Beast, Blue Blood - Chapter 111
Chapter 111
“Uh….”
Ha-yeon answered sleepily and buried her face in Si-woo’s back. Si-woo glanced back and asked.
“Weren’t you just saying that you’re still angry?”
“I’m not.”
Ha-yeon mumbled against his back. As Si-woo turned around, she asked, looking at Si-woo’s neck.
“Does it hurt?”
“It’s just a tie.”
This time, Ha-yeon buried her face in Si-woo’s chest and murmured with her eyes closed.
“I’m sorry. I was a bit impulsive.”
“That’s okay. It was somewhat stimulating.”
Ha-yeon glanced up at him.
“What’s bothering you?”
“Nothing. As long as you’re safe, miss.”
Even though Ha-yeon was already in his arms, she boldly spread her arms and demanded.
“Hug me.”
When Si-woo embraced her, Ha-yeon spoke while still nestled against him.
“It’s not that I’m doing this because I’m over my anger. I just don’t want to waste my anger, and I want to be like this with you.”
Then, after a moment, she quietly asked.,
“What about Choi Myung-jin? Is she hurt?”
“She said there are no broken bones.”
She had been hit, but it meant it wasn’t life-threatening.
Soon, Ha-yeon stepped out of Si-woo’s embrace.
“I want to visit her.”
“Understood.”
For some reason, Si-woo didn’t oppose this.
“I’ll tell Jerome to take you to the hospital.”
“Why aren’t you telling me not to go?”
“I’m trying to ease my mind a bit. You two probably have things to say to each other.”
Ha-yeon kissed him lightly and went to wash up. Si-woo took a cigarette and went out to the balcony to make a call.
“What’s the situation?”
Tauga shook his head when he appeared on the screen.
[No trace of them.]
It was unprecedented for armed assailants to invade the factory and steal the planes. Moreover, among them was the next-generation strategic bomber B-77, which was equipped with the newly developed Saber missile and had already completed its test flight.
[The way things are escalating, it feels like a calamity is upon us.]
Si-woo looked at Tauga in surprise.
“Where did you learn to say that?”
Tauga simply shrugged. Then his expression turned serious as he said.
[If it gets out that the B-77 has been stolen, it will be irreparable.]
“…….”
Si-woo remained silent as Tauga continued.
[Not only would our image plummet but there will also be speculation that we’re colluding with a terrorist organization.]
That was a completely different level from merely being suspected of connections with the Brotherhood. Although the Brotherhood was trying to develop a virus, they were ultimately just victims who had been slaughtered.
“Let me know if you get any small news.”
Si-woo said this and hung up. His figure, exhaling cigarette smoke while looking out the window, was reflected in the glass.
* * *
Jerome stood at the door to the hospital room.
“Go on in.”
Ha-yeon nodded and entered the room. Myung-jin was sitting on the bed in a patient gown. Her face was bruised and marked, looking like she had been in quite a fight.
“I’m sorry.”
Myung-jin suddenly said. Ha-yeon, standing in front of her, let out a long breath.
“At least you’re not suddenly using formal language.”
“Anyway, I’m used to this way of speaking.”
Ha-yeon noticed that Myung-jin’s tone was different as if she had heard about her true identity.
Ha-yeon asked.
“So you were from Mossad?”
Myung-jin nodded.
“I was born in Israel, starting from my grandfather’s generation.”
“How long have you been working under Si-woo?”
“Since nine years ago.”
“Nine years? Then how old are you…?”
Ha-yeon was surprised and then quickly closed her mouth. Myung-jin replied without a smile.
“I just look younger.”
Ha-yeon sometimes found Myung-jin’s immaturity frustrating, but she couldn’t help but sigh again.
“So it was all an act. What about Isaac?”
He had occasionally had meals with Myung-jin’s brother, Isaac.
“He looks even younger.”
It meant that her brother was also an agent.
Ha-yeon rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.
“This is really… Am I Truman or something?”
Myung-jin fell silent, and a quiet tension filled the room. Ha-yeon lowered her hands from her temples.
“I’m angry that you deceived me, but you were just doing your job.”
Suddenly, Myung-jin hugged Ha-yeon.
“I’m sorry.”
Ha-yeon let out a sigh. At that moment, she felt a sharp pain in her neck.
When she unconsciously looked in the mirror, she saw Myung-jin stabbing something into the right side of her neck.
“You….”
In an instant, Ha-yeon’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed as Myung-jin caught her.
At that moment, a young woman slid out from under the bed and pulled a suitcase from the wardrobe. She started changing into Ha-yeon’s clothes, stripping her entirely.
Meanwhile, Myung-jin checked outside once, then, as if preparing for a rehearsed play, she embraced Ha-yeon and placed her into the suitcase. She folded her arms and legs to fit, carefully arranging her tousled hair so it wouldn’t get caught in the zipper and closed the suitcase.
