Not Sober - Chapter 3. Part 5
Chapter 3. Part 5
***
“Brother?”
“What’s up?”
“Can I sleep?
Jenna asked from her bed. She was already curled up, and she looked at him beside her.
“Am I going to be awake all night then?”
“Nah. That’s not…”
He was right because he had eaten and showered and gotten everything ready, and he’s not about s*x or s*x or s*x, and there was not the slightest sign of s*x.
“Did you bring me here to have s*x?”
Jenna asked, suspicion evident in her tone.
“Do you?” he responded, expecting a yes.
Jenna dashed her hopes again.
She shook her head vigorously, causing him to feel disappointed.
‘Why does he have to deny it like that?’ he thought to himself.
‘What the hell is wrong with my d*ck?’ Jenna, who was unaware of the situation, was snuggled up in the cozy comforter, giggling happily.
She had every reason to feel at ease after enduring the small space of Sua’s dormitory and then transitioning to the spacious hotel bed.
“Why do you hate me so intensely?” Sung-chan questioned, his voice betraying his hurt. Regardless of the circumstances, he believed she didn’t deserve such treatment.
Jenna was skilled at crushing his confidence.
“I don’t hate you,” she replied.
“Then why do you constantly shy away from people like they’re insects?”
Jenna couldn’t bring herself to say, ‘I think you might have a sickness in your d*ck,’ to his face.
Jenna took time to respond. She carefully chose her words. Sung-chan seemed to expect her answer.
“You don’t like it?” he claimed.
“No, I don’t hate it,” she countered.
“So you do like it?” he prodded.
“Well, I like your face,” she admitted.
Jenna nestled deeper under the covers, her heart racing, while Sung-chan chided her for taking so long to admit that she only liked his face.
“Why make a big deal about anything else?” he asked.
“Because you’re… bad?” she responded tentatively.
Jenna openly criticized him, leaving her speechless and resorting to a muttered curse.
“I prefer people who are kind,” she stated.
“Damn, that’s me!” he retorted.
“How kind of me, huh?” Sung-chan exclaimed in frustration, hoping for a reaction from Jenna. However, she remained unmoved.
“Perhaps the definition of affection has changed, and I missed the memo,” he mused.
“What do you mean?” Jenna asked, puzzled.
“You don’t typically refer to a man who has s*x with you as kind.”
Jenna said teasingly, trying to lighten the mood, but Sung-chan remained sour.
“It’s ridiculous. I don’t want this kind of person on display. If you’re wealthy and attractive, but your personality doesn’t match, what does that make you? A fake?” she grumbled.
“Why are you upset with me?” Jenna questioned.
“It’s because you said you want someone kind,” he replied.
“Well, let’s just go along with it. Why make a fuss?” Jenna suggested.
Jenna’s words embarrassed Sung-chan once again. He wondered why he was making a fool of himself when she was just stating that he didn’t match her ideal type.
‘Why? Why? Why? I am not her ideal type. Damn it!’
Sungchan realized that he couldn’t be everyone’s ideal. However, it hurt him deeply to know that he wasn’t Jenna’s type.
“Yes, yes, yes, you’re welcome.”
“You do,” Jenna affirmed.
“Eh,” Sung-chan shrugged.
“What’s your perfect woman like?”
Jenna’s question caught Sung-chan off guard. He found it simple to answer. Min Jenna. His dream girl could be summed up in just three letters:
Sungchan never wanted to admit it. He felt embarrassed and defeated, turning away and masking his feelings with unnecessary anger.
“You don’t need to know,” he replied curtly.
“Wow, cheesy,” Jenna retorted.
She playfully poked him in the eye while he lay with his back turned.
“Are you angry?” she asked.
“Why would I be angry?” Sung-chan countered.
“Because you’re not the perfect guy I imagined,” Jenna replied.
“Damn, that’s none of my business,” Sung-chan muttered.
Still looking at Sungchan’s back, Jenna suddenly had a question.
“Can I ask you something?”
“What is it?”
“Do you remember all the girls who slept in your house?”
“Brother,” Jenna said, her voice cutting through the air. Sung-chan closed his eyes and nodded silently. Jenna didn’t hesitate for a second. She bombarded him with questions, like a natural disaster.
“Do you have feelings for me?”
She remained silent instead of reacting with a sharp retort. The only sound in the room was the soft rustling of the blankets.
At that moment, Jenna realized the weight of her question.
“Are you serious, for real?” she asked incredulously.
Sung-chan stayed quiet for what felt like an eternity, and Jenna didn’t push him further.
An uncomfortable silence filled the room. Jenna had anticipated this moment, but now that it had come, it felt overwhelming.
“Why me?” she finally whispered.
After what felt like a long time, a deep and rough voice whispered in Jenna’s ear, saying,
“…most likely.”
If you like it, then you like it. If not, you’re not.’
Jenna furrowed her brows briefly. Sung-chan let out a long sigh before speaking again.
“I’m not sure. It’s just irritating,” she said, feeling a bit let down by his annoyance.
“No, if you like me, why are you irritated?” Jenna questioned.
“You don’t like me,” Jenna responded.
Jenna pondered her words for a moment.
It wasn’t that she disliked him, but rather that she wasn’t ready to see him in a serious light. She had always viewed him as nothing more than a handsome distraction.
He grumbled irritably. It seemed as though he could sense her thoughts.
“This s*cks. You don’t know how awful this is,” he muttered.
Jenna felt angry, but she understood Sung-chan’s frustration.
It was strange, but she had gotten used to his behavior.
Jenna asked, “Will you do this every time you see me?” Sung-chan sighed before responding.
“Damn it, if you just want to sleep with me, that’s easy.”
It was. If he was only physically attracted to her, he could indulge in that at any time. However, his feelings towards Jenna were more complex whenever he looked at her.
She looked at him with disbelief.
“You’re joking, right?”
“What?”
“You’re my favorite,” Sung-chan said.
Jenna couldn’t understand why he would prefer her for some arbitrary reason, and the unreturned crushes she’d experienced in the past didn’t bother her as much as he did.
“Why would you be mean to someone you like?” she questioned.
“Me?”
“Yeah.”
So Jenna warned him as if to say, “Don’t mess with me.”
“You’re just trying to tease me,” he muttered. He closed his eyes, not wanting to dwell on it further. He recalled all the times Jenna had teased him.
Seeing that Sung-chan seemed uninterested in continuing the conversation, Jenna also closed her eyes.
She suddenly felt uncomfortable with his presence, which she had found comforting before.
‘Does he really have feelings for me?’
‘I realize now that my previous actions were strange. What did I do to make him like me?’
Jenna was lost in thought. On the surface, he was too much for me, for sure.
‘Oh, but I usually don’t go for guys who are too easygoing,’ she remarked casually.
Before she realized it, she found herself imagining what it would be like to be with him, squirming in his embrace with her back to him.
She felt something hard poking her repeatedly in the as$. Panicked by the strong sensation, she twisted to get away, but it only backfired.
‘HaHa…….’
‘That’s it. That’s it!’
Jenna realized what was going on.
