice from the bowl and sat down at the table. She didn’t have an appetite, so she was only going to take a spoonful, planning not to be hungry in the middle of the night and to avoid seeing her husband. She planned not to go out to her room when her husband was at home.
“Oh, you’re here?”
Her eyes widened at his early appearance. She dropped the spoon on the table as she lost her appetite.
Without answering, she turned and went to the fridge, pulled out a bottle of water, and gulped it down. She swallowed hard, her throat swaying dangerously.
Her throat burns. It’s been a struggle to breathe since he showed up.
He turns his head from her water to see if she notices him and their eyes meet.
His eyes were sharp and deep. She frowned at the pain in her throat. She picked up the chopsticks she’d put down and started to scoop up the rice, but he suddenly grabbed her wrist.
“What?”
Her heart sank as he stood in front of her and grabbed her wrist.
“Are you mad at me for running away yesterday?” Yeon-woo asked.
She looked up at him with shaky eyes, and his cold gaze scanned her face.
“Why…” Yeon-woo asked again.
“You’re pissed,” Kang-Jae said. Yeon-woo blinks slowly.
“You have a fever. Didn’t you know?” Kang-Jae added.
She didn’t know she had a fever. She had freaked out yesterday. She let out a small sigh and pressed her palm to her forehead. It was cold and cool, and it made her chest tingle.
Her eyes were watering, but she only touched her forehead once.
“It’s okay; I’ll feel better if I rest.”
She ducked her head, unable to look at him through the stinging snow. She fiddled with her chopsticks.
“Did you run away and wander outside yesterday?”
“…….”
“You must have a cold,” he said.
His grip on her wrist burns.
“Oh, no. Get up,” he said.
“What’s wrong with you?” she said, annoyed that he kept trying to get inside the lines she’d drawn when this was private.
“You’re shivering, and if you have a fever, you need to take some medicine, or better yet, go to the hospital. Get up.”
When she stubbornly sat up, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to her feet.
“Hey, put me down!” Yeon-woo said. She screamed, her throat hurting like it was going to rip with every word.
She punched him in the back as he slung her over his shoulder and into the bedroom, but it was no use. She looked at him with suspicion as he set her down on the bed.
Yesterday was a similar situation. He dropped her on the bed and quickly took off her clothes, including her underwear.
Without thinking, she crossed her arms to cover her chest.
“Why did you cover your arms?”
“…….”
“I’m not starving enough to touch a sick kid.”
That’s upsetting as it is. She doesn’t know. She doesn’t know if it’s because she’s sick.
“Lie down, I’m calling a doctor.”
“Never mind, don’t call the doctor.”
“Why? Because you don’t want to get a shot?”
“That’s…….”
She shut up because he was saying the right thing. She hated, hated, hated injections. Even when she was a kid, her grandfather would make her sweat for a shot.
The doctor looked at him, and then he looked at her. She bit her lip, and his sincere gaze rose and fell slowly.
“I don’t need an injection,” she said.
“I want to rest,” she added.
She was lying on the bed when she remembered he’d done something so naughty that it brought tears to her eyes; she felt her fever rise.
Her whole body is tingling, including between her legs. She crossed her legs to try to relieve it, but it didn’t work.
She’d never experienced anything like this before, and it scared her. She feels like her body is changing.
“You must not move.” the doctor said.
Her face went white at the doctor’s words. Her hands shook as she gripped the blanket. Her whole body shook as soon as the doctor told her that she had a high fever and needed fluids.
When he saw her, he made a disbelieving sound.
“She is not a baby anymore. Really.”
She wanted to tell the doctor, “Please ask him to leave,” but she was so nervous she couldn’t find her voice. Her eyes filled with water.
She’s not going to lie; she was really scared, and she didn’t want him to treat her like a child.
Eventually, the doctor injected her in the back of her hand. Her whole body was covered in sweat. She sobbed and wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Are you okay?” Kang-Jae said, but she deliberately didn’t answer.
She just stared at him as he sat on the bed. She stubbornly refused to look at him. Her eyes kept closing.
Maybe it’s because she stayed up all night chatting and playing with Hana last night.
She’s so sleepy. Kang-Jae was mumbling something, but she couldn’t hear it and fell into a deep sleep.
