Chapter 106
“Beautiful.”
When I turned toward the familiar voice, I saw Asel smiling.
Wearing a soft blue suit that perfectly matched his signature pink hair, Asel looked even more radiant today.
“It’s such a shame to send you off to that grumpy, dark guy in the next room.”
“Did you go see Ricardo first?”
“Yeah.”
“Hmm… So I’m second? Ricardo first?”
“No, not second. You’re the grand finale. The star of the show always appears last, you know that, right?”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Asel’s playful words.
“Oh no, don’t laugh. You look even prettier when you do. You’re about to become someone else’s bride in 32 minutes—don’t go stealing the heart of some other man.”
Even on my wedding day, Asel was still Asel.
Despite his cheeky teasing, I felt my tense shoulders relax, comforted by his usual demeanor.
“Thank you, Asel.”
“For what?”
“For everything. I wouldn’t have been able to marry Ricardo so smoothly without you. I really mean it.”
This was genuine. Thanks to Asel, Klein Wensbury had received the punishment he deserved, and Ricardo and I could marry without opposition from the Winkaiser family.
Of course, even without Asel’s help, I would have made sure Klein paid for his crimes, and Ricardo would have married me even if it meant severing ties with his family.
But Asel’s help made everything much easier.
I smiled warmly at him, and he returned my smile in kind, like a silent acknowledgment.
“You’re truly beautiful, Bianca.”
Asel reached out and gently pushed back the veil that had been covering the side of my face.
“You’re the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen.”
For some reason, his voice sounded slightly sad—wistful, even. Or maybe it was just my imagination.
And perhaps Asel wished for me not to notice that, either.
“I know.”
So I pretended not to notice the tenderness hidden in his voice.
“Of course you do.”
Asel smiled at my joke, shaking his head as if I were hopeless.
“But Asel, one day you’ll see a bride even more beautiful than me—right next to you, at your own wedding.”
Asel’s eyes widened slightly as he looked at me.
“Didn’t you once say that would never happen?”
“Objectively, yes. But beauty is subjective, isn’t it?”
I reached out and gave a playful poke to the left side of his chest.
“Someday, this part of you will tell you that the person standing next to you is the most beautiful bride in the world.”
Asel’s gaze followed my hand, traveling up my arm until his eyes met mine.
“Do you think so? That Ricardo is the most amazing man in the world?”
“Yes. I think he’s the most amazing groom in the world.”
Without the slightest hesitation, I answered, and Asel let out a small laugh.
“Now Sprendo will have the most annoying couple ever.”
I laughed along with him, lowering my hand from his chest.
“Bianca.”
Without missing a beat, Asel caught my hand. I could feel the warmth of his hand even through my smooth wedding gloves.
“There was a time when I thought your name didn’t suit you.”
I chuckled at his words. To be honest, I had often thought the same.
The meaning of “Bianca”—white—never felt like it suited me. I wasn’t the type for snowy purity or lily-like innocence.
I thought I was more suited to vibrant reds, striking golds, or even cool, beautiful blues.
“But seeing you today, I think I was wrong.”
I looked at him curiously, waiting for him to explain.
“White suits you perfectly. Your love, pure and devoted to only one person, is a perfect match for this color. Just like your white wedding dress.”
It was the first time anyone had ever said that my name suited me.
“Bianca Croft. My long-time friend, the wife of another dear friend, and the woman who was once my wistful first love—beautiful Bianca Croft.”
Asel smiled, and I smiled back.
“I hope you’ll be happy.”
I could feel his sincerity through the hand that still held mine.
“Don’t worry.”
I gripped his hand firmly in return.
“I already am.”

“It’s a wedding! A wedding! A wedding!”
Lara smiled brightly as she scattered flowers from her basket without reserve. The colorful, lovely flowers flew through the air, decorating the blue sky beautifully before gently falling to the ground.
“Isn’t she adorable?”
Ricardo whispered softly in my ear, his voice filled with pride and affection.
“She’s absolutely lovely.”
I lifted my head slightly and whispered back in his ear. At my words, a gentle smile appeared on Ricardo’s face.
“Well then, shall we walk down the flower path our daughter has laid for us, and grant me the honor of becoming your husband?”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Ricardo’s playful but sincere words.
Who would have imagined?
At least, I never could have.
I never thought Ricardo was the kind of person to say things like that, or to smile so warmly.
I used to think he was just inherently reserved, indifferent to everything, and naturally unfeeling.
“I gladly grant you the honor.”
I answered as I lightly placed my hand on the arm he extended, and Ricardo smiled brighter than ever. His black eyes, looking at me, sparkled with affection.
With our steps in sync, we began walking gracefully down the flower path.
“The most beautiful bride and the most handsome groom in the world!”
Lara, holding her now-empty basket, shouted cheerfully from the other end of the flower path. Loud enough for all the guests to hear.
Even the dignified guests couldn’t help but laugh aloud at Lara’s adorable declaration.
Ricardo and I walked through the beautiful flower path, surrounded by people’s warm laughter and blessings.
“…In the name of the holy God, I declare these two as husband and wife.”
Hearing the priest’s final words, I let out a small sigh.
How long I had waited to hear those words!
How hard I had fought to reach this moment!
“The two of you may now share a kiss of oath.”
Ah…!
This was the real final line from the priest.
“Bianca.”
Ricardo called my name softly. When I turned my head, I saw that he had already turned toward me.
His arm loosened around me, and his other hand gently wrapped around my waist. His foot stepped forward, his foot brushing against my dress as he strode toward me.
When I naturally tilted my head up, I saw Ricardo gazing at me as if he had been waiting for this moment.
“My beloved wife.”
The hand on my waist pulled me close, pressing my body against his.
When we were as close as we could be, Ricardo slowly leaned in.
Looking into his affectionate eyes and warm smile, I closed my eyes.
His lips touched mine lightly. They were soft, tender, and full of affection.
Cheers, applause, and laughter erupted from all around us.
Our lips parted slightly, and I slowly opened my eyes.
In front of me was Ricardo—now my husband. It was my turn to speak.
“My beloved husband, Ricardo.”
With the kiss of oath shared, we were now truly married.
Overwhelmed by a rush of emotions, I looked at Ricardo. He seemed to be feeling the same, as if we were sharing this moment through an unspoken understanding.
Though we once looked in different directions, we now shared the same feelings, knowing it just by looking into each other’s eyes.
“Now, I—”
The priest’s voice came just as I wondered if this was truly the final word.
But before the priest could finish, Ricardo suddenly tightened his grip on my waist, pulling me closer once more.
His lips covered mine again.
Soft and warm, his lips pressed against mine. Surprised, I involuntarily opened my mouth, and as if waiting, his breath gently slipped into mine.
Do people usually kiss twice during the oath? That didn’t seem quite right.
And this kiss… If God was watching, He might have been startled by how deep it was.
“Ahem, ahem!”
The priest cleared his throat just as our lips parted, as if he had been waiting for that moment.
It seemed that two oath kisses weren’t part of the usual ceremony, and judging by the priest’s experience, this kiss didn’t quite fit the decorum of a wedding.
“May God’s blessings fill the path ahead of these two newlyweds.”
As I turned around, I saw the many people who had come to celebrate with us.
And beyond them, the flower path still stretched ahead of us.
Yes. That’s how every story ends.
The two lived happily ever after.
Just like all lovers who truly love each other do.
