Beast, Blue Blood - Chapter 91
Chapter 91
“It was a woman? Damn, I didn’t see her face.”
The reporter knocked on the door.
“I left my pen.”
Of course, there was no reply.
“It’s an important pen to me! It’ll only take a moment. I just want to get my pen! Really, just the pen!”
By the end, she was almost yelling, but she heard someone approaching from the hallway. It was Si-woo’s bodyguard.
“Let’s go.”
When the reporter didn’t move, the bodyguard smiled slightly.
“Before I make you leave forcibly.”
The reporter didn’t hide her displ*asure but knew she couldn’t resist any longer, so she reluctantly picked up her bag from the floor and walked away with heavy steps.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Ha-yeon heard the sounds of the reporter and the bodyguard disappearing.
“It was a reporter?”
At that moment, Si-woo turned and entered the room. But after taking a few steps, he felt unsteady and had to lean against the wall.
A startled Ha-yeon quickly ran over and checked on him.
“What’s wrong?”
While waiting for Ha-yeon to leave, the effects of the drug worsened, making the room spin.
‘Drug effects,’ what a strange term.
Late realization struck Ha-yeon, thinking it should have been her rather than the reporter who should have left, but her mind was too foggy to think clearly.
At that moment, Ha-yeon cupped Si-woo’s face and made him face her.
Si-woo looked at her with unusually deep eyes, appearing like a drenched puppy or a fiercely angry beast.
“Si-woo.”
Although he had told her several times not to call him that name, Ha-yeon ignored it. Indeed, if she wanted to do as she pleased, there was no way he could force her otherwise.
“Does it hurt?”
Ha-yeon asked with genuine concern, her hand feeling the warmth of his face.
“I’m fine.”
As he spoke, Si-woo pulled her hand down and then let go, but Ha-yeon grabbed it again.
“Si-woo.”
Si-woo then grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer.
“Didn’t I tell you not to call me that name?”
A growl echoed from deep within him.
Ha-yeon froze in shock, staring at Si-woo. The wrist he was holding felt like it was burning, it was so painful. If her bones had been any weaker, they might have shattered.
Si-woo was so consumed by his intense emotions that he could not control his strength.
Suddenly, a large hand cupped the back of her head, and their lips crashed together. It was a kiss as if he were devouring her. He held her tightly with his strong hands, forcing his tongue into her mouth roughly. But this time, Ha-yeon did not resist. Instead, she wrapped her arms around Si-woo’s neck and clung to him.
Si-woo, with a possessive touch, grabbed her b*ttocks. Ha-yeon gasped and made a sound, not out of shock or disgust, but because she was ar*used. She realized that she had wanted this more than she had thought.
As their saliva mixed, Si-woo pushed Ha-yeon against him. His vision was clouded with lust. It felt like he would explode if he didn’t possess her right now.
Earlier, the other woman had been someone else, but now, somehow, the woman had changed to Ha-yeon. Si-woo vaguely realized this fact.
“You… did you take something?”
Ha-yeon asked, panting. Si-woo, not stopping his actions, answered with a broken voice.
“It seems so.”
His whole body felt like it was on fire. This heat was anything but ordinary. Especially when he looked at Ha-yeon, a storm of flames surged through his veins.
“Stop… please.”
He couldn’t stop no matter how hard he tried.
“No.”
But Ha-yeon said.
“If you don’t take something, your precious rationality won’t break down.”
Si-woo took shallow breaths. His rationality was gradually fading.
“I might… hurt you.”
If she were an ordinary person like the woman earlier, her life would be in danger. Even though she was Ha-yeon, the thought of her getting even the slightest injury, especially from his own doing, was unbearable to the point where he would rather choose death.
“Si-woo.”
Ha-yeon held his face and made him look at her.
“I’m strong. No one can mistreat or kill me. If there’s a woman you can love safely, it’s only me.”
She stood upright as if forged from steel, and Si-woo felt as if he was losing his breath.
Ha-yeon wrapped her arms around his face and pulled him close, whispering.
“I love you, Si-woo.”
With those words, Si-woo finally broke down.
* * *
‘Maybe it would be better to just die this way. It would be the easiest path.’
Si-woo thought seriously while staring at the ceiling with his eyes open.
The hotel room was a mess. He didn’t rem*mber what happened, but the floor was shattered as if smashed with a hammer, and items were scattered everywhere.
He had considered various kinds of death in his life. And although he had come close to experiencing one of those deaths, he never imagined being killed by a respected patron.
As Si-woo got up, the blanket scattered and his bare torso was exposed. He also felt that he was n*ked below.
At that moment, the AI asked.
[You have a message. Would you like to see it?]
“Yes.”
A hologram displayed a message from Ha-yeon.
<I’m going to the lecture.>
He felt as if he were heading to hell.
