Dystopia Of Night - Chapter 4 Part 2
Amidst the atmosphere of staring each other down with eyes filled with a monstrous mix of killing intent and anger, Yuju was the only one not caught up in it.
“Stop it! Yeonji-ssi!”
Yuju, who suddenly stood up, grabbed Yeonji’s arm.
“This fucking… are you just going to let that crazy woman get away with this?”
Hansol, wiping the blood off his cheek with his hand, looked at Sehan and asked. He wanted to drive Yeonji away from the group.
Sehan had also grown tired of this state of panic that had been going on for over a week. In his heart, he wanted to agree with Hansol’s opinion.
“……”
The problem was that Yuju disagreed with them. She knew that both of them wanted to get rid of Yeonji.
However, if they were to cast out Yeonji here, it would be no different from telling her to die alone. The forest was seething with unknown monsters, and being left alone there would make her nothing more than prey for those monsters.
There were only four people left in this world. It wasn’t so easy for them to give up on a human life like this.
“Why are you doing this, Yeonji-ssi?”
Yeonji began acting strangely the day after Hae-jun died. On that day, after Sehan succeeded in hunting a bird, they all gathered around to cook and eat the meat. However, out of nowhere, while enjoying the meal, Yeonji suddenly screamed at the sight of Hansol.
‘Stay away! Stay away!!!’
Hansol, who was pointed out for no apparent reason, looked bewildered, and Yuju and Sehan were equally perplexed by the situation.
Then, after a while, her attitude changed instantly, as if she had never been afraid of Hansol before. In an instant, it was as if Hansol had become her enemy; she would glare and charge at him.
This is the first time she’s ever hit Hansol, but Yeonji’s attitude has only gotten worse.
“If you don’t tell me the reason, I can’t do anything.”
“I didn’t do anything wrong! It’s all that bastard’s…!”
“Yes, what about Hansol-ssi?”
Yuju remained composed. It was Yeonji’s fault for assaulting Hansol. Yeonji was surprised by Yuju’s change, who had always been pushed around and never got angry. Biting her dry lips, Yeonji wrinkled her face.
“I’ll only tell you, Yuju-ssi. Let’s go over there for a moment.”
Yeonji, who had turned pale blue, pushed Yuju’s body to the side with her trembling hand. The cold radiating from Yeonji’s drenched body seemed to seep into Yuju’s body, making even Yuju shiver.
Yuju had followed Yeonji mainly due to the possibility that Hansol might have seriously wronged Yeonji. She thought it might be something she could only say to someone of the same sex.
Yuju gestured to stop Sehan, who was trying to follow them, then moved behind a thick tree trunk with Yeonji. As the forest closed in, and feeling uneasy, Yeonji kept pulling Yuju towards the forest.
“Let’s talk here. It’s dangerous to go too far, in case something happens.”
Yeonji, who had been staring at the leaves sparkling in the sunlight with a dazed expression, stopped dead in her tracks. Swoosh. The heat of the sun was burning her forehead, but the wind was cold.
“That bastard over there, it’s him.”
A shiver ran down Yuju’s shoulders. Yuju, who had been rubbing her shoulders with her arms, feeling her body grow rapidly cooler, tilted her head.
“What? What did you say?”
“He is not Choi Hansol, but Park Hae-jun.”
Was Yeonji always like that? Murky pupils, disheveled curly hair, and even her bitten, cracked lips. Yuju felt like she was a stranger.
“Park Hae-jun, that guy is lying to all of us.”
A cold breath brushed against Yuju’s ear as she stood there in a daze. The pungent breath made her dizzy.
“He was alive, hehehe… looking at me like that.”
Yeonji whispered in a small voice, and slyly curled the corners of her mouth.
“No, it wasn’t me who killed Park Hae-jun. He died on his own. Why would someone stand there like that? Even my sister died like that… Hehe. If I hadn’t pushed Park Hae-jun away, I would have died. I had no choice. Park Hae-jun, instead of me, no, my sister… Ahhh!”
Yeonji scratched her scalp roughly, muttering to herself. Blood seeped out of her scalp, which was greasy and oily from not being washed.
“Wait a moment. Yeonji, please calm down a bit. What are you saying right now… Ugh!”
“I didn’t kill him! I didn’t! I didn’t kill him!”
Yeonji continued to push Yuju’s shoulder forcefully. The strength behind it felt like it could dislocate her shoulder.
Sehan, who had been quietly standing by, couldn’t bear it any longer and intervened. When Sehan grabbed her wrist in the middle of the struggle, Yeonji glared at him fiercely.
“Ha! That’s right! You’re all in on it together, aren’t you? The three of you planned this and deceived me!”
“Stop it, you crazy woman!”
Hansol grabbed Yeonji’s arm and yanked her backwards.
“Let go, let go! Let goooo!”
Veins bulged on Hansol’s backhand as he exerted force, as if he were about to break Yeonji’s arm. Yeonji’s wrist, which had turned pale from lack of blood, looked pale. She used this opportunity to bring her elbow up and swiftly bit down on Hansol’s arm.
“Argh!”
Seizing the moment when Hansol let go, Yeonji pulled out a gun from her pocket.
Startled, Hansol’s eyes widened, and he stumbled back. The gun that originally belonged to Gangsik was in Yuju’s possession through a vote, and Hae-jun’s gun was known to be lost. However, Yeonji had taken Hae-jun’s gun from his corpse and pulled it out now.
“Kim Yeonji-ssi.”
“I’m going to kill you all! I’m going to kill all three of you!”
Sehan called out to Yeonji, but she ignored his words and screamed, aiming the gun at the three of them. Talking to her was never going to work. There was a subtle glint in Sehan’s eyes as he brushed his bangs aside in irritation.
“Go ahead and kill us.”
His voice, tinged with coldness, was as enticing as a winter breeze. Yeonji, as if possessed, tightened her grip on the trigger. The gun was aimed at Yuju. Yuju, who had been staring blankly at her slowly curling fingers, tightly shut her eyes.

“W-Why isn’t it firing?”
Yeonji’s finger fumbled at the trigger.
“Is it loaded?”
“Ah, load…”
Startled by Sehan’s words, Yeonji looked down at the gun in confusion. Seizing the opportunity, Sehan swiftly snatched the gun from Yeonji’s hand.
“You don’t even have a bullet, fuck.”
The whispered voice, meant only for Yeonji’s ears, was distorted and twisted. It sounded like the growl of a predator lurking in the shadows. Looking down at Yeonji, who instinctively trembled in fear, Sehan looked at her with a disdainful expression and slowly backed away from her.
“W-Why are there no b-bullets… T-There were, definitely…”
Sehan had removed the bullets in advance, but Yeonji couldn’t have known.
“Ha, haa…”
Yuju, who had been standing without breathing, pressed her hand against her chest and took rough breaths.
