- Chapter 23 - To Have Such A Plethora Of Moe Elements.
“I… I arrived first!”
“No, you’re wrong! I arrived first!”
“Move aside!”
“Let me go up!”
Beside the cold and metallic Iron Fortress, individuals with their families and luggage were pushing and shoving each other, wearing fierce and panicked expressions, desperately trying to squeeze their way towards the door of the Iron Fortress.
“Sigh~” Mumei spoke in a somewhat disinterested tone, “So, someone else has already arrived before us?”
Fang Li nodded, confirming Mumei’s words.
Even Fang Li has only with just three days of wondering found the location of the Iron Fortress used for evacuation. Needless to say, the residents of Aragane Station were even more aware of it.
Therefore, when the alarm bell rang, the first thought that crossed the minds of the Aragane Station residents was to seek refuge here.
However, with everyone wanting to escape, this was the scene that naturally unfolded.
People pushing and shoving, pushing and shoving, resulting in fewer people actually managing to go up.
“We should have all gone up by now if they just went one by one,” Mumei furrowed her beautiful brows.
Fang Li also furrowed his brows and, in response to Mumei’s somewhat dazed expression, retrieved her steam gun and raised it in the air.
“Bang!”
The sound of a gunshot echoed loudly.
“?!…”
The panicked commotion disappeared instantly.
Every individual turned their heads to look at Fang Li, who held the gun, their expressions frozen.
In this situation, Fang Li narrowed his eyes.
“Go up one by one, no crowding allowed!”
Fang Li aimed the steam gun at the crowd, his tone carrying a chilling calmness.
“If any of you continue to push and cause everyone to be unable to escape in the end, rather than letting you endanger everyone, I might as well eliminate you now. Those who don’t believe me are welcome to give it a try.”
The whole scene fell silent.
Then, one by one, the crowd swallowed nervously.
Clearly, no one wanted to take risks at this moment.
And Fang Li wasn’t joking, of course.
Although he had never killed anyone before, Fang Li was certain that if he decided to act, there would be no hesitation whatsoever.
After all, Fang Li had no emotions about “Death” whatsoever.
So Fang Li surveyed the crowd, pointed the steam gun at the person closest to the door, and said, “You’re the first one, get in!”
Upon hearing this, the person, though frightened by Fang Li’s gun, breathed a sigh of relief and quickly climbed into the Iron Fortress.
“Next, it’s your turn!”
“And then you!”
“And you too!”
“Very well, one by one, get in!”
Under Fang Li’s command, the panicked crowd suddenly became orderly.
In the end, people hardly needed Fang Li’s guidance anymore. They silently entered the Iron Fortress one by one, based on their distance from the door.
Observing this scene, Mumei couldn’t help but glance at Fang Li and remark, “You really do things haphazardly.”
“In the midst of the Kabane army, one person recklessly running around and even slaughtering. Do you have the right to criticize me?” Fang Li tossed the steam gun back to Mumei and added, “Besides, if I didn’t do this, you would probably be annoyed by the commotion, wouldn’t you?”
“…It’s as if you understand me well,” Mumei murmured involuntarily.
However, at that moment, Mumei suddenly felt dizzy, and her petite body swayed before falling to the side.
“Hey?” Fang Li quickly caught hold of Mumei.
Suddenly, a pleasant fragrance wafted from Mumei, entering Fang Li’s nostrils and causing his eyebrows to raise. It made Fang Li’s heart itch a bit.
This girl, although she appeared young and even had a touch of innocence, possessed an undeniable charm even at her age.
If this were Earth, a girl of this age would simply be considered a child. There wouldn’t be any charm to speak of, right?
This realization made Fang Li understand that he was indeed in the world of anime and manga, the so-called “2D world.”
Only in the 2D world could there be such a plethora of moe elements.
(If this were Earth, this girl would surely be pursued relentlessly, wouldn’t she?)
Fang Li chuckled wryly in his mind, then asked the girl in his arms, “What’s wrong with you?”
“…No, it’s nothing,” Mumei rubbed her eyes, yawned, and her voice weakened. She said, “I’m just a bit tired, that’s all.”
“Tired?” Fang Li’s heart stirred slightly, as if understanding something.
However, Fang Li didn’t ask any further questions. He simply said, “Do you want to rest for a while?”
“That’s fine…” Mumei yawned once again, genuinely looking exhausted.
“I’ll take you to the Iron Fortress to rest then.” Fang Li made a decisive decision.
But before Fang Li could act, a cacophony of footsteps suddenly resounded, capturing everyone’s attention.
Fang Li looked intently and smiled.
The owner of those bustling footsteps were none other than the samurai’s of the Yomogawa Family.
Among them were Konochi Kurusu and Araka Kibito.
And the person who received the support of Konochi Kurusu, Araka Kibito, and the other samurai’s is none other than Yomogawa Ayame.
“You…”
Seeing Fang Li holding Mumei in front of the Iron Fortress, Konochi Kurusu and Araka Kibito seemed somewhat surprised.
“Fang Li-san!”
Yomogawa Ayame also spotted Fang Li and her expression brightened, joyful that Fang Li was still alive.
Unfortunately, before Fang Li could exchange greetings with everyone, chaos erupted once again.
Not only were members of the Yomogawa Family present, but also a group of sheltered civilians.
These civilians had no idea what had just transpired. Upon appearing here, they immediately panicked and rushed towards the Iron Fortress, desperately trying to be the first ones to enter.
“Everyone!” Yomogawa Ayame finally reacted and hurriedly said, “Please don’t panic! One by one, enter the Iron Fortress!”
However, the civilians completely ignored Yomogawa Ayame and continued rushing towards the Iron Fortress.
“Bang!”
The sound of a gunshot echoed once again.
The crowd of people rushing forward came to an abrupt halt, freezing in place, their eyes wide open, fixed on what lay ahead.
Fang Li held a drowsy Mumei in one hand and grasped Mumei’s gun in the other. After sighing, Fang Li looked ahead.
“One by one, go up. Don’t keep repeating the same thing, it’s boring.”