The problem was that he didn’t rem*mber anything after kissing Ha-yeon. He had never seen a drug with such a strong aphr*disiac effect that it could make someone lose their mind.
‘It must be newly developed.’
If Ha-yeon hadn’t come and he had slept with that woman, his life might have been in danger. Although his life wasn’t safe now either.
He wasn’t sure how far things had gone with Ha-yeon. He was dressed before losing consciousness. Even if he had undressed due to the heat in a place with automatic temperature control, it was crucial whether someone who had fainted from drugs would remove all their underwear…
Thinking this, he went into the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror.
His face was a mess. It looked like the face of someone who had drunk to the point of death just once and woke up around 6 PM. He couldn’t rem*mber how long it had been since he last saw dark circles.
* * *
Jerome placed a small plastic container on the office desk. Si-woo in his Selena guise with dark circles under his eyes, looked at it and then at Jerome, who spoke.
“It seems we need to test what kind of drug you took. I couldn’t find the bartender no matter how hard I looked.”
Si-woo lowered the hand that had been resting on his chin.
“Wasn’t he a confirmed person?”
Although Si-woo didn’t know about the bartender, the secretarial office would have investigated and verified his ident*ty. He had many enemies, both as an individual and as the CEO of ISLE, so he couldn’t meet people without at least this minimal precaution.
Jerome slightly bowed.
“I apologize. I thought he was legitimate, but it seems there were hidden motives.”
Even the capable secretarial office of ISLE might have difficulty detecting someone who was determined to deceive them. They were secretaries, not CIA agents.
Si-woo stood up without saying a word, holding the container. Jerome looked at him, surprised, as he headed toward the bathroom.
“Are you going to do that now?”
Si-woo who was not in a good mood, turned around with a blank expression.
“Should I at least take a bath before doing it?”
“No, it’s just that…”
Jerome stammered, looking caught off guard.
“Don’t imagine it.”
Si-woo said and disappeared into the bathroom. Jerome was left feeling perplexed.
“No, saying it like that only makes me imagine it more.”
Si-woo placed the container on the toilet once inside the bathroom. He stood with his hands on his hips, staring back at the container as if it were glaring at him. But just staring wouldn’t solve the issue, so he eventually lifted his skirt. Thanks to his memory of wearing a robe, this action wasn’t unfamiliar to him.
“Si-woo.”
Suddenly, a yearning call brushed against his ear. And something that he hadn’t rem*mbered flashed before his eyes like a spark. Words whispered with a pa$sionate, red mouth, eyes shimmering with moisture…
Si-woo looked down and swore. What kind of drug was it that its effects were still lingering?
In reality, Si-woo had no way of knowing that the drug’s effects had already completely left his body. He finally calmed himself down, washed his hands, and straightened his body.
The red eyes reflected in the mirror burned with intensity. Even though he was in a female guise, the eyes were unmistakably not those of a woman.
At that moment, the doorbell rang, and the AI spoke.
[Miss Ha-yeon is calling. Would you like to answer?]
Si-woo hesitated, then took a tissue to wipe his hands.
“No, leave it.”
Si-woo discarded the tissue in the trash can and left the room. Another call from Ha-yeon came in while he was outside, but he still didn’t answer.
At that moment, Jerome asked.
“What should we prepare as a gift?”
Si-woo looked at Jerome with confusion.
“What gift are you talking about?”
Jerome tilted his head.
“Did you forget? It’s surprising. You always take care of it yourself every year. It’s Miss Ha-yeon’s birthday party tonight.”
Si-woo had completely forgotten.
He muttered something under his breath. Jerome looked at him with a stunned expression and muttered.
“Were you cursing just now?”
But Si-woo just frowned as if deep in thought and didn’t answer.
* * *
Clank.
With a metallic sound, the helicopter door opened, and high heels touched the ground.
Si-woo was in a more perfect Selena guise than usual. Whether this appearance was more meaningful, even he didn’t know, but one thing was clear. This appearance was his last defense against the overwhelming invader known as Ha-yeon.
He looked up at the brightly lit mansion as if he had to enter the enemy’s stronghold alone.
Jerome followed, getting out of the helicopter with a giant teddy bear tucked under his arm. The bear had a ma$sive red ribbon tied around its neck.
Jerome asked with a worried tone.
“Do you think she’ll like this?”
Anyone who knew Ha-yeon even a little could easily guess the expression she would make when she saw the teddy bear. It would be a relief if he could give the gift without getting any complaints.
Si-woo replied.
“She’ll probably hate it.”
Jerome looked as if he wanted to ask, ‘Then why…,’ but Si-woo said no more and went down the stairs to enter the house.
As soon as the door opened, a sweet aroma wafted out. The smell of food, cake, cookies, and laughter filled the air. A banner reading “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” was hung on the wall.
