“Miss, you just returned to the mansion and now you’re going out again?”
“Yeah. Going out to have fun.”
“At this late hour, alone?”
“Jane, exciting things happen at night. That’s why you shouldn’t go to bed early. It’s a huge loss.”
After rejecting Ray’s proposal and returning to the mansion, Iva called for Jane and started dressing up from the beginning.
She discarded her peasant look, adorned herself with a green velvet dress, a gold necklace, and pearl earrings, exuding splendor.
“You’re really going out?”
“Yeah. Today, I want to get drunk. It’s the day I exacted my first revenge.”
It was the first time Iva struck Ray in three lifetimes. She had ended her long-desired relationship with him, and she couldn’t just lie around idly.
To celebrate this day, a celebratory drink was indispensable. Leaving behind a worried Jane, Iva headed straight for Madame Shane’s residence.
Madame Shane, having lost her husband, held parties at the mansion every day. She had no children, so what’s the point of her life besides spending money? So now she wanders around seeking fun.
Shane was a free-spirited soul, often holding parties at her mansion when there was no outside party to attend.
Though her parties were known for being ownerless, they had their own appeal.
“What kind of mask will you wear?”
“Hmm, I’ll go with a black cat mask.”
Wearing a mask was mandatory to enter. Even if one’s face was concealed, it was possible to roughly guess which family they belonged to, but if they denied it, there was no further inquiry.
With no owner and wearing masks, people of all ages participated in the parties.
“I’ve always wanted to come and see it. Now I’m here.”
Iva firmly wore the black cat mask that covered half of her face and entered. Most of the people there were already drunk, their eyes and bodies relaxed.
“Everyone always pretends outside, but inside here, it’s a mess.”
Iva surveyed her surroundings and immediately headed toward where the wine was located.
“I’m going to drink until my nose goes crooked.”
She started by grabbing a glass of alcohol from the catering and downing it. Bitter alcohol filled her mouth.
As she savored the exhilarating taste of the alcohol, she moved toward the direction of the bite-sized snacks.
“So, you saw the two of them together in the park?”
“I clearly saw them, a wild dog and a red rose.”
There was a whisper that caught her ear.
“And the wild dog even covered the rose’s eyes with his hand.”
“Why? To pluck the rose’s eyes out?”
“No, just to shield her eyes from sunlight.”
“What? That wild dog?”
They were speaking in code, but anyone could tell it was about Ray and Iva.
So they dare provoke the villainess of the story? They can curse me but how dare they call me names? I can’t stand this.
“What happened between them at the debutante ball?”
“You didn’t hear? That wild dog didn’t like the rose dancing with others, so he grabbed her hand aggressively.”
“Truly uncouth. But it’s such an unfitting combination. A clueless rose and a scarred wild dog.”
“They actually go quite well together. A thoughtless rose and an emotionless wild dog.”
“Hehe. The scarred, old wooden doll and the cunning fox.”
Crash!
A wine glass flew and shattered right in front of the two people who were openly gossiping.
“Oh, sorry. My hand slipped.”
Iva nonchalantly blamed her carefree hand, obvious to anyone watching.
“What’s wrong with you?!”
“Oh my, be careful, be careful. It would be a big problem if you stepped on glass.”
When the man became angry, Iva deliberately lowered her head slightly, partially revealing her face behind the mask. The two people who recognized Iva through the gap in the mask flinched.
“If you step on it carelessly, what will happen if you get hurt? To such esteemed individuals’ feet.”
“Cough, it’s fine. Please, go on.”
Unconsciously using honorific language, it was clear that they were of lower status. She quickly lifted her head and stepped on the glass fragments as she approached them.
“The conversation earlier was quite interesting. Share it with me too.”
“Yes?”
“The talk about the wild dog and the clueless rose. It sounded like someone I know.”
“That, um…”
The man and woman couldn’t finish their words and just exchanged glances. Iva deliberately spoke softly.
“As far as I know, that red rose is not a cunning fox, but a bulldozer.”
“B-bulldozer?”
“Yes a ‘bulldozer.'”
Iva added a friendly explanation, but her eyes behind the mask did not show any amusement.
“Not only she can scar your entire face, but can also completely demolish it.”
With a swift movement, she stomped on the glass, grinding it under her heel. The shards did not fly toward the two individuals, but her ankle grazed past them.
Unlike the usual nobles who were afraid of getting hurt, Iva’s actions showed that she wasn’t afraid of injuring her body, as it was her own property.
“Let’s pretend I didn’t hear anything today. But if this conversation were to be heard outside, you can imagine what would happen.”
Once again, she swiftly stomped on the ground, crushing the glass.
“Ah, ahh!”
Pressured by Iva’s force, the man and woman hurriedly fled.
“This is what happens when you provoke the villainess. You two.”
Satisfied with her satisfying revenge, Iva felt refreshed and was even more drawn to alcohol. With light footsteps, she headed towards the area with plenty of alcohol.
Several tables were placed side by side, creating a long table. Various wines and champagnes were lined up on top.
She held an empty glass in front of the drink she wanted, and the servants standing behind her poured it for her.
“It’s like having unlimited refills of alcohol. I’ll make a mess here tonight.”
