Alien Bar: Found a Wizard Girl, Gale Sword - Chapter 13: 'Croak'
“Leon, what’s jumping in your pants?”
Lanya also heard the sound and looked down, finding something jumping in Leon’s trousers.
Leon reached into his pocket and grabbed a slippery creature, startled, he quickly pulled his hand back as if he was shocked.
A green frog jumped out of his pocket, with a smooth appearance and big bulging eyes, looking like a very healthy frog.
“Why do you have a frog in your pants?” Lanya shouted, pointing at the frog.
Leon was stunned and couldn’t find the words to explain.
Wait a minute, my pocket was supposed to have my phone, how did it turn into a frog?
Seeing the frog about to escape, Leon quickly moved forward and caught it.
The frog struggled and secreted a slimy mucus, getting Leon’s hand dirty, but he still managed to hold it.
Just then, Nilu and Elise came out of the shop. Elise saw Leon holding a frog and gave him a disgusted look. “So sticky and gross.”
Leon, still holding the frog, asked them, “Why did my phone turn into a frog?”
Nilu explained with a smile, “It’s because of the different rules of the two worlds causing a repulsive reaction. The electronic products from Earth brought here will become unusable.”
Leon felt a pang of distress as his phone cost him quite a bit of money.
“Can it turn back?”
Nilu replied gently, “As long as you return to the bar or Earth, it will return to its original form. But be careful, if the frog dies here, even if you return to the bar or your world, you’ll only get a broken phone.”
Leon felt somewhat relieved as long as it could change back.
“However, Elise, you’re really amazing.” Leon looked around at the bustling street and said suddenly.
Elise raised her slender eyebrows, “What do you mean?”
Leon scanned the crowd on the street, “Our bar is located in such a bustling place, but in three days, only two new customers came. It seems your reputation for making drinks on this planet is truly impressive and widely known.”
Elise was dumbfounded for a moment but then became instantly furious.
“Darn it, I’ll kill you!” If Nilu wasn’t holding her back, she would have rushed over to tear Leon apart.
Nilu had a helpless smile on her face and gently said to Leon, “Leon, don’t tease her so much. If I’m not around one day, I’m really afraid she might eat you. But having few customers is not her fault, um, there are other reasons.”
Nilu stopped halfway as she realized that claiming Elise had no responsibility was nonsense, so she corrected herself by saying “other reasons.”
Curious, Leon asked, “What reasons?”
Nilu, holding back Elise, explained, “This bar is located in the bustling area, but not everyone is qualified to enter.”
“You mean people who are not qualified can’t see the bar’s entrance?”
Nilu shook her head slightly, “For those who are not qualified, although they can see the bar’s existence, they will never have the idea of walking into the bar, nor will they leave any impression of it in their minds.”
Leon nodded calmly after hearing this. Compared to the bar’s ability to connect two worlds, this didn’t seem like a big deal.
But Lanya, being a wizard, knew how incredible this was and couldn’t help but exclaim, “Oh, it’s amazing! Subtly affecting people’s thoughts, hidden in such a bustling place without being noticed, it’s truly unbelievable. Is there a magic array set up here?”
Nilu smiled and said, “Little sister, you should ask the bar owner about that. We are just working here, and we don’t know that much.”
“It seems the bar owner must be a very powerful person.”
Nilu reminded her, “You shouldn’t call him that in front of him, otherwise, he’ll explode.”
Lanya was puzzled, “You mean…the bar owner? Is there anything wrong with that name?”
Nilu smiled and didn’t answer, bidding Leon farewell and leaving with the still aggressive Elise.
Leon was still holding the frog. “Lanya, you’re a wizard, don’t you have any magical tools to put this frog in?”
“Yes, I have a money pouch that serves as a storage magical tool, but it doesn’t have any air inside, and it would suffocate in there.”
She also didn’t want to put a frog inside her hat.
Leon was helpless and couldn’t just walk around with the slippery frog in his hands. It looked weird and disgusting, and people were already looking at him strangely.
At this moment, Lanya lifted the big hat on her head slightly and pulled out a purple money pouch from underneath, taking out a few silver coins and putting them back into the pouch. Then she handed the pouch to Leon.
“Put it in my money pouch; this bag is breathable, so it won’t suffocate.”
The pouch had two small thumb-sized holes, so it was indeed breathable.
Leon took the money pouch and put the frog inside, then gently tightened the string of the pouch.
He could still hear the frog croaking inside, but at least it was much better than holding it in his hands.
“Lanya, can you carry this pouch for me?”
“No, I hate frogs.” Even the obedient and docile Lanya expressed her firm stance.
Leon was helpless and had to put the money pouch with the frog back into his pocket.
Lanya stepped back and pointed to a fork in the road ahead, “The Adventurer Guild is over there, follow me.”
The two walked along the bustling street and arrived at the entrance of the Adventurer Guild.
The guild was located in the most prosperous area of Uradaha’s Long Street, with nearby shops selling medicines, armours, weapons, magic items, and various types of taverns.
Leon stood under the steps, looking at the prominently placed building in front of him.
The Adventurer Guild was a three-story gray-white stone building, with the foundation elevated more than one meter above the street level. One had to climb nine broad steps and walk through a platform paved with colorful tiles to reach the guild’s entrance.
The yellow wooden door was wide and magnificent, with the guild’s flag on either side, depicting the images of an eagle and a lion.
The door was wide open at the moment, and the noise of chatter came from inside the guild hall.
The two entered the guild hall, and Leon observed the environment inside. The hall was spacious, with wooden tables and benches on both sides, and a counter was set up in front of the entrance, much like the layout of a large tavern, or rather, this place served as a tavern that also accepted missions.
Groups of adventurers with nothing to do sat at the tables on both sides, drinking, chatting, exchanging information, or engaging in meaningless banter and tabletop games.
Those who enjoyed the lively atmosphere of taverns would definitely love this place. Leon didn’t mind it either, but he couldn’t work in such an environment.
“May I help you with something?” They approached the counter, and a female elf responsible for daily affairs smiled and asked.
Lanya took a deep breath, and her little face blushed with excitement.
She took out a gold coin from her hat and put it on the counter, her tone trembling, “We want to register a team.”
“Croak.”
The sound of the frog came from Leon’s pants.
