Handsome Trash - 37
“What?”
His d*ck was already straining through his pants in anticipation. It was like his d*ck was separate from his brain and moved on its own without a single thought.
Hyewon just had surgery to remove a lump from her ut*rus. If he acted like a h*rny bastard now, he’d be thrown out by her and be screwed for life.
“It’s been a month now. When I asked the doctor, they said it was fine as long as we were careful.”
“Have you lost your mind?”
He said that, but Eunhyuk’s exhale was hot.
One month to the day. Yes, it has been a month since he held Hyewon.
“My taste is trash.”
“Funny.”
Eunhyuk couldn’t stop thinking about his erect c*ck, or about Hyewon seducing him, telling him it would be fine if he was careful.
He was a mess. It wouldn’t be enough to protect her.
“Uh, I had a job interview yesterday.”
“I know.”
He didn’t watch her every move because he still had a job that he had to take care of.
Even as he took care of her, everyone in his company was looking up to him, so he couldn’t be irresponsible and put it on the back burner.
“I feel like I’ll get sicker if I stop working.”
To put it another way, Hyewon felt bitter that everyone was looking at her for being with Eunhyuk, but not for herself. One thing is for sure though, being in a relationship with Kang Hyewon didn’t give Eunhyuk the right to monopolize her.
Right now, the thought of not having Hyewon completely under his control was unbearable, but as long as she remained by his side, those worries were washed away.
“It isn’t much, but there is a flower shop nearby that was looking for someone.”
“…”
“I was afraid you wouldn’t like it if I told you about the hassle and complexity of the job, so I just decided to go ahead and do it. So, what should I do now that the owner called me and asked me to come and work for him?”
It was a cautious question, but one that already had an answer.
‘I really want to be working there, please understand.’
Eunhyuk’s heart stirred, but not by the tone of her voice, but by her firm plan to listen to his opinion and then decide.
“Well, it’s better than your job before.”
“So I can?”
“What right do I have to decide? It’s not like I have the right to stop you, even if I say I don’t like it.”
“I see.”
Hyewon looked disappointed in him for some reason. Does she want him to be controlling?
Eunhyuk couldn’t help but feel his nerves twitch with every reaction from Hyewon, especially since he had a history of trying to control her and pissing her off.
“What’s with the hot and cold reaction?”
“Actually, I was walking by and I saw a lily under the florist’s sign that said ‘Part-Time Worker Wanted.’”
“…”
“If I hadn’t put a lily in your room at that time…”
She paused, her eyes unfocused for a moment, as if recalling their reunion like it was eons ago.
“Would we have never met again? Or would we have met again in some other way? I can’t help but wonder.”
“We would have met again.”
How can you be so sure?”
He had no doubt they would meet again.
Even if it wasn’t necessarily because of the lily, there would have been something else to connect the two of them. Eunhyuk was sure of that.
Or maybe because he wanted to believe it since he wanted Kang Hyewon so much.
If he hadn’t met her then and there…
Hyewon had pulled out a piece of his memory and made him relive it.
‘It would have been painful. I would have missed you every day, and then hated you, and hated you some more before I loved and missed you again, like a mad man.’
His mouth grew dry. Even though he knew that the wine was only making his feelings more tumultuous, he continued to gulp it down some more.
“Stop drinking alcohol now. It seems like you’ve been drinking a lot since earlier.”
“Okay.”
At her request, Eunhyuk quickly put down the glass.
“I’ll listen to you.”
“Why so suddenly?”
“Not suddenly. I’ve been listening to you more, though you may not have noticed.”
Cha Eunhyuk may not have whispered to her that she was a complete treasure in this world or didn’t care about going back and forth to Bonju-ri. He may not have given his pure heart and body to her and made her heart flutter like they were in a fairytale.
But his feelings for Hyewon, though twisted, are more profound than any other…
“I thought you would have wanted to keep me locked up in this house and only let me see you because of your greed.”
She knew he was obsessive, but she knew he was sincere about wanting to be together.
“I thought you didn’t want to get married right away.”
“I didn’t say no…”
“You didn’t say you wanted to.”
Eunhyuk understands better than anyone why Hyewon is skeptical about marriage.
She said she didn’t want to lose him, but that didn’t mean she wanted to be dependent on him.
Maybe Hyewon was the wise one.
“Eunhyuk, we aren’t even thirty yet.”
Maybe it was because she knew that if she leaned on him too much, it would be harder when she faced the reality of marriage.
“Well…”
“Two years until thirty.”
Hyewon used her fingers to show Eunhyuk’s age.
“Does that matter?”
“We’ve only been together for a short time, and we’ve been separated for two years. Wouldn’t you be more certain after seeing each other for that long?”
Whether it was a longing caused by a short encounter or if it was true love. Hyewon wanted a grace period; a time to test the waters.
She wasn’t arguing for or against the relationship.
“This is all your logic.”
“We’re going to stay together anyway.”
“Aren’t you going to move out?”
“There’s someone who has been following me around.”
“That’s why you aren’t leaving?”
“I can’t get out.”
This is the cautious Kang Hyewon, who taps on stone bridges before crossing them.
She is more wise than Eunhyuk’s emotional, impulsive self.
“Then why do you like it so much?”
honestly this whole section was difficult to follow along but here is the summary: hyewon wants a job bc she doesnt want to depend on eunhyuk, eunhyuk knows this and even though he wants her to depend on him, he knows how scared she is of depending on him bc gma. he knows he cant control her but his lack of control make hyewon a little hesitant and that whole bit about the marriage part is him reminding her basically why he hadnt proposed to her yet, but also him being like “i rlly wanna marry u though” but then shes like we arent even thirty broski. then the “moving out” section is referring to previous chapters where she only planned to stay w him for a little while as she tried to find somewhere to live, but she basically cant leave bc of him
