Da Li Temple - Chapter 13.2
Chapter 13.2
Witness
Because the distance was too far, Lin Wanqing couldn’t see the maid’s face clearly, but she could see the characteristics of her body. She walked wobbly, and by the looks of it, she was disabled.
??
A string in Lin Wanqing’s head suddenly tightened up. She hurriedly put down her chopsticks and made her way down to a large tree by the side entrance of the Song Mansion. The maid didn’t notice her and commanded a group of people to move this and that into the mansion. The sky was getting darker, and with ten or so people in the group, the crowd was noisy.
??
Lin Wanqing muddled through the crowd of helpers and followed them into the Song Mansion, carrying the musical instruments. They traveled through the main courtyard, walked the corridor along the side hall to the back of the mansion, piled the things in their hands in a hut, and followed the steward to set up the stage.
??
Lin Wanqing hurriedly and quietly circled to the other side of the house, following that lame servant girl from afar. She had traveled all the way and roughly memorized the compound’s layout, avoiding the guards at the entrance and following her to the outside of one of the main halls of the other courtyard. The maid pushed the door and walked in.
??
Initially, Lin Wanqing wanted to lurk here before mixing up with the troupe to leave, until a childish voice rang out from behind her, “Who are you?”
??
It was a young child holding a candy in one hand while looking up at her with a frown.
??
Lin Wanqing was speechless, not knowing how to answer. But during this moment of hesitation, the child suddenly shouted. The child’s voice was high-pitched and penetrating.
??
Lin Wanqing wanted to cover the child’s mouth, but he had already cried and run away, so chasing after him was tantamount to sending her to her death. She weighed her options and decided to find a place to hide first. Ten paces ahead, there was a small room. On a dark night without lights, no one would be there. She entered the room from a half-open window and leaped inside with her arms propped up.
??
Outside, the footsteps of the household servants chasing after her and a cacophony of human voices soon resounded. Worried they would break in, Lin Wanqing touched a wooden door panel through the hazy moonlight. She groped her hand over it a few times, realizing it was a tall walk-in closet, and thought she could fit inside.
Footsteps had already reached the door. Someone fumbled for a key to unlock it, the brass lock making a chilling clicking sound.
??
Lin Wanqing didn’t think anymore, and when she opened the closet, an arm suddenly stretched out from inside, pulling her hand and yanking it toward the closet!
??
Someone pushed open the wooden door, but the room was as silent as ever. The servants slipped around with torches. Their swords thumping the furniture.
??
Lin Wanqing in the closet was scared silly. The man had pressed down on the aorta in her wrist after dragging her in just now, and his other hand, at the moment, was covering her mouth.
??
What the hell is this situation? Could it be that other than her, there was another person who had nothing to do but come to the residence of a third-grade official to seek death?
??
Lin Wanqing slandered in her heart, but her body was stiff and dared not to move a muscle. She was afraid of being found and killed. Between her fluctuating thoughts, a layer of sweat quickly dripped down her back.
??
“Don’t make a sound,” a cold and low voice rings out toward her hot ears, quite familiar.
??
Lin Wanqing was stunned, wanting to turn her head to look, but that person’s hand pressed her back.
??
“Don’t move!” He was a bit impatient, and the hand that pinched her artery exerted more force.
??
At this time, the guards had already completed a round of search and were ready to leave with nothing. A voice suddenly stopped when it reached the closet, and the next moment, Lin Wanqing saw a beam of firelight coming through the cracks of the closet.
??
Not good! He was going to open the closet!
??
The person behind her also seemed to notice, slightly loosened some of her hands, and pushed her forward.
??
No way! Is this person preparing to throw her out first when someone opens the door and then waits for an opportunity to escape himself?
??
“What are you doing?!” A sharp female voice rang out from outside the door, followed by a flurry of footsteps.
??
Those present stopped their searches and arrived at her respectfully, “Concubine Wang.”
??
Lin Wanqing’s heart, which was about to pop out of her throat, suddenly loosened. It seemed that she wouldn’t be pushed out for the time being.
??
“My chamber, is it something you underlings can enter at will?!”
??
“No, Concubine.” a light flickered in front of the closet’s crack, and a man explained, “Just now, Young Master said that he saw someone scary, and that’s why Concubine Li asked us to check.”
??
Concubine Wang sneered, “What kind of thing is Concubine Li? Tonight, a theater troupe in the mansion is setting up the stage. It’s normal to see one or two living people. Young Master is making a fuss. Are you all going crazy, too?!”
??
The crowd choked and stopped making a sound.
??
“Scram!” Along with Concubine Wang’s shrill yell, the sound of porcelain breaking rang out.
??
The firelight then dimmed, and there was the commotion of the crowd exiting the chamber.
??
Lin Wanqing finally sighed in relief, her taut nerves softening as she gently exhaled. She felt the person behind her tremble, then asked incredulously, “Lin Wanqing?”
??
Hey! She should have thought a long time ago. Except for Lord Su from Da Li Temple, who else can be so reckless to visit the Song Residence at night?
??
At this time, the chamber became bright. Lin Wanqing turned back and nodded her head, and through the faint light, she saw Su Moyi’s helpless eyes.
??
After confirming each other eyes, they became slightly reassured. They were just about to figure out how to get out of the situation, but they heard Concubine Wang softly call out to a certain place in the room, “Sanlang.”
??
“…… ” Both of them were stunned at the same time. What is this situation?
??
Getting Lord Su’s approval, Lin Wanqing slightly gaps the wooden door in front of her by a crack. With just a glance, their nerves tensed up again to varying degrees.
??
Behind Concubine Wang’s curtained bed, a well-dressed man had unexpectedly marched out!
??
No wonder she reacted so strongly just now. It was because she had a ghost in her heart as well!
??
“Sanlang~” The woman had a soft voice, so watery it could drip water. She walked towards the man sitting on the edge of the bed with her pair of snowy peaks undulating under the candlelight.
??
“What are you doing here if not going to the main hall to watch a play with Master? It was a close call.” Her tone was scolding but laced with seduction.
??
The man on the bed looked at her and floated a flirtatious smile, and with a single movement of his hand, he swept the person into his arms. His one hand stroked across her glistening white cheeks while his other probed between the woman’s deliberately clenched legs.
??
“That old thing, my father, is having a hard time protecting himself, and he’s doing all this useless stuff all day. It’s better to ride Qingqing here ……” While saying that, he moved his long fingers, rousing a string of the woman’s wailing.
??
“It’s been a few days since I’ve been here. Does Qingqing want Sanlang?” As the man spoke, he undid his pants. As soon as he loosened them, a purplish-black object between his legs poked out impatiently, furious and veined.
??
“Spread your legs. Let Sanlang get in there and have a good time.”
??
Lin Wanqing reacted late to the situation before her, and her entire body froze like a statue —
??
The concubine mother and her son in action, while she and Su Moyi watched —
??
Isn’t this too exciting —
