Hunter: I'm Really Not a Nen Exorcist - Chapter 14
What Light meant by leaving no trace of blood was not reliant on some special techniques. Instead, he meticulously cleaned up every drop of blood, just like a dedicated professional cleaner.
Moyu, who was observing from a distance, wasn’t particularly disappointed. He noticed that Light’s sense of smell was exceptional, allowing him to pinpoint even the tiniest drops of blood hidden in shadows.
After a considerable amount of time, Light finally wiped away the last drop of blood, then pulled out a specially folded body bag. For a professional blacklist hunter, carrying such a bag seemed reasonable. After placing Ian into the body bag, Light looked satisfied.
“Finally done.”
“Good work.”
Having watched the entire process, Moyu timely remarked.
Light glanced at Moyu and chuckled, “Were you disappointed? Were you expecting some professional cleaning techniques or specialized tools to clean up the blood?”
“I didn’t think that much.”
Moyu shook his head and then inquired, “Your sense of smell is impressive. Is it a natural talent or the result of training?”
“Neither,” Light replied, sitting beside Moyu. “I just used Nen to enhance my sense of smell… well, that’s not exactly accurate. I should say I used Nen to boost the functions of my nose.”
Moyu appeared surprised and somewhat hesitant.
Light looked at him and said, “Don’t give me that ‘this might be his Nen ability’ look. Strictly speaking, Enhancers like me who are balanced in offense and defense don’t need to develop unique Nen abilities. Our sheer aura volume and physical abilities are our trump cards.”
“There are also Enhancers like me who choose to use Nen to strengthen certain parts of their bodies due to professional needs. There are actually many who do this, but…”
Pausing for a moment, Light seemed unsure whether to continue imparting deeper knowledge about Nen to Moyu. He wasn’t clear about the extent of Moyu’s understanding of Nen. Intervening too early might do more harm than good.
“Hmm?”
As Light hesitated, his attention shifted suddenly towards the temple’s main entrance.
“They’re quick,” noting a scent, he said as he headed towards Moyu’s room.
He intended to chat with Monica.
From Light’s actions, Moyu deduced that the person responsible for collecting the body might have arrived.
Three minutes later…
As Moyu had guessed, a team of about ten people arrived at the doorstep. At the same time, Light and Monica both stepped out of the room.
“Mr. Light,” a burly-browed middle-aged man from the group quickly approached Light.
“Let’s proceed as usual,” Light replied, showing his Hunter License. “However, the body examination can’t be done here.”
“Understood,” the middle-aged man responded, not questioning or objecting to Light’s requirements.
“Mr. Light, your identity has been verified. The bounty for Ian Achille will be transferred to your exclusive account as soon as the relevant department approves it. This process usually takes a week. Additionally, your achievement in capturing him will be reported to the Hunter Association as soon as possible. Please wait for their response.”
After verifying the Hunter License, the middle-aged man handed it back to Light with a respectful manner.
“Okay.” Light took his Hunter License back and said, “You can leave now, and also, please escort this lady down the mountain.”
“Sure. Is there anything else?” The man gestured to his companions to carry the body bag.
“No more.”
Light waved his hand dismissively.
The middle-aged man promptly left with his group. As Monica, who was accompanying them, left the temple, she turned around to give Moyu one last glance.
Watching them leave, Light sneered, “An achievement? Always so sycophantic.”
“The process of claiming the bounty seems easier than I imagined,” Moyu commented, walking next to Light.
He suddenly felt that becoming a blacklist hunter might be a good choice. Not only could he hone his skills through battles, but he could also earn a lot of money.
“It’s because of this,” Light held up his Hunter License, “If it were an amateur hunter claiming the bounty, they might face delays of up to a month just for the funds to be transferred.”
Moyu remained silent.
After everything was settled, Moyu offered Light a place to stay for the night and then went to rest himself.
With about two hours left before dawn, Moyu lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Having just learned Nen today, he had already encountered two Nen users.
Both had revealed Moyu’s strengths and exposed his weaknesses.
“I’m still far from being good enough,” Moyu thought.
Before closing his eyes, another realization struck him: Both Ian and Light were characters who had never appeared in the original story. Yet, in Moyu’s eyes, their combined abilities seemed formidable.
So, how overpowering might the presences of the world’s top five Nen users, Hunter Association’s president Netero, the Zodiac Twelve, the Zoldyck family, and the Phantom Troupe from the original story be?
As sleep began to claim him, Moyu’s last thought was to exploit as much training value from Light in the next ten days as possible.
The next morning, a thin mist enveloped the mountains.
Despite only having slept for three hours, Moyu woke up. Yet, Light had risen even earlier and had kindly prepared breakfast – a boiled whole pig.
“You woke up just in time,” Light beckoned Moyu over for the boiled pig breakfast. While roasted might taste better, boiling was quicker and more convenient. All Light wanted from the wild boar was the nutrition and energy it offered.
Moyu looked oddly at the pig, chopped into eight parts and lying in a large iron pot. This was breakfast? It seemed characteristic of Enhancers to focus intensely on nourishing their bodies. Moyu, not wanting to refuse Light’s good intentions, joined in and shared the rather bland meal.
After finishing the entire pig, the two began their main agenda for the day.
“Before we start our sparring, you should at least master ‘Ren’ to make our training effective. If you agree with this, I’ll teach you how to master ‘Ren’ quickly,” Light said in the spacious courtyard.
“I agree,” Moyu responded. While he was aware of the ‘Four Major Principles’, he lacked the experience that a seasoned Nen user like Light had.
Seeing Moyu’s willingness, Light started his guidance, “Ren is about opening up all the pores in your body, letting your Nen flow out freely… My personal suggestion is to imagine that you are desperately holding in a bowel movement, but you can’t find a toilet anywhere.”
“???”
Upon hearing this, Moyu’s lips twitched involuntarily.
