3177-chapter-14
“Sa… Save…. Me”
The man pleaded with all his might as his vision blurred.
Dr. Madison thinly smiled. He shoved his hands into the pockets on both sides of his white coat, acting like an innocent bystander.
“I don’t know if this is something I should say as a doctor, but life and death are not the business of men.”
Dr. Madison was relaxed in the presence of someone so close to death. He held some sort of conviction bordering madness in his eyes, hidden behind his glasses.
“That is God’s domain.”
The nurse’s hands jerked downward as he struggled to break free. Tearing his gaze away from the limp body, Dr. Madison turned to the figure behind him.
“Shall I take care of it?”
“Can you move him?”
“No,” Dr. Madison replied, smiling weakly.
The dead are heavier than the living. It would be too much for one man to lift and carry that thing without going and lifting weights every once in a while.
“I’ll retire, then, and you may enjoy yourselves.”
With that exaggerated gesture, Dr. Madison closed the door to the room and disappeared. The room now only contained the sleeping Won, the human who was alive only a few moments ago, and the unidentified entity.
The entity loosened its grip on the man’s throat. The man’s body crumpled to the floor like a plan with a broken stem. The figure strode stiffly back to the bed.
Its eyes were as deep as a cavernous cave as it stared down at the drugged and oblivious woman. There was not a single shred of light in the room, but the darkness didn’t bother him.
He could see everything about Won in the dark, as clearly as he could see under the light. Every strand of her long, disheveled hair, her intermittently fluttering eyelashes showing discomfort in her sleep, her breasts rising and falling with rapid exhilarations, even her nipples twitching in the cold.
It was easy to see why men would pounce on her like animals in heat.
“You’re so pretty that you made his eyes roll in the back of his heads.”
She was absolutely beautiful. He didn’t know where the hell he wanted to start with her.
Reaching out, he gently cupped Won’s face.
“I want to have a good time, but I can’t right now.”
He chuckled at the brazenness of Dr. Madison’s goodbye, wishing him a good time when it was obvious the entity knew better.
Pulling down the patient’s gown, which had risen above her chest, and pulling the blanket up to her neck, he slowly bowed his head.
His lips settled on hers.
“Sweet dreams.”
***
A snake here, a snake there. Snakes everywhere.
Her arms and legs were wrapped around with snakes and she couldn’t move. Dozens of snakes slithered over her bound limbs.
She could feel them between her sternum and legs, in her armpits and buttcheeks, and through her toes and fingers. They were wrapped around her neck, hissing in her ear.
‘This is a snake pit.’
Won had fallen into a snake pit.
“Hmph.”
The snakes circled her nipples, rubbed her back, sides, and lower belly. They would rub their bodies against the crack of her pussy. A snake’s tongue darted in and out of each ear. Her erogenous zones began to respond to the stimulation, regardless of her fears.
“Hmph… Uh, ah….”
The snakes’ gentle grip around her neck tightened. Won choked and climaxed, then she opened her eyes.
The ceiling of the hospital room came into view.
Breathing heavily, wondering what was going on, Won looked frantically left and right. There were no snakes to be seen and she realized that it was all just a dream.
After catching her breath, she got out of bed.
‘What a strange dream…’
She was overly conscious of the snake. Otherwise, she couldn’t explain why she had that dream. Dreaming of falling into a pit of snakes and being violated like that… She never thought of snakes as such an object in her life. If the dream was about a desire, it was definitely a man and…
She was lying in mild shock when a nurse came in.
“I see you’re awake. It’s time for exercise class, so get ready.”
‘It’s already six o’clock?’
Won was puzzled; no matter what time she went to sleep, she always woke up at five. She deliberately adjusted her circadian rhythm for this mission. Even if she needed to sleep more, she would train herself to wake up at once at five and close her eyes, but she slept straight through to six?
Won hastily rolled up her sleeves. There was a red mark on her right arm.
‘Needle marks? Had someone come in the middle of the night and injected me with a drug? Like a sedative?’
But Won couldn’t say for sure.
