Beast, Blue Blood - Chapter 99
Chapter 99
She wanted to believe it was a lie, but Alex, grabbing Si-woo’s clothes, stabbed him straight in the stomach, and the sword shot through his back, spraying blood.
Si-woo, pushed by the exploding energy, flew through the air and hit the ground, causing a cracking sound as the floor beneath him shattered like a spider’s web.
“Si-woo!”
Ha-yeon screamed and rushed out. Si-woo’s clothes began to turn bright red, and a dark crimson pool spread slowly around him.
“Si-woo!”
Ha-yeon sharply yelled at the security team.
“What are you doing? Call ER!”
The security team scrambled, some making calls while others ran off. Ha-yeon quickly turned to Alex. He was standing by, with a face that showed little emotion.
“How could you… Si-woo…!”
Her wide-open eyes filled with tears. Yet, Patronus, who had just killed his long-time client Si-woo with his own hands, showed less emotion than when one of his potted plants had died.
Everyone knew that Si-woo had served Alex with dedication for hundreds of years, even though he was only his adopted son. Ha-yeon couldn’t believe how cold-hearted her father was. To commit murder so casually without even considering the circumstances!
“No matter if you’re my father, I can’t forgive you. How can you kill someone so easily…!”
Her disappointment in him was beyond words. No, could this even be called disappointment?
But suddenly, Si-woo grabbed Ha-yeon’s arm.
“Stop… please.”
Ha-yeon flinched and turned to Si-woo. Thankfully, he wasn’t dead yet, as his eyes were still open, though he coughed up blood. Ha-yeon immediately forgot about Alex and knelt beside Si-woo.
“Si-woo! Hold on… no, don’t move! ER will be here soon…”
Despite this, Si-woo struggled to sit up.
“I’m fine.”
“You’re not fine…!”
Ha-yeon started to shout instinctively but stopped. Through the torn fabric, she saw that the wound was healing, as if time itself was reversing.
“What… your wound…”
Ha-yeon muttered, dazed, unable to believe what she was seeing.
“Never heard of it?”
Following the sound of his voice, Ha-yeon turned back to Alex. Her father still wore an expression colder than ever.
“The story of a vampire who can’t die.”
Ha-yeon stared blankly at Si-woo.
“I’ve never heard of… such a thing…”
At that moment, Si-woo looked at Alex and spoke.
“I may not die, but it still hurts. A lot.”
Then he glanced at Ha-yeon and, looking a little drained, smiled faintly.
“Didn’t I say I was ‘special’?”
Ha-yeon, still in a daze, looked down at Si-woo’s abdomen, where the wound had now completely disappeared without a trace.
“Then… was drinking blood because of that…?”
Ha-yeon stammered, and Si-woo nodded.
“You should have told me this sooner!”
Ha-yeon, her frustration boiling over, was about to slap Si-woo’s cheek but paused, then burst into tears. Si-woo was startled. Since they had grown up, it was the first time he had ever seen Ha-yeon cry. And unlike her usual tears, where she would sob softly before crying louder, she started out wailing like she had lost everything.
“Oh, God.”
Si-woo, never expecting this reaction, took her hand. Ha-yeon, barely able to speak through her violent sobbing, forced out her words.
“I thought you were dead… I thought I’d never see you again…”
Si-woo, growing more anxious, simply pulled her into his arms. He gently cradled the back of her head and whispered.
“I’m sorry. Please, don’t cry.”
But Ha-yeon only cried harder. As he watched the scene unfold, Alex, still holding the sword in one hand, furrowed his brow and ran his hand through his hair.
He hadn’t expected Ha-yeon to be this affected. It seemed the two of them had grown closer than he had realized.

Eugene, who had entered through the completely smashed open door, was stunned. The house was a mess.
“What is this…?”
Alex, Ha-yeon, and Si-woo were sitting on a sofa with one side blown away. Alex had his arms crossed and his legs crossed, while Si-woo and Ha-yeon sat side by side on the opposite side. To Eugene’s surprise, Si-woo looked fine, even though she had expected him to be in a worse condition.
Eugene gave Alex a slight nod.
“I came because Father told me to check on things.”
It seemed that Ivan had sent his daughter-in-law to deal with the situation, likely because Alex had already stirred up quite a scene.
“It’s nothing serious.”
Alex said casually. Although it didn’t seem trivial to Eugene, at least no one appeared to be dead.
“I’m sorry.”
Si-woo, sitting like a sinner, apologized.
“If you were truly sorry, you wouldn’t have started this in the first place.”
Alex’s expression remained unchanged, but it felt like he was internally boiling with anger. Eugene glanced at him.
It seemed that the difference between a father with a son and a father with a daughter was evident. Ivan, even when Fuger-Dulloch became a relative by marriage, had not reacted strongly, but here, Alex had caused this commotion even with someone as central to the clan’s economic stability as his opponent.

