Not Sober - Chapter 3. Part 2
Chapter 3. Part 2
“No way, did I oversleep after dinner…?” Jenna groaned and quickly washed her face. As she considered her options, her cell phone alarm went off, signaling the start of her first class.
“Shoot, it’s my major’s first period today.”
Realizing the urgency of the situation, Jenna quickly gathered her belongings.
“Sorry, but I have to go. I’ll catch you later,” she said hastily, shaking the still-sleeping Sung-chan to rouse him. Taking his groan as acknowledgment, she dashed out of his house, breathless.
After a few more minutes of lounging on the bed, Sung-chan suddenly realized he was the only one left. Panic flooded him.
“Oh no, not again. Did she eat and then leave?”
This time she seemed to have eaten and left without him noticing.

Sung-chan began asking around to see if anyone had seen Jenna.
“Has anyone seen Jenna?”
“Did Jenna show up to class today?”
“Hey, did anyone run into Jenna?”
All these questions came from Sung-chan. When he realized that Jenna was gone, he put on his hoodie and went to school.
‘What the heck? I treated her well, and she just disappears without a word?’
The absurdity of the situation was so overwhelming that Sung-chan couldn’t help but laugh at his misfortune.
He hadn’t told Jenna, but he never allowed anyone into his home. While he seemed to connect easily with people on the outside, the idea of someone invading his personal space made him cringe.
“Yes, I saw her in the cafeteria earlier. Why is something wrong?”
“In the cafeteria? Are you serious? I can’t believe it.”
And just like that, Sung-chan’s search for Jenna, the girl who was like a fish out of water in class, was immediately redirected to the cafeteria.
Locating Jenna wasn’t too difficult after all.
Sung-chan spotted Jenna sitting in the same spot she was in yesterday, eating pork chops.
“Damn, I found the liar.”
As Sung-chan approached Jenna, he noticed another guy next to her. It was the same hefty guy he had seen with her the day before.
“I’m sorry about yesterday, Doon. You’re the senior in our class, and I messed up.”
“Oh, it’s okay. I’m just glad you were careful yesterday.”
In reality, there wasn’t much warmth between them. Jenna had quickly dispelled any possible rumors by explaining herself to Doon when they met in the cafeteria.
But Sung-chan, unaware of the situation, felt crushed.
“He left me sitting here chatting with that potato guy when she could have stayed home and I could have cooked her a decent meal. Now she has to eat pork chop in a lousy cafeteria with that potato guy,” Sung-chan thought.
Sung-chan thought bitterly. His head was throbbing, his hands were shaking, and he felt a sense of defeat coming over him. It was especially annoying to feel defeated by that potato guy.
“Anyway, Doon, I’m sorry about yesterday,” Jenna said.
“No worries, we’ll hang out again sometime,” Doon replied casually.
“Okay, take care,” Jenna said, offering a slight smile and waving to Doon.
Watching Jenna smile at the other man, Sung-chan felt a nauseating twist in his stomach.
Without hesitation, he walked toward Jenna, his anger boiling over.
“What does she think she’s doing?”
Jenna, who had been chatting casually with Doon just moments before, now looked at him with a startled expression, as if she had seen a ghost.
That only fueled his annoyance.
“What’s up?” she asked nervously.
“What’s up with you? Why do you keep treating people like this?” he snapped.
Jenna let out a small “ah” in response, quickly apologizing, “I’m sorry, senior. I forgot I have an important class in first period today.”
“Damn it,” Sungchan interjected, his frustration showing through his clenched teeth.
“Do you hate me so much?”
“What are you…?”
“You smile for that damn potato guy, but you never smile like that around me. You just leave people hanging without a word.”
Jenna tried to interject, “It wasn’t without a word, it was just one time,” but Sung-chan didn’t let her finish.
“What have I done to deserve this?” he demanded.
“Wait, senior… Just hold on a moment!” Jenna pleaded.
“Do you like that potato guy so much that you can’t be satisfied with just my d*ck?”
Jenna was stunned, feeling as if she had just cheated on him.
Feeling the weight of the cafeteria’s collective gaze, Jenna urged Sung-chan to step outside and talk in private.
“Senior, please… Let’s go outside and sort this out,” she pleaded, reaching for his hand.
His heart raced at her touch, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
“Damn… All right,” he muttered, oddly disturbed by her calm manner.
They stepped outside to have their conversation away from prying eyes.
“I don’t even want to listen to him,” Sung-chan muttered stubbornly, resisting Jenna’s attempts to talk him out of it.
Frustrated, Jenna tried a different approach. “Okay, I’ll call you big brother from now on, so please come out,” she said, hoping to appeal to his sense of authority.
To her surprise, Sung-chan gave in and followed her outside, even if he did so with a sulky expression on his face.
Once they were alone, Jenna struggled to find the right words. “Big brother, you must have misunderstood. I had a really important first-period class today. I’m sorry,” she apologized sincerely.
Sung-chan remained silent, and Jenna continued, “I told you all that while you were sleeping, but I guess you didn’t hear me because you were asleep.”
Realizing her mistake, Jenna hung her head in remorse. “I’ll never do that again,” she promised solemnly.
She paused for a moment after she had spat out the words. ‘Next time? Oh, next time I have to go to your place again.’ she thought.
‘Well, we haven’t even had s*x yet.’
Jenna thought so and said it to him again.
“I’ll make sure to have s*x with you then, and I’m sorry about yesterday.”
Jenna spat out the words sincerely, but instead of making him feel better, it only made him get irritated.
“What, you want to give me s*x?”
This is crazy, she thought, as if she were the one asking him to have s*x with her. And what kind of person says that with a straight face?
Confused by Sung-chan’s sudden behavior, Jenna couldn’t understand why he was treating her like this.
“Hey, Min Jenna,” he called out.
“What?” she replied.
“Come here,” he said with open arms.
Jenna hesitated, unsure of what he was up to, but ultimately complied.
“No, stop looking away. Come and hug me,” he insisted.
Although Jenna was confused by his request, she didn’t want to escalate the situation any further. Besides, being hugged by a handsome man didn’t seem like a bad idea, so she approached him and hugged him tightly.
“How do you feel?” Sung-chan asked, still holding her close.
Jenna couldn’t find the words to answer, confused and embarrassed by his question and the rapid beating of her heart.
“Uh… well, it’s nice, but why?” Jenna questioned, puzzled by Sung-chan’s behavior.
“Is that it?” he pressed, his frustration evident.
Jenna didn’t quite understand what he was getting at. She didn’t have much to say except to acknowledge that it felt good.