Thin needles fade quickly. If they had used sterile gauze to cover it up, pressing it for a minute or so to stop the bleeding, there would be no trace. Perhaps it was just an insect bite.
There are cameras in the hallways and rooms of the hospital. If someone came in and injected her with someone, they were allowed to do it by the hospital. What other reason would they have to break into her room while she was asleep and drug her?
‘Did they find out what I was doing?’
No, if they did, she would have been kicked out. If they were going to drug her, they should have done it while she was awake.
Were they going through her belongings? That can be done while she is awake or asleep. There is no need to sedate her.
‘It’s not like I’m a target, but did they put all the patients to bed because no one was supposed to leave the room?’
It was clear something nefarious was going on in the asylum.
It wasn’t impossible to drug patients to prevent them from witnessing their activities, but they even made up an outrageous story to limit the patients’ movements. There is no reason to go around and inject them with a sedative one by one when it can be done with food or water in large batches. There are plenty of colorless, tasteless, and odorless sleeping pills out there and could always use the ones they take after dinner.
‘So what if…’
Overcome by an ominous premonition, Won headed for the shower.
After undressing, she examined herself in the acrylic mirror. There was no sign of anything else. It didn’t look like anyone had done anything inappropriate to her while she was unconscious.
Won breathed a sigh of relief. She decided that the mark on her arm was not a needle, but an insect bite. At best, it didn’t make sense for them to have injected her and done nothing. She chalked her waking up later than usual to being out of sorts.
***
Ju-hee, who she met after lunch, seemed to be in a good mood.
“Did you hear, unnie?”
“Hear what?”
“That nurse who groped your shoulder the other day? They quit.”
Won had been offended by the man’s behavior, from the way he looked at her and touched her, but the fact they suddenly quit made her shudder. It wasn’t a feeling of guilt for them leaving, though. It was a mixture of discomfort and bewilderment.
‘I think I’ve heard a similar story before…’
“The next morning, I woke up and did some exercises, but I didn’t see him. I thought he didn’t come out because he must have used up all his energy the night before.”
“Oh my, so he went out for the night and got eaten by a snake?”
“We don’t know that. All we know is that the young man opened the door, and the next day he was missing from the hospital.”
A patient who heard the snake in the hallway, opened the door, and was gone the next day.
Won instantly remembered it because of the commonality of disappearing overnight.
“Isn’t that great, unnie?”
“Uh, yeah. I was a little uncomfortable.”
“Actually, I told Dr. Madison in our individual session that the nurse made me feel uncomfortable, so maybe that’s why he is gone? If so, I feel a little bad, because it’s hard enough to get a job these days, and it’s a little…”
“He wouldn’t fire an employee just because of your complaint. There must have been a number of issues.”
“You’re sure?”
Ju-hee’s expression became one of remorse. It was a quick change of demeanor and Won burst out laughing in disbelief. After watching that, Ju-hee opened her mouth again.
“Noona, I have a question.”
“What?”
“Out of the three picks… I mean, out of the four, including Dr. Madison, who do you like the most? Based on looks alone?”
“Just looks? Not personality or anything else?”
Won asked to confirm, and Ju-hee eagerly nodded. Her eyes sparkled, and Won felt embarrassed. High school students were supposed to be interested in this sort of thing, but not when there is a ten year age gap.
“Why do you want to know? Do you want to know if our tastes are the same? And if they are, are you going to fight with this unnie?”
Won playfully asked, but Ju-hee shook her head.
“No, it isn’t like that. I just want to know.”
“Well, judging by their looks, they’re all pretty good. I can’t choose.”
Dr. Madison, a member of an elite group of handsome men with a mad scientist vibe.
Top Dog, a dangerously handsome man with a languid appearance and a commanding charisma like an emperor.
Black Cat, a daringly handsome man with a sophisticated appearance who is surprisingly cute.
Cha Mu-Jin, a handsome, neat, and noble man who looks like a prince in a foreign land, to borrow Ju-hee’s description.
Each of them had an impeccable appearance.
