Alien Bar: Found a Wizard Girl, Gale Sword - Chapter 26: Spider house-tour
Lanya raised her head and saw the descending golden giant spider, letting out a surprised cry that she struggled to suppress.
The massive golden spider was even larger than a grown man, yet it landed on the spiderweb without making a sound, not a single quiver. As it approached, an unusual fragrance emanated from its body.
Six blue circular eyes adorned its central head, flanked by two pairs of front pincers that resembled sapphires embedded in its form.
With graceful movements, its legs, covered in golden fur, brought it close to the cocoon enveloping Leon and Lanya. It moved towards Lanya’s neck, and its scissor-like pincers slightly parted, poised as if to sever her neck at any moment.
Lanya’s trembling lips and teary eyes could no longer be held back. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and she began to sob uncontrollably.
Then, without hesitation, she directed her emotions towards the golden giant spider, shouting:
“You, you cursed golden spider! If you’re going to eat us, do it quickly! Why are you stalling? There’s nothing left to fear at this point. Come on, use your venomous fangs to pierce me!”
The golden spider paused for a moment, then emitted a stream of white silk from its mouth, sealing Lanya’s petite mouth and rendering her voiceless.
Curiously, it abandoned Lanya and turned its attention towards Leon. Its sharp pincers hovered before Leon’s eyes, attempting to intimidate him.
Yet, to its dismay, Leon merely furrowed his brow slightly, revealing minimal fear.
Leon also found himself perplexed. What was the spider’s intent? It seemed torn between consuming him and merely frightening him, as if it were toying with its prey.
Just then, a gentle yet helpless voice echoed from the darkness.
“Enough, stop scaring them.”
Hearing this voice, Leon hesitated, questioning whether he had misheard. Wasn’t that Nilu’s voice?
The radiant aura emanating from the golden spider illuminated the surroundings as a figure emerged from the shadows, landing gracefully on the spiderweb.
As Leon recognized the figure before him, he exclaimed:
“Sister Nilu!”
However, the Nilu now standing before him was unlike her usual appearance in the shop.
Although she possessed the same exquisite facial features and alluring figure, she was adorned in a revealing black gown that barely concealed her front. Elegantly extended wings adorned her bare back, their jet-black hue contrasting starkly against her snow-white skin. Coupled with the gown, she exuded an enigmatic blend of nobility, sensuality, and grace.
A soft chuckle ensued.
“Heh, who said I was planning to feast upon you? I’m here to rescue you.”
The golden giant spider chimed in with a familiar voice as well.
Leon stared at the transformed creature before him, seeking confirmation, “Elise?”
“Hehe, I wanted to give you a little fright. Who could blame you for acting so arrogantly in the shop?”
Lanya’s face had turned as red as blood. She widened her eyes and made muffled sounds, wriggling her body, seemingly wanting to bury her head in the cocoon.
He asked, “How did you end up here?”
The golden spider began to shrink and transformed into the appearance of Elise, its body covered in silk, concealing critical areas.
“This is my home. Where else would I be?” Elise stated matter-of-factly.
“Your home?”
“Yeah, I’ve been living here for a long time.”
Suddenly, Leon asked, “Are all the spiders in the cave your offspring?”
“Ugh! Do you think I’m like those dim-witted cave spiders, producing as many offspring as possible? I come from a noble ancient bloodline, passed down through generations. I haven’t even married yet, how could I have spiderlings? Those spiders sought my protection and gathered in this cave.”
“Alright, I understand. Can you get us out of here?”
Elise let out a disdainful snort, extending her hand and lightly touching the cocoon. The sticky silk that had bound Leon and Lanya lost its grip, falling apart like dust.
Finally free, Leon and Lanya were separated. Elise frowned, sniffing the air, and couldn’t help but smile.
“Hey, what did you call me just now?”
Lanya, her legs squeezed together, her face flushed with embarrassment, remained silent.
Quickly changing the subject, Leon asked, “Did you notice when we entered the cave?”
