Beast, Blue Blood - Chapter 53
Chapter 53
“Master.”
“Selena, how did you…”
Selena didn’t answer and just extended his hand.
“Give me that chip.”
Hisha frowned.
“How did you know about this chip?”
Predicting that Hisha would ask such a question, Selena answered without showing any change in expression.
“Before she died, Director Eugene said so.”
“If anything happens to me.”
Eugene stopped in the middle of leaving the restaurant room and said this. Selena looked at her back with a puzzled expression.
“Watch Hisha. He will know.”
Then Eugene shrugged and left.
“Of course, he might not know that he knows.”
When Hisha did not move as he looked at Selena’s extended hand, one of the bodyguards stepped forward to take the chip and handed it to Selena. Hisha did not stop this. He just clenched his fist and asked.
“Eugene knew she was going to die, didn’t she? Who are the ‘angry ones’?”
“Leave it to me.”
Selena said as he turned around.
“Tell me.”
Hisha grabbed his shoulder.
The fabric of his clothes twisted under Hisha’s grip as if it were screaming. However, Selena calmly placed his hand on his and said.
“I will take you home.”
“……”
Hisha looked around at the waiting bodyguards, released Selena’s clothing, and walked out without another word.
“I’ll go alone.”
After waiting for Hisha to disappear, Selena nodded to the bodyguards.
“Follow him.”
The bodyguards nodded and immediately followed. Hisha walked down the hallway and turned a corner. The bodyguards followed him around the corner.
But Hisha was nowhere to be seen.
“……!”
Not expecting him to disappear so quickly, the bodyguards looked around in confusion.
One of the bodyguards shouted urgently.
“Search!”
Selena, who had come out into the hallway, observed this with a serious look before making a phone call. As soon as the other party answered, he said.
“I need some help.”
* * *
Sergei was traveling by car.
Boom!
Suddenly, something fell on the car from the sky like a meteor. With a tremendous noise, the car windows shattered and the car roof caved in.
Before he could recover, the door on Sergei’s side was ripped off, and someone pulled him out by his collar.
The large Sergei was dragged out like a piece of paper and slammed against the car with a loud bang.
A multitude of guns were aimed at Hisha’s head as he pinned Sergei down.
“Let go and step back!”
Sergei’s bodyguards shouted. Nevertheless, Hisha, undeterred, continued to look only at Sergei and asked.
“Do you know who killed Eugene?”
Sergei had a look of horror.
“I barely survived because of you.”
“Step back now!”
A bodyguard shouted in a voice so loud it seemed to shake the surroundings. Despite this, Hisha continued to question Sergei.
“To cause such a terror, they must not be ordinary.”
But Sergei only glared at Hisha and didn’t answer. Hisha then grabbed Sergei by the collar and threw him aside.
“Who are they?!”
Hisha shouted at the top of his lungs.
Sergei staggered, bleeding, as he tried to rise from the shattered glass of the car window. The bodyguards, communicating via radio, rushed over immediately.
In the meantime, Hisha stood Sergei up. Sergei tried to throw a punch, but Hisha lightly grabbed his arm and stopped him.
Suddenly, Sergei burst into laughter. He sneered at Hisha, who was looking down at him with a truly terrifying gaze.
“Who would want to become a Luax in a situation like this?”
Hisha pulled Sergei close, almost touching his face.
“Do you think I’m hesitating to kill you right now?”
His red eyes flashed like torches. They looked like the eyes of a demon.
Hisha was truly determined to kill Sergei. There was no hesitation in his resolve. Considering he had never wanted to kill anyone before, this was significant.
Just then.
“Hisha Ivanov.”
A voice was heard.
Hisha looked over his shoulder.
In the middle of the road, where all the cars had stopped, stood a man in black combat gear.
Although it was clear from the combat gear that he was a soldier, what was strange was that he was completely unarmed and only wore a mask of the same color as his combat gear.
“Let him go and step back. Now.”
The grayish-blue eyes visible through the mask carried a stern aura.
“Uncle Do-young.”
Do-young, a long-time colleague and friend of his mother, was like an uncle to Hisha. Even though he was still an active special forces soldier with an ever-changing assignment, he had sent Hisha a birthday card and a gift not long ago.
However, Hisha had never expected that Do-young, now leading the Jaeger Legion, would come to stop him.
Even one Jaeger would be a formidable opponent for Hisha, and Do-young was in a completely different class. Still, he couldn’t just go home quietly.
Hisha released Sergei as if pushing him aside. Yet, Do-young, seeing that Hisha seemed unwilling to listen, spoke.
“What are you doing? Do you know how worried your parents are?”
It was clear who had sent Do-young.
Hisha’s eyes, glaring at Do-young, glistened with tears.
“I’m going to find the ones who killed Eugene.”
Do-young’s eyes, on the other hand, sank low.
“What are you going to do after finding them?”
“I’ll make them pay.”
“That’s not your job.”
“How is it not my job?”
Hisha shouted in response. His voice was choked with emotion.
“Eugene is no longer in this world. Someone killed her! So how is it not my job to find the ones who killed her?”
