Not Sober - Chapter 2. Part 8
Chapter 2. Part 8
*.
Jenna bought a doughnut and an ice cream, one for each of them, as they walked together.
“Hey, Min Jenna.”
Jenna heard a low, angry voice beside her, sending a shiver down her spine.
“Why aren’t you responding to my messages and calls?”
She couldn’t believe it.
‘That voice belonged to… It couldn’t be… Baek Sung-chan.’
“Why are you here?” she said
Jenna blinked, wondering if she was seeing things. But the person in front of her remained unmistakable.
Stunned, Jenna stared at him, her mouth hanging open in surprise.
“Who’s that as$hole with you?” he demanded.
Doon looked at Jenna for clarification. But surprisingly, it wasn’t Doon who was confused, it was Jenna herself.
“No, I was just starting to enjoy myself!”
‘What kind of grudge does he have against me to interfere with my love life?’
Jenna gave him an irritated look, making it clear that she was annoyed. Then Sung-chan approached her with an attitude that implied that she was the one being unfair, and he said something to her.
“No way, why are you so good at flirting with other men, huh?”
There was an irritation in his voice. Stunned, Jenna was speechless, her mouth open.
“When did you start dating?”
Now everyone could easily assume that she was cheating. Jenna felt embarrassed, while Sung-chan, who felt his pride hurt, didn’t suspect anything like that.
His concern was more about being ignored by her. It was even more puzzling that the guy standing next to her seemed to be the reason why she was ignoring him, indicating that she might be starting to date him.
‘How could you have s*x with him after having s*x with me?’
He thought so. She had ignored him just to flirt with that as$hole.
His mind was in a state of confusion. Perhaps she was raised in a strict family and had little exposure to such things. He even considered this possibility several times.
But here she was. I was flirting with a guy who was much worse than him.
His pride was shattered. He acted like a frustrated child whose toy was taken by another.
“Do your eyes belong to your toes?” Sung-chan’s remark left Jenna feeling frustrated and confused.
Standing nearby, Doon sensed the tension and awkwardly excused himself from the situation.
“Um, Jenna, I’ll give you two some space,” Doon said, misinterpreting the situation.
“No, wait, it’s not what you think,” Jenna protested, feeling on the verge of tears. She wanted to hit Sung-chan and maybe even throw the pastries in front of him out of frustration.
“What are you doing?” Jenna asked nervously, her anger noticeable. But Sung-chan remained calm, which only irritated Jenna even more.
“Are you satisfied now that you’ve ruined my life?” she continued.
Jenna was bewildered, feeling like she was caught in a whirlwind of emotions she had never experienced before.
‘You told me, ‘Don’t act like we’re friends just because we f*cked up once,” Jenna remembered, her mind racing to make sense of Sung-chan’s sudden hostility.
‘I thought you said you hated being insincere, so why this?’ she wondered. It was puzzling why this attractive but erratic man had suddenly become interested in her.
Then, a realization struck Jenna like lightning. This must be it. There had to be a reason behind Sung-chan’s erratic behavior.
“How much do I owe you?” Jenna asked Sung-chan with a deep breath, realizing that she still hadn’t paid the hotel bill from that day.
She didn’t have cash on hand, so she promised to wire the money instead. It dawned on her that Sung-chan had every reason to be upset about her leaving without paying.
Suddenly, his remark about her ‘eating and running away’ made sense to her.
Jenna nodded to herself in understanding and pulled out her phone to initiate the transfer. But then something on her phone caught her attention and left her puzzled.
Feeling a little uneasy about spending most of her allowance on the hotel, Jenna decided to double-check her calculations.
But when she mentioned money to Sung-chan, he seemed perplexed.
“What money?”
Jenna, feeling uncomfortable, asked if he was upset because she hadn’t paid for the hotel. This caught Sung-chan off guard, and he laughed briefly when he realized the misunderstanding.
“You’re acting like this because I didn’t pay for the hotel, aren’t you?”
It seemed that Jenna had misinterpreted his earlier text message.
“Hmm.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” he said.
“I see.”
‘The hotel price was right after all. Yes, if it’s about money, everything makes sense.’
All the texts she got from him, who were trying to contact her and asking her why she was running,.
‘It seemed like a pretty expensive hotel.’
As Jenna was thinking about it, Sung-chan spoke in her ear.
“But I’m sorry. That’s not what I’m trying to tell you,” he said.
“It’s ……?”
“You think I’m doing this for the money, do you?”
Jenna’s eyes narrowed in disbelief at the question. Then, with a smile on his face, he whispered in Jenna’s ear.
“You fucking ate my d*ck and you’re avoiding me like this?”
“What, what, what is eating from what? Who’s blowing off what?” Jenna stumbled back, shaking angrily.
“Why, you just use it like a dildo once when you need it and throw it away, is that it?”
“Oh, no… no, not that…”
Jenna began to stammer in embarrassment.
“So, did you enjoy my d*ck?”
Sung-chan asked her sarcastically. Jenna was stunned and didn’t know what to say at first. Then she collected her thoughts and answered him calmly.
“You told me not to pretend to be your friend just because we had s*x once.”
“No, I said don’t pretend to be f*cking close, who said f*ck?”
Jenna’s head spun at the absurdity of the situation.
‘If it’s not about money, why does he want to have dinner with me so badly?’
It didn’t make sense. This is what he is doing to her now.
Whether she liked it or not, she was too busy trying to keep up with what was going on.
“But what were you doing with that potato of a man earlier? I hope it wasn’t a date or something,” he asked.
“It’s none of your business what I do,” she replied.
Jenna replied with a heavy sigh. The brother she’d called him when they’d had s*x was gone, replaced by the senior, a title that felt a hundred miles away.
“Or what? Will you ask him to have s*x with you too?”
Jenna, half-questioning, answered with silence. Then Sung-chan spoke again, this time with a smile.
“To be honest, it’s all nonsense that I’m your first.”
“That’s right,” she replied.
“Wow, you’re looking for a new guy just because it’s been a while since we had s*x, and you’re ignoring all my calls? It’s scary how some people use and discard others like that.”
He started playing the victim, seemingly unconcerned, despite his past behavior.
“No…”
Jenna said, her lips curling in frustration.
‘Who the hell ate your d*ck and threw you away?’
Perhaps she had eaten the wrong d*ck, she thought.
Perhaps this was why her parents had warned her against fooling around. It seemed that everything her ancestors had said about being cautious might be true.
“F*ck, did I put the wrong flavor in my d*ck? Do you think every other f*cker’s dick tastes as good as mine?”
“What do you care if it tastes good or not, I’m the one eating it anyway!”
Jenna expressed her frustration to Sung-chan with a snarl. Sung-chan was embarrassed and struggled to find a response.
Jenna was correct.
She was correct. They are not friends, and he was the one who told her not to pretend to be his friend just because they had s*x once and that he hated her rudeness.
