Alien Bar: Found a Wizard Girl, Gale Sword - Chapter 21: Headless Knight
Boom!
The bar’s entrance was forcefully flung open with a loud bang, as if someone had kicked it open from the outside with great force. At the same time, a cautious voice came from outside the door.
“Why is there such a strange door here? Who’s inside?” A mature man’s voice.
Leon, who was wiping a bottle, jumped in surprise and looked up. Outside the door, sudden pitch-black flames ignited, but they didn’t spread inside, not even touching the door frame.
He turned to look at Elise, “Do they want to burn down the shop from outside?”
Sitting at the bar, Lanya turned around and saw the black flames, exclaiming, “Advanced undead fire!”
Elise, who had been feeling extremely bored, stood up from her chair, flexing her wrists and fists, a hint of excitement in her eyes.
Finally, some action.
She stared at the door, waiting for the special guest from outside to come in.
Amidst the black flames, the sound of clashing armor came, and a figure slowly materialized from within.
The moment the figure fully materialized, Leon’s pupils shrank suddenly.
Jet-black shiny armor, dark red cloak, wielding a broad jet-black sword, with only a section of snow-white neck above its shoulders. In its left hand, which wasn’t holding the sword, it held a severed head.
Lanya exclaimed, “The Headless Knight, an elite existence from the underworld. But why would the Headless Knight appear in Castalonne?”
After clearly seeing the Headless Knight, what concerned Leon was something else entirely.
The armor on the figure wasn’t fully covering; there were openings at the waist, thighs, and chest. Judging from the fair skin and well-proportioned figure, it was a nearly perfect female body. But the head, covered in stubble, was that of a man.
Why was it a man’s head?
Which one was the true form, the body or the head?
The long-haired male head being held in the hand questioned, “Who are you people? Why are you in my castle? If you don’t confess honestly, don’t blame me for showing no mercy with my sword.”
Elise smiled playfully, “Dear guest, please don’t get agitated. If you want a drink, please put away your weapon and take a seat. If you’re here to cause trouble…” Elise’s smile disappeared, her fist making cracking sounds as she clenched it, “I’ll throw you out!”
“Surface-dwelling creatures, dare to provoke me? You seek death!”
Inky flames ignited on the jet-black sword, and the Headless Knight swung its right arm, slashing towards Elise.
Elise’s figure vanished in the moment the sword swung, reappearing in front of the Headless Knight before its arm descended, her left hand raised, blocking the Knight’s armored arm, preventing the sword strike.
“So fast!”
The male head held in the Headless Knight’s hand showed a shocked expression. Elise lowered her head, giving the male head a faint smile, “The weakness of the Headless Knight lies right here!”
“What… What do you want?” the male head nervously asked.
“Nothing much, just suddenly felt like kicking a ball.”
Before the words even finished, Elise kicked out. The head held tightly by the Headless Knight flew out like a soccer ball heading for the goalpost. Amidst cries of pain, it shot out of the door at an incredibly fast speed.
In the Headless Knight’s hand, only a clump of pulled-out hair remained.
The headless Headless Knight, swinging its sword frantically, but its blind attacks without vision couldn’t touch a single hair of Elise’s.
Seizing the opportunity, Elise’s long leg moved like an iron whip, whipping swiftly and forcefully at the Knight’s abdomen. Instantly, the sword slipped from its hand, its body sliding back to the doorway, hands clutching its belly as it knelt down.
Nilu, who had heard the commotion from the resting area, came out just in time to see Elise landing another kick, sending the Headless Knight flying out of the door.
“Elise? Did you chase away the new customer?” Nilu yawned.
Elise stretched her body, in a very pleasant mood, pointing at the black flames outside, “Look, he started it. He even wanted to burn down our shop.”
Seeing Elise take action again, Leon thought to himself, wondering if there was even a rule in the employee handbook about not laying hands on colleagues. Regardless, it’s better not to provoke her in the future.
This customer was undoubtedly the most unique one he had encountered since starting this job.
“Lanya, you mentioned the underworld earlier?”
Lanya nodded, her astonishment still evident on her face.
“The underworld is the realm of undead and the living dead. The Headless Knight is an elite presence there, and it should never appear in a surface world city like Castalonne, unless the surface has already fallen.”
Elise explained with a smile, “The entrance to the Emerald Bar is not just one, you know. The entrance in Castalonne is just one of many in human cities.”
“Does that mean this shop’s entrances are spread all over the continent? Even the underworld has an entrance here, that’s quite exaggerated.”
“Exactly.”
Lanya’s mouth hung slightly open as she marveled, “This shop is indeed quite impressive.”
After understanding the situation, Leon thought to himself that there might be even stranger customers in the future. He better prepare mentally in advance.
He looked at the black sword left behind by the Headless Knight and asked, “What should we do with this sword?”
Elise effortlessly picked up the sword, producing a white thread from somewhere and hung it on the wall, saying, “It wouldn’t hurt to leave it here as decoration, or maybe when the knight comes back, we can extort some ransom from him.”
She’s quite ruthless, this woman…
After work, Leon and Lanya headed to a nearby jewellery store from the bar, which took about fifteen minutes on foot.
The two gemstones from the Prince were sold for a high price of 12,000 gold, and this time Leon didn’t entrust them to Lanya. Lanya also felt embarrassed to take care of them, to the extent that she didn’t even accept the 100 gold Leon offered her.
According to her, her luck with money had always been bad, so she would spend it as soon as she had it, or she might lose her wealth due to various circumstances.
Due to not having earned money for so long, she had forgotten about this trait of hers. If she had remembered earlier, she wouldn’t have agreed to keep the 1,000 gold coins for Leon.
Carrying the bulging money bag, Leon followed Lanya’s lead to a magic item shop near the adventurer’s guild.
Standing at the shop’s entrance, Leon looked up at the wooden sign hanging above the door, which read “Allison’s Magical Artifacts.”
Although it was a bit nauseating to think back, he did let the door spirit lick him last night. It felt like an electric current running through his body, but there weren’t any other abnormal effects at the time.
Now it seemed that the enchantment ritual was successful.
The two entered the shop, and a gentle voice immediately came from behind the counter.
“Welcome, please feel free to look around.”
Shopkeeper Allison appeared to be a mature woman in her twenties, with soft brown hair cascading down her shoulders. She wore a black and purple mage robe, and her figure was quite eye-catching.
Seeing the bulging money bag in Leon’s hand, her seductive eyes immediately lit up.
Judging by the bag’s size and the shape of the coins, which were gold coins worth 100 each, there was at least 10,000 gold inside. More importantly, both Leon and Lanya looked very young, clearly fresh adventurers.
These customers were practically the perfect prey.
Allison came out from behind the counter, her enthusiasm apparent, “May I ask what type of items you’re looking for, dear customers? I can make some recommendations.”