“Hisha.”
Do-young called Hisha with a voice full of sympathy.
He did understand Hisha’s feelings, perhaps too well. But he needed to make Hisha stop pouring out his anger and acting recklessly.
And before seeing up close, Do-young had not noticed the strange look in Hisha’s eyes. They had deepened in red and carried a sinister aura.
With those eyes, Hisha spoke in a low, yet furious voice.
“I will find those bastards.”
“I can’t let you put yourself in danger.”
As soon as Do-young spoke, the wind roared like a storm. In the next moment, Do-young caught Hisha’s swinging fist. Do-young reached out as if to grab Hisha, but Hisha tilted his head back to evade.
Do-young was a highly trained special forces operative. In terms of technique, there was no comparison, but Hisha used his innate senses to read Do-young’s movements. However, Do-young swiftly grabbed Hisha’s neck in mid-air and slammed him down onto the ground.
Bang!
A thunderous sound like an earthquake erupted from beneath the earth, and debris from the shattered road was thrown up in all directions.
Do-young looked down at Hisha, buried in the road, and said softly.
“It’s a pity that you don’t have to enlist.”
Instead of answering, Hisha coughed up blood. Do-young gestured to the team members behind him.
“Take him away.”
The approaching team members grabbed Hisha and lifted him. Debris and dust fell from Hisha’s clothes.
One team member, with a tone of sympathy, said as they took Hisha away.
“Hisha, we will find them. So please wait and trust us.”
But Hisha remained silent, keeping his mouth tightly shut.
Once they put him in the car, the doors locked automatically. Inside the car, Hisha leaned back, exhausted, and closed his eyes.
Seeing this, the team member sighed and turned away. He approached a fellow team member and said.
“First love can be quite devastating.”
The fellow team member sighed in response.
“It’s rare for someone’s first love to be killed in a terrorist attack.”
Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep.
Suddenly, a loud alarm blared.
When they hurriedly looked back, they saw that the opposite door of the car Hisha was in was damaged and the car was empty.
They had underestimated Hisha, thinking he was just a high school graduate who caused this mess.
“What’s going on?”
Do-young, who was supervising the cleanup, approached and asked.
“It’s….”
The team members looked at him, unable to answer.
Do-young saw the opposite door of the car was wide open and immediately turned his steps. He approached the car Sergei was in and asked him.
“Did you say anything to Hisha?”
Sergei gave a twisted smile.
“Maybe.”
“Lancenum.”
Sergei spoke while looking at Hisha, who was gripping his collar. Though he wanted to tear him apart alive in revenge for the insult, there was a better way than handling it himself. He would just let Hisha crawl into his own grave.
“ They do various tasks. If you pay, there’s nothing they can’t do. Compared to you, these are dangerous guys who can’t even be compared. Just go and get yourself killed.”
Hisha scoffed.
“Thanks for the advice.”
* * *
Whoosh.
Hisha slid down the hill.
A commotion started in the distance. It seemed they realized he was gone.
Hisha began to run as soon as he hit the ground.
He wasn’t afraid of dying. If he died, he would meet Eugene. It was better to die than to live yearning for Eugene through an endless time. He would first find the ones who killed Eugene and take revenge.
* * *
A pale aura emanated from the white cloth covering the face.
Heinrich, sitting in a wheelchair, looked at Eugene’s body covered by the white cloth. Behind him stood Cox, dressed in black, silently. He appeared gloomy but was trying to compose himself.
“Meilin was the woman our father chose.”
At some point, Heinrich murmured.
To be precise, it was Meilin’s family that was chosen, but Heinrich had no real complaints. He had known from a young age that someone from a good family would become his wife.
Moreover, for him, having a wife was not synonymous with having a relationship with just one woman for a lifetime. His father had done so, and his grandfather had too.
“When Meilin cried and demanded love, it was almost bewildering. Our mother, rather than expecting love from her husband, would have been horrified if someone said they would give love.”
Cox lifted his head and looked at Heinrich’s back. Although he was speaking, it seemed closer to talking to himself.
Of course, Meilin soon regained her composure and maintained a cold and distant relationship, just as his mother had with his father. Everything changed before the Cruise incident.
Heinrich looked at Eugene as if Meilin were right in front of him and said.
“She was a disappointing wife in every way.”
But the child she bore was an excellent heir. Not only did she have a brilliant mind and beautiful appearance, but her personality was also very much like Heinrich’s. Heinrich knew it would be hard to find an heir as capable as Eugene, no matter what woman he had a child with. That’s why it was just regrettable.
From behind, Cox spoke carefully.
“The Lian family is already upset because of the lady’s death.”
This was because Eugene’s death severed the connection with the Fuger-Dulloch family.
Heinrich murmured.
“It’s alright. There’s Leah.”
Although the situation of having to choose an heir among illegitimate children was not very pleasant, Leah was close to Eugene and, most importantly, she was a Mavrogiotis.
“Even if Lian leaves, Mavrogiotis will come in, so both the royal family council and the board of directors will have no objections.”
Just then, Heinrich noticed an unfamiliar ring on Eugene’s hand.
