“Hey, what kind of expression is that? Don’t worry, I’ll compensate you.”
Prince Lieyang noticed a strange look in Leon’s eyes, thinking he wanted money. So, he took out a larger gemstone from his money bag, looking proud.
“Here, take this.”
“Take a good look at what you’re holding in your hand.”
“Of course, it’s the top-grade red gemstone mined from the depths of the Noxus vein—why has it turned into a stone?!”
Prince Lieyang was shocked to find that the gemstone in his hand had turned into a gray-white stone, identical in shape but completely devoid of the sparkling clarity of a gem, more like an ordinary rock.
Not only that, his golden armor had lost its luster, turning gray-white, and his gilded Galama scimitar at his waist had turned into a piece of dried fish.
Leon took out Lanya’s money bag from his pocket, opened it, and the frog inside had turned back into a cellphone.
He took out the phone, explained the situation to Prince Lieyang, and recounted what Nilu had told him.
“A reaction from the other world?”
“Yes,” Leon looked at Prince Lieyang in surprise, “Not only your belongings, even your body is undergoing changes, haven’t you noticed?”
Prince Lieyang touched his face upon hearing this. He realized that his smooth and shiny scales had disappeared. He touched his head and found that his proud spikes were also gone.
He turned his head and realized that his thick, powerful, and elegant tail was also missing. He couldn’t help but exclaim, “What have I turned into?”
Leon looked at the transformed Prince Lieyang, whose face now resembled that of an ordinary human, albeit slightly different with a deeper and reddish hue, and he looked quite young, even younger than himself.
With a closer look, he could almost pass as an ordinary young man with a shaved head, and he even had a certain charm.
“Becoming more like a human, that’s a good thing. This way, even if you stay here, it won’t cause panic,” Leon explained.
“Would my original appearance really cause panic here?”
Prince Lieyang felt a bit displeased with Leon’s explanation. He was a well-known handsome man in the Galama Empire, and his appearances usually attracted screams of admiration from young girls, not panic.
“Yes, in this world, there aren’t as many diverse intelligent species as where you come from, only humans.”
It’s worth noting that Prince Lieyang had a strong psychological resilience. He quickly calmed down and looked around at the tall buildings.
“Your world seems quite interesting; take me for a stroll.”
Leon shook his head, “It’s late at night, and wandering around on the streets might attract attention from the police. Moreover, your current appearance is quite unusual; people might see you as a weirdo. Let’s go to my place first, and you can change into some normal clothes.”
“Police?”
“They are the law enforcement officers here, responsible for maintaining order.”
“Who do they serve? Who is the king here?”
“I’ll explain all of that when we have more time.”
“Fine, then take me to your place.”
As Leon led Prince Lieyang to his apartment, he explained the differences between the two worlds.
When they passed an alley, they heard a woman’s cry for help.
Before he could react, Prince Lieyang had already drawn his Galama dried fish knife from his waist and rushed in.
Leon wondered if he could handle it alone. He remembered how weak Lanya had become after using magic yesterday. He didn’t know if Prince Lieyang, who appeared more like a warrior, would also be affected by the world’s limitations.
When he entered the alley, Prince Lieyang was already facing off against a group of thugs.
There were three of them in total. The one at the front had the typical appearance of a thug, and one of them was holding a girl’s hand. She was quite attractive, and walking alone at night like this, it wasn’t surprising she had caught their attention.
“Release the lady.”
Prince Lieyang held the dried fish, the shriveled fish head aimed at the three thugs, like a solitary swordsman.
They burst into laughter.
“Haha, this is hilarious! Where did this loser come from? Holding a dried fish and acting like a hero. Xiao Liang, show him what you’ve got.”
One of the thugs stepped forward, holding a shiny small knife, looking fierce.
“Take a good look; this is a real weapon. If you don’t want to get cut, you better scram.”
Leon discreetly pulled out his phone, preparing to call the police. But Prince Lieyang took action.
With astonishing speed, he lunged forward and swung the fish—not a knife—hitting Xiao Liang’s wrist. There was a cry of pain, and the knife fell to the ground.
Clutching his injured wrist, Xiao Liang was unable to make any further moves. Then, the lifeless fish head swung towards his face.
Smack!
The fish knife left a clear red mark on his face, causing his nose to bleed, and tears to well up.
The other two thugs came forward with a baton and brass knuckles, but both were ruthlessly struck by the dried fish and dropped their weapons before fleeing in disarray.
Prince Lieyang sheathed his fish knife and approached the astonished girl, pinning her against the wall.
“Beauty, would you like to be my princess?”
The girl hesitated for a moment, then suddenly pushed him away and fled in the opposite direction, even faster than the thugs.
“Why did she run away?”
Prince Lieyang was puzzled.
Leon explained, “In the middle of the night, a bald man in weird attire, waving a dried fish, and saying those strange words to her—despite you saving her, she probably thought you were a weirdo or a lunatic.”
“Women in this world are strange,” Prince Lieyang shrugged.
The real strange one here is you, asking someone if they want to be your princess right off the bat. It’s not like you’re an Arabian oil prince…
Of course, Leon didn’t say that out loud.
Prince Lieyang picked up a baton left behind by one of the thugs and examined it, then chuckled, “This thing is quite interesting.”
He treated it as a trophy, securing it to his belt.
Remembering his performance earlier in driving off the thugs, Leon was surprised, “I didn’t expect you to be so skilled in this world too.”
Prince Lieyang shook his head, regretful, “No, my strength has significantly diminished. If I still had my original power, even if it were a fish, I could have smashed their heads. What I did just now was all about technique.”
Leon felt a sense of relief. Fortunately, his strength had decreased. Otherwise, if he had actually smashed the thugs’ heads, it could have traumatized the girl.
Even more importantly, that would have taken lives. Beating their heads in would have attracted the police’s attention, and if it led back to him, it would be a big problem.
However, this also meant that physical strength, like magic, was limited in this world, while knowledge and skills remained unaffected.
With this in mind, luring Karina to this world and giving her a lesson might be possible.
Guiding Prince Lieyang back to his apartment, they took the elevator. Prince Lieyang was surprised, just like Lanya had been.
“The mechanisms in this room are interesting. After I ascend the throne, I should build a palace with a building like this. And this ‘elevator’ mechanism too.”
Hearing his words, Leon silently prayed for the lizard people of the Galama Empire, hoping that he wouldn’t become a tyrant who wasted resources.
As he led Prince Lieyang into the apartment, his roommate, Gao Wenyang, happened to come out of the bathroom, saw Leon bringing yet another person, and adjusted his glasses.
“Hmm? A bald man today?”
