Chapter Twelve  Saving Little Fifth 

Fortunately, Mrs. Li met Yu Sheng when she ran to her family’s house, else Yu Sheng wouldn’t have caught up with the ox cart.

After running for a few minutes, they finally saw an ox cart from a distance but Mrs. Yu and her son were not there. Only a middle-aged man was sitting at the front of the ox cart and it seems that little fifth, who has fainted, is at the back.

Yu Sheng took a deep breath and, without knowing where the burst of energy came from, she sprinted to the vehicle like the wind and stopped in front of the ox cart.

“Stop~”

“Mother!”

Ren Yazi immediately pulled the reins, else the ox would definitely trample her.

The brothers breathed a sigh of relief. They didn’t expect that she would be more anxious than them, and didn’t even worry about her own life.

He is reasonable and he’s not afraid if there is serious trouble, the government won’t do anything about it. On the contrary, they’re unwilling to face lawsuits.

Ren Yazi thought it was funny, “so you think I’ll just give the girl back to you if you say I have to return her? Do you have money? If you want to get your sister back, just pay me three times the amount in silver. I bought your sister for three taels of silver.

At that moment, Ren Yazi understood everything.

Seeing that little fifth was unconscious, everyone anxiously asked what was going on.

Yu Sheng told them what had happened.

The whole village already knew that Yu Sheng had broken up with the Yu family, but they didn’t expect that the Yu family would still have the face to do that. ‘How shameless!’

Everyone sided with Yu Sheng one after another, completely forgetting that just a while ago, they also fought for her children and blamed her.

Yu Sheng smiled, accepting everyone’s kindness and said: “I have troubled you all for aid today. Please have lunch in my yard at noon. I would like to thank you all.”

The villagers suddenly felt embarrassed for a moment. It would have been a normal invitation, but this year was a lean year. Every family had very little food, though everyone was still looking forward to it. In the end, everyone turned their attention to the village.