[The young lady is at a nearby café.]
Alex began to sense something suspicious when the bodyguards outside relayed this information after he had finished the whiskey at Si-woo’s place. There was no reason for Ha-yeon to be alone in a café nearby.
If she had come to find Selena, it would have been sufficient for her to enter regardless of Alex’s presence. Especially considering Ha-yeon’s aversion to waiting or having her turn delayed.
As Alex suspected that his daughter was hiding something, he looked at Selena, who was in her male form.
Come to think of it, Selena seemed to have been waiting for someone before Alex arrived.
Alex got up from his seat.
“I’ll be off now. Thanks for the drinks. It was nice to talk after so long.”
“I enjoyed it too. Please visit more often.”
After a brief farewell with Selena, Alex left the house and looked up at the towering Babylon Tower-like building. He then contacted someone and sent the coordinates of the café where Ha-yeon was.
“Can you send a video of the coordinates?”
[What’s the matter?]
“…I saw something suspicious.”
This was the first time Alex abused his power.
[Sending video.]
A screen showing the footage from a military drone appeared in the air. Alex stared at the screen for a long time.
“Do you have a rope?”
Without taking his eyes off the screen, he asked.
“Yes? Yes.”
When a bodyguard handed over a coiled military rope, Alex re-entered the building. The bodyguards followed him.
As soon as Alex took the elevator to the rooftop, he headed straight for the railing. Before the bodyguards could catch up, he hooked the rope onto the railing and jumped off.
From the rooftop of the 180-story skyscraper.
“Captain!”
The bodyguards, surprised, immediately looked down and shouted, but Alex was already descending at tremendous speed.
When he reached Si-woo’s house, he kicked off lightly, soaring into the air like a pendulum. The couple inside, completely unaware of what was happening outside, were passionately kissing.
As gravity took hold, Alex began to dive toward the house.

Si-woo sat with his back to the patchwork of the hole Alex had made, looking at a loss for words.
Alex spoke coldly.
“I knew you were cross-dressing regardless of your true identity, but I never asked for you to become your client’s son-in-law.”
Si-woo sighed.
“I’m sorry.”
“What exactly are you sorry for?”
Ha-yeon exploded in anger.
“What crime did you commit?”
Her previous tears seemed to have vanished.
Ha-yeon looked back at Alex.
“I like Si-woo. We’re not blood relatives, and although Si-woo is a bit older, it’s nothing compared to the Luax standard. Even me, I’m an adult. There shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
“I don’t even know where to start.”
Alex began calmly.
“What hurts the most is that we raised you in our wombs. This ungrateful bastard who laid hands on you.”
He glared at Si-woo as if he were ready to kill him with his eyes, and Si-woo remained silent. Alex clicked his tongue in frustration.
“This is why I said you shouldn’t trust young-looking vampires. They don’t even know how old they are and inappropriately desire young women.”
Alex seemed to completely forget that he himself had a millennium-age difference with his wife. However, no one here dared to remind him of that fact.
“I’m the one who touched Si-woo.”
Ha-yeon said.
“I pushed for us to start dating even though he said he didn’t want to.”
Alex stood up.
“I didn’t think you’d listen to me no matter what I said. Even if I tried to stop you, you wouldn’t listen until you realized and regretted it yourself.”
Ha-yeon looked at her father as he headed toward the door.
“I won’t.”
“I’ll be watching.”
As Alex left, Eugene looked at Si-woo with disapproval.
“Do it properly. Did you get caught?”
Si-woo looked incredulous.
“Can I really do anything against public authority?”
At that moment, Alex, now out of sight in the hallway, spoke.
“Eugene, take Ha-yeon out of here.”
Ha-yeon, irritated, looked at Si-woo.
“Are you really okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“About not dying…”
“Ha-yeon Yachthund.”
Alex’s call made Ha-yeon sigh.
“I’ll talk to you later.”
She then gave Si-woo a quick peck on the lips, as if stealing a kiss.
“I’ll call you.”
Si-woo gently patted Ha-yeon’s head.
“Be careful.”
Watching them, Eugene muttered.
“I didn’t believe they were dating until I saw it with my own eyes, but it’s real.”
Ha-yeon, looking incredulous, said.
“Can you give us a French kiss in front of us?”
“Please, no. I’m afraid I’ll start imagining things.”
“What kind of strange imaginations?”
“Better left to your imagination. Let’s go.”
“You know, sometimes you can be really rude?”
With that, the two women went outside. Left alone, Si-woo looked around his house. It was a complete mess. The front door was also wrecked, making it impossible to stay here tonight. Though the apartment above, where Ha-yeon used to live, was empty, he didn’t feel like staying there either.
So, Si-woo left the house and headed to his company.
He needed to find Changwon-gun and put an end to the grudge that had started six hundred years ago.
