Chapter 14 part 2
During dinner, Boss Fang showcased his culinary skills, and Su Ci found the food quite delicious, eating a considerable amount.
When they left the computer store, she felt quite full.
Lu Zhe glanced at her, walked into a nearby snack shop, and bought a bottle of yogurt, saying, “Drink this.”
Su Ci took the yogurt, inserted the straw, and began to sip. She took back her words about teasing Lu Zhe for being a typical straight man.
The poor little guy was surprisingly attentive.
“Lu Zhe, aren’t we going home now?” Su Ci asked as she followed Lu Zhe, noticing they weren’t on the route back to their residential area.
“My place doesn’t have the daily necessities you’ll need.”
Lu Zhe took Su Ci to the supermarket. They needed to buy everything—towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, slippers …
Su Ci had never shopped for such items before. She followed Lu Zhe obediently, watching as he pushed the cart and slowly selected items for her.
“Lu Zhe, I like a pink toothbrush.”
“I want that white cup.”
“The towel should be soft.”
“I’d like the peach-scented shower gel.”
“Are the soles of these slippers soft enough?”
…
Su Ci just gave her preferences, while Lu Zhe did all the actual picking and lifting.
As she watched the young man silently choose slippers for her by the shelf, Su Ci found herself inadvertently bit on her straw, bending it out of shape.
Why did she get the feeling that she was being a bully, taking advantage of the poor guy?
“Try these on and see if they fit.” Lu Zhe picked a pair of light pink soft-soled slippers, placed them on the floor for Su Ci to try on.
After trying them on, Su Ci nodded in satisfaction. “They’re very comfortable.”
“Okay”
Lu Zhe then placed the slippers into the shopping cart.
When they left the supermarket, Lu Zhe’s hands were full, carrying bags of items. Su Ci, not wanting to seem heartless, offered, “Lu Zhe, let me help you carry some.”
Looking at the girl’s extended hand, with its slender fingers and soft pink-tipped nails, it didn’t look like a hand meant for labor.
“No need,” Lu Zhe declined.
Su Ci didn’t press further. Instead, she took a bottle of drink from one of the bags in Lu Zhe’s hand, unscrewed the cap, and held it to Lu Zhe’s lips. “Let me help you drink then. Your lips look dry.”
Su Ci felt that Lu Zhe was too capable. If she didn’t do something, she’d be disgusted with herself.
Lu Zhe didn’t let Su Ci feed him. He put down the bag in his hand, took the bottle from Su Ci, and gulped down two mouthfuls.
Alright, even the tiny bit of value she could contribute had been exploited.
By the time they returned to their place, it was late. The high-hanging moon showed only half its face.
Inside the house, other than Lu Zhe’s room, there was only a storage room. The previous night, Su Ci had offered to stay and was willing to sleep in the storage room.
She opened the door to the storage room and turned on the light.
Inside, the windows were tightly shut, and a musty smell wafted through. Other than a few broken chairs, there were only some cardboard boxes. Nothing else was there. The space was narrow, half the size of Lu Zhe’s room.
Su Ci estimated that this room could barely fit a single bed and a small wardrobe; anything more would not fit.
A wave of sadness washed over her.
All she had on her was 20,000 yuan, and apart from that, she had nothing. Even if she wanted to rent a new place, she couldn’t afford many months.
It was stuffy inside with a slight moldy smell. Apart from a few old chairs and cardboard boxes, there was nothing else. The room was small, probably half the size of Lu Zhe’s room.
By her estimation, there was barely enough space for a single bed and a small wardrobe. Nothing more would fit.
Moreover, she had already spent a considerable amount of Lu Zhe’s money, and she would need to pay him back eventually.
Su Ci felt the pressing need to find a way to earn money.
Feeling disheartened, she stepped out of the storage room, ready to clean it up, as she was planning to sleep there that night.
“I’ve changed the bed sheets and the pillowcase. You can sleep in my room,” Lu Zhe said as he emerged from his bedroom.
Peeking inside, Su Ci saw that the old gray sheets had been replaced with the light pink ones she had chosen at the supermarket, including the matching pillowcase.
“What about you?” Su Ci asked, glancing at him.
“I’ll clean up the storage room later.”
It was clear he intended to sleep there.
A sudden feeling tugged at Su Ci’s heart. She asked Lu Zhe directly, “Why are you so kind to me? You took me in, bought me clothes, shoes, daily necessities, and now you’re giving up your room for me. Lu Zhe, do you like me?”
Lu Zhe gave her a brief glance, replying calmly, “No. You were the one who asked me to take you in.”
“You don’t need to overthink it. When you were a rabbit, I bought you rabbit food and a cage,” Lu Zhe continued, before heading off to clean the storage room.
Su Ci pursed her lips, asking Fu Gui, “What does Lu Zhe mean by that? So in his eyes, I’m still just a rabbit?”
Fu Gui: [Even if the master is a rabbit, she’s still the cutest rabbit in the world!]
Su Ci: “Get out!”
Fu Gui: [Okay!]
After taking a shower, Su Ci knocked on the door to the storage room.
It was quickly opened by Lu Zhe.
The room had been cleaned and the windows were opened, but the smell inside was still unpleasant. Su Ci noticed a foldable bed in the middle, probably where Lu Zhe intended to sleep that night.
For a moment, Su Ci felt even more pity for Lu Zhe.
“Should I just stay here?” Su Ci may be delicate, but she believed she wasn’t someone who couldn’t endure a bit of hardship.
“No need.”
For Lu Zhe, it didn’t matter where he slept, as he wasn’t picky about such things.
In his childhood at the orphanage, over twenty kids would squeeze onto a large bed, each trying their best to take up as little space as possible. Sleeping on a foldable bed was nothing compared to that.
Su Ci looked up, her dark eyes shimmering with moisture, and stared intently at Lu Zhe. A second later, she stepped forward, gently tugging at the hem of his shirt.
“Lu Zhe, you should kiss me now.”
Lu Zhe replied, “I kissed you twice this afternoon.”
One kiss lasting nine hours, and the other ten hours, a total of nineteen hours, which should be enough to last her until tomorrow.
Fresh out of the shower, Su Ci wore a new nightgown, a white cotton dress that felt soft against her skin. The hem of the gown was embroidered with a few cute flowers, exuding a strong youthful vibe. Whether it was the warmth from the shower or something else, her exposed skin had a faint rosy tint. Her soft hair, slightly damp, cascaded down her chest.
The Su Ci in front of him looked alluring, like a seductive fairy. Any other man, upon hearing Su Ci’s invitation for a kiss, would’ve agreed without hesitation, unlike Lu Zhe who seemed to resist.
In Su Ci’s opinion, more kisses were always better.
It was beneficial for both her and him.
The more, the merrier!
Su Ci tiptoed, initiating a kiss with Lu Zhe.
Her soft red lips landed directly on the young man’s cold ones.
A flash of surprise appeared in Lu Zhe’s dark eyes.
Greedy for more, Su Ci kissed him twice. Seeing Lu Zhe about to regain his senses and push her away, she hurriedly gripped his shoulders and kissed him once more.
Before retreating, she slightly parted her lips and gave a gentle bite on the young man’s thin lips.
She stepped back joyfully.
Mischievously, she looked at Lu Zhe and asked, “It tasted a bit salty. Lu Zhe, did I just taste your sweat?”
Given the hot summer weather and the lack of ventilation in the storage room, which made it even more stuffy, Lu Zhe had indeed sweated quite a bit after cleaning up.
There was a mischievous glint in the girl’s eyes.
Lu Zhe gave her a light glance with his dark eyes, and shut the door right in front of Su Ci.
