Inlaid With Jade - Chapter 45
Chapter 45
The beating was too light
Winter nights were long. After the New Year’s Eve dinner, the sky darkened in the blink of an eye. The deep alleys and long streets were full of fireworks. Even with the doors and windows closed, one could hear the sound of firecrackers from far and near.
Although Li Heming asked her to ‘apologize,’ he did not make any move until the night when they were about to rest, so Lin Yu could not guess what he was thinking. However, based on his energy in the carriage, she was not naive to believe that he did not want that.
Li Heming was not a male rabbit spirit in heat all year round, as she had complained, but he was a young man. All men in the world were greedy for flesh’s pl*asure. Even the holy Buddha in the mountains had to overcome the desire, so Li Heming surely thought about it. In the twenties, no groom had only slept with his wife once and had s*x once a few days after marriage like him. With his vigorous energy, he would probably get sick if he stayed ‘vegetarian’ for a few more days.
In the room, Lin Yu removed her jewelry and outer shirt and prepared to take a bath. When she left, she looked back at Li Heming, sitting by the fire, using copper tongs to fiddle with the red-hot charcoal. The room was warm, sparks were flying, and the red light shone on his face. He looked very relaxed. If he had taken off his clothes and asked Lin Yu to do it, Lin Yu would have felt more comfortable, but he was as silent as a stone, which made Lin Yu flustered, and she always felt that he was holding back something terrible. She couldn’t figure out what he was thinking, so she suppressed the confusion and entered the bathroom.
However, Lin Yu guessed right. When she removed her clothes, stripped herself clean, and sat in the bathtub, Li Heming followed her. The candlelight in the bathroom was bright, and the screen was dim. Lin Yu saw Li Heming walking around the screen and appeared before her. She subconsciously raised her hand to cover her chest.
Li Heming was extremely calm, as if he could not see the shock on Lin Yu’s face, and began to take off his clothes as if nothing had happened. Lin Yu pursed her lips gently, and then she suddenly realized what he had been waiting for tonight without saying a word. It was waiting for her to take off her clothes and be blocked by him in the bathroom with nowhere to go. The bath water was hot, and Lin Yu sat in it. Her collarbone was immersed in the water, and the mist lingering made her eyebrows and eyes moist. The bun on her head was half loose, and a few strands of black and soft long hair floated on the water. She looked like a fairy in the water.
Li Heming saw Lin Yu look at him without saying anything. While undressing, he asked: “Why are you looking at me? Can’t I come in?”
He was avenging Lin Yu’s refusal to take a bath with him on the day of the wedding. He removed his outer shirt as he spoke, leaving only his underwear. He casually placed his clothes on the screen. He revealed his muscular upper body, broad shoulders, and narrow waist, with clear muscle lines and the Yanzhi jade on his neck, causing Lin Yu’s ears to become hot. She avoided his gaze and reached out to pat the water but soon turned her gaze back, imitating his tone, and said, “Why do you ask? Can’t I see it?”
On the wedding day, unlike Li Heming, who looked at Lin Yu thoroughly and touched her all over, Lin Yu didn’t look at Li Heming’s body very much. In a trance, she only remembered that he had a few scars. If a girl had scars on her body, she would cover them up and not let her husband see them after they married. But Li Heming, as a man, didn’t feel ashamed. Now, he showed them to Lin Yu openly, but one or two scars were very hideous and looked a little scary.
Lin Yu couldn’t help but reach out her hand and touch a light scar on his abdomen. The warmed, soft fingertips rubbed the skin and left a w*t mark. Li Heming was shocked and looked at her.
Lin Yu was afraid of pain, so she couldn’t help but feel distressed when she saw the scars on his body. She asked, “When did you get injured?”
Li Heming stood still and let her look slowly, but his voice was inevitably deep when he spoke: “I don’t remember.”
Lin Yu pointed to a small, long scar on his arm and asked, “What about that one?”
Li Heming tilted his head to take a look, thought for a while, and said, “My father whipped me.”
Lin Yu opened her eyes wide after hearing this. She never expected this to be the reason, but she soon remembered that the Li family was a general family, and family discipline and punishment would definitely be much stricter than those of other famous families.
She thought about it, pulled Li Heming, and asked him to turn back. Sure enough, she saw several interlaced whip marks on his back. The scar has faded, but one could guess how severe it was.
Lin Yu’s heart ached, and her eyes became w*t: “How could he hit so hard? Your back is ruined.”
Lin Yu felt sad for him. Seeing her red eyes, Li Heming reached out to wipe the water from her eyes and comforted her: “Why are you crying? It’s in the past.”
Lin Yu frowned: “He doesn’t need to hit you that hard.”
“It’s not that hard.” Li Heming said: “When I was young, I fought with my brother and fell into the ancestral hall. I knocked over the ancestral tablets, scattering the incense all over the floor. I almost burned down the ancestral hall.”
Lin Yu was stunned after hearing this, and then she stowed her sadness, slowly loosened her hand, and changed her words: “…The beating was too light.”