“Of course, this is my home. I noticed you as soon as you entered.”
“In other words, you deliberately sent that large spider to attack us?”
“Hehe, I just wanted to scare you a little. After all, you’re usually so arrogant in the shop.”
Leon’s wry smile conveyed his understanding that, despite everything, they were now safe—a paramount concern.
“Speaking of which, would you care to explore the opulent underground palace where I reside? It’s quite extravagant, you know. I had the cave spiders construct it under my direction.”
“Where is it located?”
“Down below, come with me.”
Suddenly, Elise grabbed Lanya’s hand and emitted a strand of silk from her other hand, entwining the spiderweb beneath their feet. With Lanya in tow, she leaped through a gap in the web and descended toward the depths.
Elise’s voice resonated from below, “Nilu, I’ll leave Leon to you. I have no desire to come near him.”
The receding voice implied an ongoing descent into what appeared to be an abyss.
With elegance, Nilu approached Leon, a smile adorning her features. “Give me your hand, little brother Leon.”
Leon extended his hand, which Nilu immediately clasped. Her touch, cold yet tender, felt remarkably comfortable. As her wings fluttered behind her, she carried Leon toward the bottom.
“I am a vampire. I detest sunlight, hence I’ve taken refuge in Elise’s cave. The space down here is truly remarkable—dark and tranquil, with cute little spiders,” Nilu offered, reintroducing herself with a gentle smile.
“A vampire?” Leon’s surprise was palpable. “Will Nilu be drinking my blood?”
Nilu’s alluring smile deepened, “Is that so? Do you secretly wish for me to drink from you? Should you desire it, it might not be entirely impossible~”
“No, that’s not what I meant. I’m just curious.”
“Hehe, fear not. I’ve long surpassed the stage where my survival hinges on blood consumption. I won’t resort to attacking humans for sustenance.”
Mid-descent, Leon inquired, “Could I cast an illumination spell?”
The sensation of utter darkness was less than pleasant.
“Let’s wait until we reach the ground. Otherwise, we might frighten the nearby little ones.”
Leon nodded, and soon Nilu brought their descent to a halt.
“We’ve arrived.”
Leon nodded, and soon Nilu came to a stop.
“We’re here.”
Leon’s feet made contact with the solid ground, the familiar sensation instilling a deep sense of security. Retrieving his staff from his storage ring, he cast an illumination spell, finally revealing the structure before him.
A partially open, grand stone door beckoned, leading into the interior of the gray stone wall. Elise and Lanya awaited just beyond the doorway.
Lanya maintained her lowered gaze, unable to meet Leon’s eyes, although her robe had been magically dried.
Nilu’s mischievous grin persisted, reminiscent of a harbinger of the underworld. She gestured toward the enigmatic darkness beyond the stone door, provocatively querying, “So, are you prepared to venture inside?”
Leon wordlessly walked through the stone door, his staff held firmly in hand.
Indeed, Elise’s subterranean palace was truly remarkable. One spacious stone chamber followed another, each meticulously neat and adorned with intricate, elegant patterns. However, most of these spaces were surprisingly empty.
Leon entered yet another stone chamber, where a sizable alchemical table stood against one wall, its surface strewn with bottles, containers, and scattered powders emitting a faintly acrid aroma.
Adjacent to the alchemical table were a bookshelf and a cauldron, housing a collection of books.
The scent of alcohol wafted through the air—a fragrance unfamiliar yet unmistakable. It was undoubtedly the product of some form of alcoholic drink native to this world.
Following the scent, Leon located a shelf on the opposite side of the room, stocked with bottles of alcohol—some unopened, others partially consumed, and a few empty.
“What is this place?”
Elise, now present beside him, clarified, “Ah, this is where I study mixology.”
Leon glanced at the disheveled alchemical table. “You study mixology here?”
In that moment, Leon came to comprehend why the beverages she crafted were consistently unpalatable.
