14. If You Want to Use… (7)
Translated by: ???
“What’s going on, really? Why are you crying? Why are you sobbing? This is crazy, really.”
Eve, who had planned to severely caution the man who had secretly peeped into her private space, lost her anger upon seeing Alberic’s face thin with tears falling drop by drop, as if he had already been severely scolded. She asked, tongue clicking, with a look of disbelief.
“Why are you crying? What’s the problem?”
“I am, ugh, that, that…”
Alberic stumbled on his words and choked, even under Eve’s sharp prodding. Eve, who removed her hands from his chin and hair, scratched her head with a complex look before realizing that he was still a patient, finally completely calmed down, and wiped his tears by rubbing the edge of his cheek.
“What are you sniveling about like you did something great? Stop it, stop.”
“That, I…”
“Yes, yes. You.”
“I can do better, more.”
“What?”
“……That.”
Alberic’s words, interrupted by his sobs and occasional hiccups, caused Eve’s eyes to widen, almost sparkling with realization, as she thought it over.
“……You couldn’t have been jealous, could you?”
“……”
“What’s going on? Really? You got jealous because I only find him pretty? Really? Seriously?”
“……I will not carelessly touch others as you have told me not to.”
“Yes, yes. So?”
“Because you are the only one for me. That, that’s why.”
Eve intently stared at Alberic’s face. Alberic’s cheeks were bright red, as if scorched by a forge’s flame, and the man, even his ears blushing, hesitated and stammered as he finished speaking.
“Shouldn’t you, care more about me?”
Another tear dropped from the man’s eyes. Alberic, seemingly both embarrassed and sorrowful even after speaking his mind, bit his lip and avoided Eve’s gaze, his cheeks flushed red.
“To ask for affection because you don’t hit people, do you have a conscience, brother?”
“……”
“Anyway, well, I’ll think about it. I thought what was between us was just a contractual relationship, but it seems you thought otherwise, brother?”
“Didn’t you already know it would turn out this way?”
“Who knows. How could I have predicted people’s emotions?”
“……Yes. I admit defeat. Allow me to be your dog. If you command, I will even lick your feet.”
Alberic let out a long sigh and whispered weakly, like a person raising a white flag. Despite the rather explicit words, the man’s expression seemed utterly forlorn.
Eve’s lips curled into a smirk as she listened to Alberic’s declaration of surrender. Unless his head had been messed up from being beaten too much, there was no other way to explain why this man would cling to her except for the coercive power of the original work.
‘After all that arguing, how could he cling to me and beg me not to abandon him like this, unless he’s crazy?’
“Are you serious? I can’t let you off.”
“I’m not the kind of person to joke with you on this subject.”
Instead of wiping the mocking smile from her lips, Eve took a few steps back, putting distance between them.
Alberic, a few steps away, glanced at Eve, who was snapping her fingers, then looked briefly at the man sprawled on the bed like a corpse, and silently bent down to place his hands and knees on the floor, standing on all fours.
Without a sound, Eve watched with satisfaction as Alberic obediently crawled toward her. When he reached her feet, she stopped, reaching out to gently stroke his cheek and jawline as he knelt before her.
“Well, Alberic, you sure do a great job of crawling like a dog.”
Despite Eve’s gentle mockery, the man silently surrendered his cheek to her touch. If this place was hell, he thought, such a sweet hell would never come again.
“Good. Since you’ll become a dog, I should treat you like one.”
With those words, Eve fastened a leash around the submissive Alberic’s neck, who had surrendered to become a dog, and dragged him around her private study, playing with him for a while.
Alberic, fearing someone would come into her space and see his humiliating posture, quivered under Eve’s oppressive hand as he was tossed around. After receiving blows from a thick hardcover book and begging twice, he was finally allowed to take off the leash.
The inside of his sticky underwear uncomfortably dampened between his legs, but the discomfort within his clothes was overshadowed by the pain, which was at the same time thrilling to the point of tingling. Alberic pressed his lips against the pale top of Eve’s foot, where the lean tendons were visible, paying homage to his generous master.
“Tha-thank you……”
“You may stand now.”
Guiding the staggering Alberic, who had trouble even standing properly, Eve, seated on the mahogany desk in her study, caressed the man’s cheek and wiped his tear-soaked face. Then she gently stroked his reddened eyes and smiled affectionately.
“Behave with discretion. Think carefully about how to act in order to gain favor.”
Seeing her smiling face, Alberic somehow felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up in fear, and he unknowingly nodded slightly.

Castel, waking up as the sun was almost set, couldn’t even make eye contact with Eve, who handed him freshly dried clothes with a smile, and quickly dressed and hurried out of the mansion.
The butler approached Eve cautiously as she looked out the window of the reception room, watching the back of the carriage leaving the mansion’s main gate. He told her that a visiting card had arrived, but the sender was unknown.
The butler, wondering whether it was appropriate to hand over a card written in an unknown language that he couldn’t even identify, decided to speak to her directly. After hearing his words, Eve requested the card to check the back.
After checking the contents, Eve burned the card and calmly smiled, saying she didn’t understand it and suggesting it might be a wrong delivery.
Having sent the butler away, Eve, with a heavy heart, summoned a few maids who especially showed loyalty to her and asked them to clean her bedroom where traces of someone’s stay were noticeably left.
Watching them air the room and remove the bedding with indifferent expressions, Eve changed out of her tunic dress alone.
Eve, now dressed in a soft shirt, dark brown trousers, and suspenders, took out a deep ash-brown cap that was tucked away in her wardrobe and firmly pressed it onto her head.
Eve, having twisted her hair and tucked it into the hat, looked out the window at the sun setting until the sounds from the hallway completely disappeared. Then, she carefully left the mansion through the window.
By using a shared large carriage, changing carriages multiple times, and passing through complex alleys that intertwined like a spider web, she arrived at a three-story stone building on a desolate alley.
Eve went straight up as the card instructed. Upon opening the old, dusty door that looked like a closed shop on the second floor, she was captivated by the interior that, unlike the shabby door, was decorated like a cozy cafeteria.
William, who seemed to have been waiting, sitting on a brownish sofa, felt her presence and looked up from his book. Eve, who had naturally sat across from him, glanced around and asked.
“From the outside, it looked like this place was out of business. How did you know about it?”
“Well, it’s a place that was originally bought for this purpose.”
“……Oh.”
“You can speak freely here. My friend working here can’t hear. Ah, would you like something to drink?”
“If that’s the case, I won’t refuse. Just give me any tea you have.”
As Eve spoke, resting her chin on the table, William nodded. Shortly thereafter, an elderly man approached at William’s gesture, took his instructions, nodded his head, and went back inside the shop.
Eve, noticing a hint of hesitation on William’s face as he ordered the drinks, silently crossed her legs and sat. Only after the drinks were placed on the table did she speak first.
“Where’s the man who follows you around all the time?”
“Ah, Cedric.”
William tapped his lips with the tip of his long finger. Pondering how to answer, he gave a vague smile and asked Eve.
“Do you know anything about ?this person’s? family situation?”
“Roughly.”