The woman, now dressed in all of Ha-yeon’s clothes, even put on a backpack. Their physique and shape were so similar that one could easily mistake her for Ha-yeon at first glance.
She then walked outside.
When the waiting bodyguards turned around, the woman spoke.
“Let’s go.”
In Ha-yeon’s voice.
The bodyguards, not sensing anything strange, followed her as she walked down the hallway.
Meanwhile, inside the hospital room, Myung-jin took off her patient gown, revealing a white t-shirt and jeans underneath. She threw on a jacket she had pulled from the wardrobe and grabbed the suitcase, heading out. The bodyguards had all followed Ha-yeon, leaving the doorway empty.
As she calmly walked down the hallway with the suitcase, Eugene appeared around the corner. However, since she didn’t seem to recognize Myung-jin, she walked quietly past her. The suitcase rolled smoothly behind her.
The two brushed past each other in the middle of the hallway. Myung-jin felt relieved inwardly and quickened her pace to appear casual.
“Hey.”
At that moment, Eugene called out.
“Don’t you know me, Choi Myung-jin?”
Myung-jin hesitated. Then she glanced back over her shoulder to see Eugene looking back at her.
They had never met before. However, Eugene recognized Myung-jin from reports, and Myung-jin had a confident expression that suggested she knew about her through similar channels.
Eugene gestured at the suitcase Myung-jin was dragging.
“Looks like you’re going on a trip.”
The moment Myung-jin drew a gun from inside her jacket, Eugene quickly grabbed her arm and leaned away.
Eugene had never been trained as a Luax and was busy with other tasks; after all, that kind of work was for bodyguards. Yet, what was surprising was that she could see the movements.
However, she couldn’t read Myung-jin’s other hand as she grabbed her clothes and turned to escape. She only managed to dodge when she saw her draw the gun.
Myung-jin kicked Eugene with the force of pushing against the wall. She was shoved backward into the door, which shattered upon impact, causing her to fall.
Despite being a Luax, Eugene was no match for the trained Myung-jin.
She fainted instantly.
* * *
Meanwhile, the bodyguards following the woman disguised as Ha-yeon began to sense something was off. No matter how well she was disguised, Ha-yeon was someone they had seen more often than their own family recently. Subtle differences in her jawline, gait, and even her almost similar physique instinctively gave her away.
“Wait a minute….”
One bodyguard said as he reached out to grab her shoulder, but the woman quickly took off running.
“Catch her!”
The bodyguards immediately chased after her, with half of them returning to the hospital. Along the way, they stumbled upon the half-destroyed door and found Eugene unconscious on the floor.
“Director!”
* * *
Myung-jin, having left the hospital, naturally handed the suitcase to the waiting man and walked past.
“The package has been delivered safely.”
* * *
“A suitcase?”
Si-woo couldn’t believe that Ha-yeon had been taken away like a piece of luggage. If the woman on the CCTV screen was indeed wearing Ha-yeon’s clothes, then she was likely in her underwear.
Standing behind Si-woo, who was staring at the monitor showing the transmitted CCTV footage without blinking, was Eugene.
“Eugene!”
At that moment, Hisha rushed into the situation control room.
“Oh my god, are you okay?”
Hisha rushed in with a shocked expression as if he had just heard that Eugene had been attacked.
“I’m fine.”
Eugene said and gestured toward Si-woo.
“That one is more of a problem.”
Si-woo stood there, completely still.
Ha-yeon had slipped away like a dream, having been in his arms just this morning, chattering away as if nothing was wrong.
Just as Hisha was about to say something to Si-woo, he suddenly spoke up.
“Agent Choi Myung-jin wouldn’t have been a traitor from the start.”
His tone was very rational and calm.
“Agent Choi Myung-jin knows exactly what her actions mean. There must be a reason why she had to make that choice.”
“Could it be that someone in her family or acquaintances is being held hostage?”
At Eugene’s question, Si-woo shook his head.
“Agent Choi Myung-jin has no family. During her time with Mossad, her entire family, including her younger brother, was killed in a terrorist attack by Palestinian militant groups.”
“So that’s why you chose Agent Choi Myung-jin as her bodyguard.”
Eugene was convinced.
The fact that there were no family members who could be taken hostage meant that she wouldn’t be in a situation where she had to choose between her family and the person she was protecting. If Si-woo had considered this when selecting a bodyguard, it showed just how much he cared for Ha-yeon.
“Then is she trying to take revenge on those who killed her family?”
Hisha asked.
“We can’t know how the group that killed her family is connected to this situation….”
That could be a possibility, but Si-woo felt it wasn’t the case.
“When she joined the agency, she accepted the possibility that her family could become victims.”
Myung-jin had said that during her bodyguard interview.
‘Of course, I tried my best to prevent such things from happening. Unfortunately, it did, but perhaps it’s all part of divine providence.’
He didn’t think that was just an act.
Si-woo raised his gaze.
“We need to find her immediately.”
His eyes shone a bright blue.
